  1. Would guess in light of the Seth Jones/RyJo larceny, these types of transactions will become increasingly rare.
  2. This here thread is pretty much wasted. Like to make these kind(prediction types) where we can all glance back at what was called; yet this whole COVID thing pretty much mangled the outlook. In truth, figure the Laffs were gonna make the dance, but mostly because the Cats/goalie Bob were so horrendous(& their Div a joke). From the very start, with AM's embarrassing Ariz-antics & the Babcock drama, that overhyped machine was a misfiring clunker.
  3. Potentially the best Van GM ever.
  4. Will folks come to realize who is our stealth-superstar?.. Gent Jim, of course!
  5. That's cool. He's a big name in US puck coverage. Maybe the American version of Montreal's late, legendary Red Fisher.
  6. Thanks man. I recall reading Hockey Digest articles by Stan Fischler back in the late 1970's. Glad to see he's taken note. He sure would know how Green was guided/influenced by the legendary Arbour(with Stan always in the NY market/area)
  7. There's more of an early 90's vibe with this outstanding cast, than the teams of a decade back. Maybe it's just that our key pieces/thrust are youth(mostly in '94 too)? No real comparables to the depth in youth now however, nor eliteness of a QH's type. Also feel this team is more respectful(& respected by opponents.. that'sstill building, of course). Whereas a decade back we had a few players that were not exactly appreciated outside of the BC market(to put it mildly). This team has dealt with an abundance of off-ice sadness & adversity. They've bonded well, in the true definition of team. I'm very proud that all of Canada will be watching this great collection of talent & character. JB's genius will be duly realized, as all puck-lovin' markets will come to see what he's constructed.
  8. Don't know why I try to help these hapless outfits? Chalk it up to the sweet goodness of my heart. But hey, Cdn puck fans pay thru the nose, & do(mostly) deserve better. Here's a deal I bet would benefit both Cow & Hog towns. Step #1: Laffs should gas Dubas. Go back to Hunters? Don't know..but get a proper hockey GM in there. Then... Laffs: Lil' Marner & Freddy Andersen. (about 16 mill outgoing). The Marner deal was a disaster. But after his Huuge bonus, they'll have paid out 30 mill in 15 mos. Hogtown seems to like throwin $$$ down the loo. Cowtown can't attract such flashy talent in UFA form. So get a big ticket item this way. The 'tender has only 1 more yr, so Lames can audition this guy, where they've long been weak. 'Lames: Johnny Hokey, Rasmus Andersson, Dave Rittich (about 14,000,000 $ outgoing) I like Andersson on D, seems very solid If Johnny doesn't like Hogtown, they can max retain & send him south(TDL?) for picks/youth. This is how they should create way more cap space. Leave Captain PJ's & Willy Nylly to rot on this sad sack squad. Build some muscle, speed & D around these 2. Make these guys earn those big paycheques! Next they should deal Matthews down to the States, as well. Pick up another stud D & youth/picks. Their experiment(BADLY!) failed. 40 mill on 4 fwds is ludicrous. They won't do these things, but I sure think they ought to!
  9. Think I got 3 or 4 series? Is there somewhere we can get a final tally?
  10. Nowadays Murray has become a lump. Which hi-lights a trend here(just look at the last few winning Cup 'tenders)..that is, 'tender shelf-lives appear to be shortening more quickly every yr. Starting to wonder if the right 'tender coach is more important than yer F***ing tandem?!
  11. Back to the drawing board for these Hogtown schmoes. Step #1 is gas Kale Dubious!
  12. All of Canada must indeed look WEST for INSPIRATION!!! edit: btw, that media propaganda worked on many. Lots of folks forecast the Fleas to top the Cdn entries.
  13. YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So PROUD of these guys! WTG Vancouver CANUCKS!!!
  14. Thanks, being outa' country, don't recall viewing that. There's been so much bile & petty tripe, we can forget some of their antics that happened(keeps adding up). I'm certain that KB3 was attentively keeping score! :^)
  15. "His own man" indeed. That's why I figure he's asserting his way, early-on. They(corporate entity) offer a contract on HIS terms, not vice-versa. This is an interesting bloke(Dos Equis level!)..who won't stand being beholden to typical sports journo-limits. Why should they apply to such a unique bloke with hands-on experience in the bigs?! It's toooo good for us Van fans. So figure it won't last :^(
  16. & he's still got tonnes of material. Should recycle it & open a curtains/drapes shop!
  17. This has been such a blast..every tilt. Even Juice's astute & hilarious insights. The team comes away from this whole Edmunchuk-experiment, smellin' like a rose(one would have to guess). Just keep rollin' tomorrow pls...
  18. Yeah, just watched it again. My guess is KB3 is saying a hearty FU to the big machine. He's a guy that doesn't really need the bread. Must grind the gears of the other league lackeys, trying to maintain their thin veneer of "professionalism". So prob someone said to Juice recently, "Hey man, you shouldn't say this/that while on air. We want you to do..yada, yada..." Or maybe Rotten Ronnie whined as KB threw Burr's name at his face the other day(players w/strong stick discussion). Who knows?.. So instead of quietly going away. Kevin shows his expertise in various segments, peppered with great anecdotes & natural humour. Next he'll push the envelope 'til everyone's squirming, then flip the bird(to everything that's publicly greasy & ultra-evil corporate) with excessive don't-giva'-shyte irreverence, exiting on his own terms. Essentially the precise opposite of everything these lackey media wh*res/league insiders would do, given his opportunities! :^)
  19. How do I choose for BOTH to lose in 4 straight?! Don't really care. Hate 'em both..not even gonna guess.
  20. Posters here were forecasting this about a decade back. What's interesting is KB3 will never be one toe the company line. He's a free spirit, outspoken & intelligent..all this pkg'd with undeniable charisma. Then he loves the team big media seems to hate. Somewheres down the line there's gonna be a blow up. He should just take over Garret's gig, down the road.
  21. Legend has it, they did somethin' baaaad to Lord Stanley's Mug back in '89...
