  1. So, if the current world view is to remove/take down statues of people that were involved with slavery, why is it that the pyramids in Egypt are not being destroyed? Afterall, the Egyptians used slaves to build them!

      Sadly they've already removed some of it. The Pyramids used to have casing stones and a capstone on top.

      @Down by the Rivera statue of a man was not a "monument" to slave owners neither - it was a monument to some great thing or things they did - it was only taken down after it was determined that they were involved in slavery.  The Sphinx is a monument, with a pharaoh headdress, Pharoh's had slaves.

      What if I strenuously object that the Sphinx is offensive - will it be taken down?


      (In all seriousness, I am against slavery and apologies for being sarcastic on a terrible trait humans had and some still have)

      The eastern slave trade doesn't really get talked about as much. Just bringing this up is a taboo topic for sure.
