And congratulations to Troy Stecher on his Silver Medal playing for Canada! I'm sure in a few years it'll feel more like a win than a loss.

The choice is to cheer to remove the one team ahead of us in the Sad Club, making Vancouver and Buffalo the only ones left at the top. Or cheer for the team that beat us in the Final of 2011, with the help of questionable officiating backed up by a Bruin old boys club in head office. Including the fact that they have much of the same core as they did back then, while us, after eight long years are STILL barely starting a rebuild. Including the fact that Marchand plays for them. I think I'll accept the resignation of the Blues from the Sad Club rather than watching Marchand lift the Cup again. Besides the Blues are THE MOST CANADIAN TEAM playing. Not just of the two teams playing, but in the entire league. Go Canada Go!

Ah yes. I remember as a kid watching my Dad watch on our B&W TV. I miss that clean white look all around the boards as well. No distractions from the drama on the ice. Too bad they couldn't get all the ad revenue from TV ads, and pay per view. No going back now. We even have the virtual ads above the goals as if we didn't have enough commercial distractions.

WOOOOOOOO! We beat the juggernaut Switzerland! Seriously didn't really deserve the win. Swiss were getting way more dangerous chances all day. Canada guilty of playing down to (what they thought) their opponents. Gotta suck for Switzerland. Less than a second to advance. Hieidi's crying somewhere.

I admit I didn't research a lot on injuries. I assumed he was fine, but I see he did get a shoulder injury in the last game of the playoffs now. (kind of sucks for him) My point was that there are more than a handful of top Canadian players declining this year. I could also add the Leafs, Marner and Rielly to the list.

That kind of goes without saying. No one said its not a sacrifice. I'm not hating on them, I just said I was disappointed. Russia has pretty well every high end NHL Russian player that isn't still playing, on their team. I would have loved to watch MacKinnon on the big ice.

I was talking about Yannick

Now 5 - 1 in the second Russia vs Sweden. edit....as I write its 6 - 1. Russia is a juggernaut. Disappointing that more top Canadians declined.. I understand Crosby, Toews. Keith. They've paid their dues, and probably now as older vets need the rest, but where is MacKinnon, McDavid, Suban, Scheifele, even Stamkos could have signed up. Hall Benn Weber....

Hockey God? That's a big myth But there's got to be a Hockey Devil for the Bruins to so easily sweep the Canes like that. It's about aggressiveness. I forget what reporter asked coach Cassidy exactly before the series, but it was something like " How are you going to react to, or deal with, or answer to the Hurricanes game..?" Something like that. And Cassidy answers " is not about how we will answer them, because it's that they will always answer to us. We'll set the pace." In other words "We are the ones that knock" Gotta hand it to them, you'd better not be playing at only 90%, because they are playing at 100. And if you play at 100, they'll turn it up to 110%. They were always on the puck first. Still hate them with a passion and hope San Jose can finish off the Blues in 5. And then beat the bears.

There was also this game from last October. Doesn't involve a goal, but it does involve a call missed, and the refs calling Toronto to review the play for them that Toronto doesn't usually (ever?) help with. They called a high sticking on a Wild player, but missed the call on Guddy who highsticked a Wlid player at almost the same time. Instead of just calling what they saw in the moment (and not seeing Guddy's infraction) Toronto reviewed it in ultra slow motion for them and surprise...found the Guddy high stick and told them, and so they evened up the penalties. They used the excuse that they knew there was a high stick, but didn't know which player it was, and were only asking for that info. Sure, likely story. If they didn't see who did it, how did they even see an infraction? But more important, how can they use Toronto to retroactively make that call for them? But a hand pass leading to a game deciding playoff goal you can't?

Seriously. It's all so closed door. Not a good sign when they took the refs names of their sweaters. How do they get jobs or move up? How much is favouritism, nepotism? Or do the truly best and most deserving get the job? We have no way of knowing. Also, when do they retire? When they literally cannot see two feet in front of their face or lace their own skates?

Too bad Giants. You had your moments this season that's for sure. You made it a long great run. I think the best team tonight won though. Raiders kept coming in waves, Giants playing mostly defend and dump for some reason

SportsNet sitting on the rights, refusing to broadcast the game, but not letting anyone else either. #@#%&%!

Go Louie Go! Enough to fool some other GM into taking you on for a bag of pucks.

Tony Stretcher ...badda bing! How about that Mark Stone. Sixth round pick. He was on a mission. Almost feel sorry for the home crowd. What a heartbreaker for them. At least its not a playoff round.

And another uncalled (tripping) penalty leads to an odd man rush and yet another Boston goal. 3 - 0. The Hockey Gods, both up there, and those that think they are Gods, in New York, have decided who is winning this. Might as well just wait until this series is over and its Boston vs San Jose, where at least it might be a 50/50 fight between the God's, from either domain, and may balance out.

Feel sorry for GB. But I suppose if we ever squeeked into the FIFA World Cup, and faced GB in the first round, we'd get it back in spades.
