I believe that's a pic of his old man in the Goon movie.

Canucks had the all rookie line in 1978 of Fraser, Gradin and Smyl - one of the better lines in Canucks history.
-
Watching his highlights, I don't see any Grabner-type speed but visions of a harder-working, more responsible Petr Klima did enter my mind.

Prospects camp was held at UBC last year.

My opinion only on why Tryamkin left - WD decision to play Stecher more than him. Both were 22 yo rookies, one's 6'7", the other 5'10". Stecher got off to a great start. Try had fitness issues. However, I feel, in the long run and maybe the 2nd half of that year, Tryamkin is/was the better player yet Stecher was a WD favourite. Granted, Stecher had the better work ethic but I feel Try had the much better upside. Who has the better chance to be an All-Star? Chara or Rafalski?

I remember that HNIC interview. Amazing.

I want to watch Michigan vs Harvard next year, just to see Hughes vs Rathbone.

I think Gradin had a major say in the EP selection. I spoke to him outside Rogers before the December Predators game and he seem to indicate that EP was a better player than Henrik at the same age. He really liked EP.

Based on previous Cup run couple (or was it 3) years ago, only Virtanen played in the playoffs. Hutton had one regular season game, then sent back to the gym. McCann watched from the stands. So IMO, Jasek should be playing , given his nice debut. Lind should play some regular games but playoff games would depend on the injury situation and the airdrops from the Nucks.
-
After watching the above video, I have these questions: 1) Of his 56 points, how many were on the power play? 2) Will he get deployed on the Nucks' powerplay right from the start? 3) How was his 5x5 play? 4) How good is the average SHL goaltender vs NHL goaltender? 5) Will he debut like Backstrom (69 pts in 82 games), Forsberg (50 pts in 47 games) or like Berglund (47 pts in 82 games) and Henrik (29 pts)?

I like Sutter's game. Being a +5 on a matchup line says a lot about his play. Just read about his 'true fan' comment. It's a nothingburger.

A sign of how good Boeser's season has been - last night Tarasenko just scored his 29th and 30th goals. Boeser hit 29 almost a month ago.
-
Potential problem if all 4 are on the same PP - there's only one puck.
-
I still say he reminds me of Martin Gelinas - similar size, high work rate, scoring most of his goals near the net. He should be good in the corners also since his dad Ulf made his living there. It's in his DNA.

Vanek 2.0?

what about the submarine move he pulled on the second player? Shades of Marchand on Daniel and Salo.
-
Don't like that huge charge out of nowhere, nor that Marchand-like submarine move on the second player.

I wonder if he's ever been paired up with Dahlin. Same team, right?
-
I believe Bouchard was the new guy on the Knights defence that Juolevi was helping out early last season. Also, Dahlen shoots left.
-
Interesting, MacEwen is 6-16-22 in 42 games. Last year, Virtanen in Utica was 9-10-19 in 65 games.
-
Most likely scenario that Gaudette gets a few games. Boeser wasn't the only college guy to play out the season last year - Molino also.
-
Prospects also regress ie.Cassels.
-
Great goal by EP, shows what he's capable of doing, but that was garbage time at 6-2. Don't think he should attempt those moves against a Shea Weber-type of defender. Best goal ever in this tournament was scored by a 16 year old Gretzky against the Czechs in 77 or 78.

how many shoulder injuries now?
