  1. Agreed. We camp at Little Qualicum sometimes and go to Coombs from time to time, so I sort of know the area. Heading to Sproat lake this year. I'll know to not plan on stopping here for ice cream on the way.
  2. I was following this last night. Apparently there were no fire hydrants in the area so they had to truck in the water.
  3. I don't know if the Leafs would care, but Holtby's contract was back loaded. They would have to pay $5.7M on that $4.3M cap hit. Also, he does have a modified NTC. Apparently it's only a 4 team no trade list, but I wonder what 4 teams that might be?
  4. Your post made me think. So I went to hockeydb and did a little research. Of course, this would depend on your definition of "making the NHL". First, I went a few years out as most players that aren't first rounders will wind up back in Junior or University or wherever they were drafted from. So I only looked at the 2017 through 2013 draft. Also, many of those that made it to the NHL only got to play a handful of games, or sometimes just a single game. Just for comparison I counted how many players from those 5 years have played at least 1 game and how many have played at leas
  5. Kesler hasn't retired yet. He is still under contract and on LTIR for one more season.
  6. This game is crazy.  I feel like it's going to wind up 9-8 in OT or something like that.

  7. If nothing else, I will be cheering for the Habs to break the years-since-a-Canadian-team-has-won-the-Cup streak. Plus, they did me a favour by eliminating the Leafs, so there's that.
  8. Agree on point one. Disagree on point two. He doesn't deserve an easy out. He needs to spend the rest of his days locked up, thinking about what he has done. Also, due to the length of the process and the number of appeals, apparently it is cheaper to keep someone in prison for life than it is to sentence them to death.
  9. From the NHL rule book... "Charging shall mean the actions of a player who, as a result of distance traveled, shall violently check an opponent in any manner. A “charge” may be the result of a check into the boards, into the goal frame or in open ice." I'm not sure how it could be anything but charging. It wasn't necessary. It wasn't going to prevent the goal. And now the Jets will have to play without him. This may sink the Jets for the series and if nothing else, Scheifele should have thought of that before he decided to demolish Evans.
  10. It's not about your title. It's about the NHL. They announce them as finalists, and play them up as finalists, even though the voting has already completed.
  11. This is my annual rant on this. They are not finalists. There is no final vote. The votes have already been cast and the winner has been chosen. These are simply the top three vote getters.
  12. Saw this ad on Victoria Varage Sale tonight...

  13. Troy Stecher and Team Canada about to take on Latvia in their first game of the World Championships.  Go Canada Go!
