  4. Sad that the last month (December) of my Canucks calendar has a picture of Markstrom.

I was sent this calendar from BC, a yr back. Kept the Demko pic & put it over JM's.

  5. 40 years ago, the Canucks were 11-10-4 and went on to play in their 1st SCF, but lost 4-0 to the Islanders.

A lot of bad teams made the playoffs in the 80s. 16 of 21 teams will do that. Allowed for a few miracle runs though.

  6. And the cradle...will rock.

  7. I'm preparing myself for some on CDC to make Fire <New Coach> threads next season.

My opinion is it's a little of each, but there's zero risk in getting rid of a coach who's proven to be unfit to work at the professional level.

    3. hammertime

      hammertime

Is there really zero risk? Hows firing green bringing in a guy only to fire him in the offseaon gonna be for the teams confidence?

    4. King Heffy

      King Heffy

Then just promote Shaw.  There's zero benefit in keeping a bad coach like Green who is actively destroying the team with his incompetence.

Count me in for Powerage as my favourite, although I will say that Flick of the Switch and Fly on the Wall both benefitted immensely from remastering.

The vast majority of retirees don't get the maximum CPP.

A lot of retired people get maximum OAS, but that is

      currently only $635.26.

I doubt it, but it depends on who they brought in and the moves of the current/future GM.

  12. On this day 30 years ago, Pavel Bure, made his NHL debut.  The only one of my Canucks jerseys that has a player's name on it.

  15. Awesome sports weekend for my teams!  Canucks won! Bombers won!  Pats won!   :towel:

  16. Seemed like, you name him, he coached me. Guys complain about their coaches all the time, but what's the difference if you yourself don't perform on the ice?

People ask me 'Marcel, how did you do it?' A guy 5-foot-7, a little guy with a wide ass, a guy who would never get asked to pose naked in a women's magazine. How did you do all the things you did in hockey?

I worked. I listened. I watched. I had a passion. And because of those things, I enjoyed a great career.

  17. Funny how when a team plays poorly, it's the coaches fault, but when a team plays well - it's the players.

For those expecting Green to be fired, don't hold your breath. This team has played only 4 games, all on the road and all without one or more of their significant players. Going by CapFriendly, there are 12 new players on the 23 man roster, and 13 if you include Schenn. When a team turns over half its roster, it will take time for everything to work properly. Individually they are all good players, but it takes time to become a coordinated, confident team. Patience all you youngun's; when everything clicks it will be awesome.

    4. Tre Mac

      Tre Mac

I'll never understand how someone can overlook the GM and blame the coach when the roster is just so poorly constructed even including the two gems they drafted(whether you consider them lucky or not).  You're not making the playoffs with that D core even if Hamomic was playing, no way.  4 games in and Hughes misses a game you really get to see how thin that blue line is.  But blaming the coach is just the easiest thing to do.

John Glenn rode the shuttle at age 77.

Glenn spent 9 days in space, and 4 hours of flight time on his Mercury-Atlas 6 in 1962.

Maybe if they play the old Devils/Wild brand of hockey, they aren't going to light teams up with that popgun offensive depth.

    3. Canucks_fo_life

      Canucks_fo_life

The Kraken have no depth upfront as it is, and now they've lost like 7 players due to Covid-19 protocol. I wouldn't be surprised if the Canucks finish 20 points ahead of Seattle

I got a pixel 5 last month and am really enjoying the call screen feature. The nice google lady tells the caller that the call is being recorded and that handles it.

    3. Dazzle

      Dazzle

@JM_ The call screen feature doesn't stop spammers when you think about it. It does, however, confirm that the phone is active, which isn't what you want. Active phone = more calls. I have it for my Android and it's basically a useless feature. If you have voice mail, you don't need call screen. Besides, if people want to leave you a message, they could just fire a text.

I think I set the wrong tone by calling him a plug because, sure, he was talented, but I 100% stand by everything else I said.

Also, you offer some interesting comparables, and in a morbid way I feel like losing Hendrix was the greater loss, losing Janis was a tragic loss, and Morrison was just the loss of an ass who couldn't get over himself, hence my feeling he is over-rated.
