  1. Friday or Saturday this week. 3 or 4 days after his 19th birthday is my guess.
  2. So the Canucks waited until his 19th birthday to sign him to a contract.
  3. Wow, Canuck picks get POTW in both OHL and WHL. Looks good.
  4. Like I mentioned previously, Lind reminds me more of Blake Comeau (2nd rounder, ex-Kelowna Rocket, played in WJC) than Linden.
  5. For some reason, Blake Comeau (ex-Rocket, 2nd rounder, WJC roster player) was the first name that popped into mind when watching his highlights. Hope I'm wrong although Comeau has played 641 games, which is pretty good for a 2nd rounder..
  6. I believe the 1981 team had Canucks picks Garth Butcher, Moe Lemay and Frank Caprice...................................... Exactly.
  7. Wasn't EP one of the younger players on the Swedish WJC roster? (which would explain his low production)
  8. Not the smallest player drafted by the Canucks. Anyone remember Bobby Lalonde? http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=2921
  9. Looks like size is available at 33 - 6'6" Isaac Ratcliffe, LW and 6'5'' Nic Hague, D. Hockey News rated them 20 and 22.
  10. Re Vilardi, it's telling that Detroit didn't pick him when he was just playing across the river in Windsor and could scout him readily.
  11. I seem to remember Peter Forsberg was 167 lbs when drafted by Philly way back when.
  12. ok, 334th place. Wonder where's Eddie Hatoum's rank.
  13. With his size and the type of game he plays, he might be prone to injuries unless he bulks up a bit.
  14. A few more inches and Brown's stick would have beheaded Boeser.
  15. Just looked at the Comets stats page - rather shocked when comparing Labate's ppg vs JV's - 0.45 vs 0.29. (JL - 29 gp 13 pts; JV - 56 gp 16 pts) I like both players but wow.
  16. They could form 2 Amex lines then. Actually the Labate-Shore-Boucher line was quite decent vs the Wild.
  17. I'm hoping for a Tarasenko clone but he won't be getting the ink or pp time that BB will get next year.
  18. He's losing his chance to be the shiny new toy if Boeser signs.
  19. How competitive are the Granlund brothers? like the other brother combo we have? Back home in the summer, Mikael will have the bragging rights this year but what about next year?
  20. Rhetorical question - when's Canucks next home game?
  21. My 2 cents on the last couple pages - I keep seeing Martin Gelinas as a model for Dahlen. 5-11, 195 in his prime. 63 goals in first yr of junior. (Involved in Gretzky trade.) Formed kid line with Joe Murphy, Adam Graves. Won Stanley Cup on first try. 4 times Cup Finalist with 4 different teams - Oilers, Canucks, Canes, Flames. Scored 3 series-winning goals in 2004. Great corner man (like Dahlen's old man), scored most of his goals close to the net. Topped out with 30 and 35 goal seasons with the Nucks. Horvat at 21 better than Sedins at 21, although I don't see an Art Ross or NHL top 20 scoring in him, Maybe consistent 50-65 pt years with occasional 2017 Kopitar-like year.
  22. Goldobin has such a heads-up erect style of skating that on highlights he looks taller than he actually is. Hoping he's an Alexander Yakushev-type of player for you old-timers out there.
  23. Highlights didn't reveal much. Decent skater but did he even score? He's got the Ovie spot on the PP but his shot needs work. Kassian without the snarl? a better skating Grenier? One good point at the end - diving to sweep puck away a sure empty net goal. Utica-bound at end of season? Maybe one or two non-playoff games. (I seem to remember JV, Hutton, McCann on roster during the big playoff year but only JV saw post-season action.)
  24. Yeah, I read that he took Goldy out for dinner. Goldy exposed?
  25. Tryamkin still not over the mumps?
