So, if the current world view is to remove/take down statues of people that were involved with slavery, why is it that the pyramids in Egypt are not being destroyed? Afterall, the Egyptians used slaves to build them!

@buddhahoodlum really? I'm sure that craftsmen were the ones pulling those heavy stones up.
In any case, slavery is a dark part of the North American culture that's only a couple of generations removed.
Pyramids were made eons ago in comparison. It's a slippery slope to go back in time and judge people based on today's standards. That's why I'm not in favour of going back and demolishing old monuments by today's woke people.

@4petesake it would probably have to be case by case. I don't believe that every single statue and monument was meant to glorify something that you're implying. You're also implying that 420 is a large number of statues/monuments but I have no basis on how many were erected between 1920 to 1940 for example.
