  1. He’s a caveman from Lithuania which makes that like caveman times infinity
  2. I disagree. guy has his chin tucked he created distance which you would think would be an advantage for chara but as we see he times chara over the top. and to be perfectly honest I wouldn’t consider that a haymaker in the context of hockey. Was pretty straight after he had to come over the arm of chara and there wasn’t much of a wind up - he pretty much shot from the hip which is part of the makeup of an effective punch. then there was meathead chara fighting with ego - his whole head and chin waiting to be broken. i also didn’t see what I would consider a clinch. would this happen 9/10 times? Probably not. but from start to finish if you consider from the hit onward it appeared this kid knows how to fight and chara was not aware of that.
  3. Three players on the fwd roster I have zero interest in watching.... ugh.... and now Hughes out..... and it’s the coyotes.....could this game have any less appeal.
  4. Having a leafs fan in the family gives many opportunities to publicly shame that family member that ya probably don’t really like that much anyway. amirite
  5. To be fair. and I’ll date myself here, there was a time when people would argue about hockey in person
  6. This is a thoughtful post. I believe you. i disagree with you. here is why: I believe, at least for me, that part of living is feeling a win or a loss. i play hockey and to this day I feel that the reason that wins are/were so great is because the losses are/were so destroying.
  7. There is panic for sure. im in the “concerned” camp. im also in the Benning camp. I really want him to survive to see the fruits of his labour. but yeah. Legit held breaths imo.
  8. Forgive me if I dont recall who the hawks have traded away at forward or what prospects they have traded to improve their s corps - which still sucks like ours. we have already done this with Miller and Toffoli. There are no picks to trade that will garner help on d. trade boeser: everybody's default answer nowadays. We finally have a shooter like brock so now let’s trade him. Oh but he is injured and is now a variable to regain his rookie form. I love brock. I hope he comes back 100% healthy and contributes in which case why trade him? Or if he doesn’t and is no longer the sniper Brock then what do we get for him in a trade? i mean as right as you are that everything could work out it’s easily within view to see the chance that this team becomes chronically mediocre going forward.
  9. Except for the part where two vets took lazy positional penalties and cost us the game.....
  10. All true. But his moves at forward are too far ahead of the moves or lack thereof at the back end.
  11. Imo it’s pretty sad if that’s what it takes to improve the D. addition by subtraction. so now instead of developing through the draft, JB’s strong suit, we will have traded picks and in this case Boeser for Miller and Toff and whatever hypothetical defensive help we need.
  12. Is this confirmed? And considering he has been scratched in the khl what type of chance does he have here at making an impact defending against goals. We all know he has impactful size but so did Tom sestito. JB has more or less gone all in via trade to get us into the playoffs. That’s fine. I like playoffs. but our all in defence is a seven deuce in measurable skill atm.
  13. My biggest concern is how terrible our d is, currently, and what will be over the next 2 to few years. how much tread can we eke out of Edler and Tanev next year!?!? It seems that after Hughes there is a big gap between what is “developing” on the back end and what is actually nhl ready let alone playoff type ready dmen. no first and second round picks now. legit concern imo no matter what your relationship with Benning is.
