  1. How loyal are NHL'ers?

Imagine the US economy/$ crashed, & it's no longer the world's reserve currency? Brit Central banker Mark Carney suggested this, just after the G7 debacle in France.

Say the Russian/Chinese currencies went ballistic..would pursuit of Lord Stanley still mean as much?

How many hired guns(w/ a Jagr spirit) run off in pursuit of whatever currency runs the whole show?

They've suggested SOME currencies might even be backed by gold, someday.

NHL would be affected by world economics more than any of the 4 major NA'n sports, I'd wager.

Hey @Ghostsof1915 don't you find it weird, all these militant RFA's suddenly holding out for contracts, where they once(recent past) had to 'pay their dues'?

You'd almost figure their agents must be all giving them the same advice, at the same time? Those types must know what the economy has in store, & maybe they're advising the choice RFA's to grab that $$$, fast as you can?

Does it presage a labour war, and/or dramatic downturn for the wider economy? At what point does a little rancor enter in between players(NHLPA, namely) at diff ages/stages of their careers?

@SabreFan1 On your first sentence/para, it's so hard to speak in absolutes, these days. Who can say how things will play out?

1 possibility: How 'bout perhaps 6-10 countries putting their heads/banks together, & creating a new world currency? I could see Russia, China, couple more Asian, or resource-rich nations warming to that. The catch would be you have to bring something tangible to the table.

Because the status quo has largely prevailed for so many decades, I don't think many can visualize the kind of changes comin' down the pike...

Pretty sure any move against using the petrodollar will result in war.

The complex won't tolerate such insubordination.

I'm struggling to figure out where Trump sits in their plans and how domestic unrest / conflict in the US serves their agenda. Maybe that economy is the perfect one to vacuum? Is civil war beneficial to their long game?

If Trump wasn't serving a purpose to the real powers that be, he'd be dead. That's the biggest reason my tinfoil hat is so big and shiny right now
