  1. The $100,000 question is - why not? It's been 10 years since we were last in a SCF. If based just on history, 1982 to 1994 was 12 years. 1994 to 2011 was 17 years. If linear, it increased by 5 years, does that mean the next SCF appearance by the Canucks will be 22 years after the last - so 2033? Talk about pathetic. You should be able to rebuild faster than that... Last 20 SC Champs: Devils X2 Avs X1 Lightning X2 Hurricanes X1 Ducks X1 Wings X2 Penguins X3 Hawks X3 Bruins X1 Kings X2 Caps X1 Blues X1 Yeah, not as futile as the Sabres...but man it really sucks being a Canucks fan...specially one like me that's been cheering for them since 1975!
  2. Fully agree that Covid has taken it's toll, along with the schedule. That said, the Canucks have been having brain farts for years. I know, they're not robots, but come on, this team is no where near as consistent as the top teams in the league.

what the heck is it, a window? what about a marine bbq that clips on to the railing? that would work even on a Juliette balcony.

It bothers me that theres someone out there that can't bbq even a little.

  4. Three contractors are bidding to repair a fence at the Parliament Buildings One is from Montreal, another is from Winnipeg and the third is from Vancouver. All three go with a public works official to examine the fence. The Vancouver contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil ."Well," he says, "I figure the job will run about $9,000. That's $4,000 for materials, $4,000 for my crew and $1,000 profit for me. The Winnipeg contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $7,000. That's $3,000 for materials, $3,000 for my crew and $1,000 profit for me." The Montreal contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the government official and whispers, "$27,000." The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys. How did you come up with such a high figure" The Montreal contractor whispers back, "$10,000 for me, $10,000 for you, and we hire the guy from Winnipeg to repair the fence.” "Done!" replies the government official. And that, my friends, is how Government contracts work.
  5. So, would picking up a puppy (farm dog) at YVR airport be considered non essential? I mean, he's for my farm, as one of my Livestock Guardian dogs passed away a couple of weeks ago. So we are getting a replacement from Hungary.
  6. A blonde gets a job as a physical education teacher of 16 year olds. She notices a boy at the end of the field standing alone while all the other kids are running around having fun kicking a ball. She takes pity on him and decides to speak to him. "You, O.K.?" she asks. "Yes!" he replies. "You can go and play with the other kids, you know," she offers. "It's best I stay here." he says. "Why's that, sweetie?" asks the blonde. The boy looks at her incredulously and says, "Because I'm the Goalie!"
  7. RIP Mr. Steinman, RIP. I have his Bad For Good album. JIM STEINMANROCK LEGEND DEAD AT 73 ...Hitmaker for Meat Loaf, Celine and Others 10.5K 4/20/2021 9:44 AM PT EXCLUSIVE Getty Jim Steinman, who wrote and produced huge hits for Meat Loaf, Air Supply, Celine Dion and Bonnie Tyler, is dead ... TMZ has learned. Steinman died Monday in Connecticut, according to the state's medical examiner. The cause of death is unclear. We do know it appears it was sudden ... there was a medical emergency call to his home around 3:30 AM Sunday to transport a male patient. BEST BUDSLAUNCH GALLERY Getty Jim's perhaps best known for his songwriting work on Meat Loaf’s "Bat Out of Hell" -- one of the best selling albums of all time -- and "Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell" ... writing and producing the smash hit, "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)." Steinman's got his fingerprints all over Bonnie Tyler's albums, writing and producing her biggest hit, "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Jim also wrote and composed Air Supply's "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" and Barry Manilow's "Read 'Em and Weep," which was originally written for Meat Loaf. He's also the brainchild behind another power ballad, "It's All Coming Back To Me Now," first recorded by Pandora's Box and then made famous with Celine Dion's cover. Jim also worked with Def Leppard, Barbra Streisand, Billy Squier and The Sisters of Mercy. You wanna talk about accomplishments ... for 3 straight weeks in 1983, Jim was responsible for the #1 and #2 songs on Billboard -- 'Total Eclipse' was in the top spot, and 'Making Love' was second. Steinman was 73. https://www.tmz.com/2021/04/20/rock-legend-jim-steinman-dead-dies-meat-loaf/

Social justice extremists are really dangerous. They spin a lot of the historical problems of their society into this idea that government can run without certain people in society (namely, police forces and military). Their argument has gained fuel in light of the scandals that have taken place in these particular fields. The culture needs to be fixed, but it's not the presence of police and/or military per se that is the poison.

Dazzle, I mean you can say the same about Far right extremists. I think all extremists whether left or right, can be detrimental to Canadian society.

  10. Yeah - I thought that was a peculiar way to phrase it as well! I identify as a rich person - but alas I am in a poor man's body lol.
  11. If that is true, why didn't the NHL with all their money, vaccinate the players, coaches and other staff?
  12. Interesting, I was leaning to the Johnson & Johnson one as it's a single dose. "Unlike the mRNA used in Pfizer and Moderna’s products, Johnson & Johnson is a non-replicating viral vector vaccine similar to AstraZeneca’s. That means it uses a different harmless virus, which can’t copy itself, as a vector to give our cells the instructions they need to make the coronavirus’s spike protein. The immune system recognizes the protein and makes antibodies, which then allow us to fend off attack if exposed in the future" Yes, mRNA does sound like the way to go as it's basically an instruction set for our body to produce anti bodies against covid. My dad also got the Moderna.
