The Coyotes have a three game split-squad day on Saturday as part of 5 games in three nights. They probably just needed all these guys to be able to fill the rosters.

or better yet, Myers terminates his contract of 6M cap hit + 1M in salary, and than resigns with the Canucks at 2M cap + salary.
4M cap savings and Myers gets an extra million in his pocket!
Is this a CBA loop hole?
I don't know all the rules around contract termination, but I do know that they can't just re-sign with the same team. It's probably to prevent issues like the NHL had with Yashin who would hold out, while under contract, until the team renegotiated that contract. But it also works to avoid situations like you described.

One could make the argument for the 1968, 1969 & 1970 Stanley Cup Finals.
With the expansion from the Original Six, the expansion teams were on one side of the bracket and the existing teams were on the other, thus guaranteeing that an expansion team would be in the final. In all three years, the Blues were swept by the Canadiens ('68 & '69) or the Bruins ('70).

I just found out, Carbery is from Victoria and played junior hockey for both the Cowichan Valley Capitals and the Penticton Panthers.

I'm guessing it's a typo. Nobody seems to want to proofread anymore.

What happened there? It was like Daly never announced the pick but Weekes was already talking about it? Or did I miss something?

I'm no Bruins fan, but that shouldn't have been called back. He didn't pass the puck with his hand, he barely touched it as he was trying to get up.
These nit-picky calls are ruining the game.

Chances are, he will be looking for another GM role and we currently have a GM.

I have no loyalty to any American team, so when the Canucks are out, I might as well cheer for the Canadian teams. Except Toronto. I could never bring myself to cheer for Toronto, even if they were the last team in the country (although the media already reports on them as if they were).

The Pittsburgh Penguins have relieved President of Hockey Operations Brian Burke, General Manager Ron Hextall and Assistant General Manager, Chris Pryor of their duties, it was announced today by Fenway Sports Group.
John Henry and Tom Werner issued the following statement:
"We are grateful to Brian, Ron, and Chris for their contributions to the organization over the past two seasons, but we feel that the team will benefit from new hockey operations leadership. While this season has been disappointing, we believe in our core group of players and the goal of contending for the Stanley Cup has not changed."
The search for new hockey operations leadership will begin immediately.
During this transition, the managerial duties of hockey operations will be shared among current Director of Hockey Operations, Alec Schall, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton General Manager/Manager of Hockey Operations, Erik Heasley and Hockey Operations Analyst, Andy Saucier. Head Coach Mike Sullivan will also assist during the transition.
The Penguins missed the playoffs for the first time in 17 years, ending the longest-active playoff streak among teams in North American professional sports. The streak included three Stanley Cup Championships (2009, '16, '17), four Stanley Cup Final appearances and five trips to the Eastern Conference Final. This is only the second time since Sidney Crosby made his NHL debut in 2005-06 that the Penguins did not qualify for the postseason.

Also congrats to @RU SERIOUS for correctly predicting the final score.

Yup. I took the opportunity to update my jersey number.
I'll have the first PTSC thread up a few days before game 1.
