  1. @SilentSam Are you mixing conversion/conversation? Not sure whether it's a noun/verb back there(?), & I mighta' broke my brain.
  2. Still very proud of these guys. They're giving it their all. At least it was (somewhat) reasonably officiated.. & most of the dirty, dangerous crap seems curtailed. Let's get the big W tomorrow!
  3. It's called Global Dimming. Reduction in economic activity/less pollution & aerosols in recent months. There was an excellent BBC doc on this phenmenon in 2006 Btw temps up to 41 degrees last couple days in Japan...
  4. EP had a 5pt game vs Allen in Fall, 2018. Just before they took off last season. At that time, guy's play was a dawg's breakfast.
  5. How can the avg bloke hold an informed opinion when western media has long been full of s***?
  6. Poor ol' Bogopogo! Guy drafted(3rd OA. no less!) back in '08..finally getting his FIRST ever PO action. Noticed he was given an assist on their 1st p marker. Imagine waiting 12 yrs to get the first PO point? Wonder what the record is, from yr being drafted?
  7. BroonGoon room must really stink(lit & fig), to the degree that Tuuko would rather be at home changin' baby dipes. It's understandable...
  8. I've long been an advocate for carrying 7D into many games(maybe 30-50 games of a reg season). Perhaps this PO's it's too late/sudden for such a move. But isn't it possible we can train a depth D-man to have the versatility to play 4th line W? I could see a guy like Stecher capably contributing as a p.t. fwd. Nice to have an ace up the sleeve for situations like tonight's.
  9. Agree with this take. Tried to be a big JV-backer myself, but this kid does himself no favours. He's wasted too many opportunities. Now with the depth, team's in a position to let him go.
  10. THIS is the man who kicked off the Stealth Rebuild! This is the team that will shut up the Haterz. This was a moment we've been waiting 5 yrs for!!!
  11. YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :^)
  12. 2 teams in trubs..Hicktown & Hogtown do biz Johanssen(retain 1 mill, for 5 yrs), Dante Fabbro, 2020 1st 11 OA pick, 2020 2nd TML: Matthews
  13. Thanks, watched a few mins & commentators were discussing their 2018 run..thought they said Eller was doing it again(maybe they were lookin ahead?)
  14. Love how the Laffs gifted a #13OA to sweep another moldy contract under the dirty carpet.
  15. Contrasting the Vancouver & Hogtown scenarios at this juncture, makes for mighty mouth-watering schadenfreude. SNET(& prob all puck media..I don't really pay attn closely) has gone into a high speed wobble todday, to defend/explain away the Laffs' deficiencies. Yet whenever Van's had any issue or hiccup(going back many yrs) the media knives have come out. Always ready to pounce on any opportunity. At the end of the day, the sporting MSM collectively comes across as an insufferable, monolithic troll. It drives various regions(namely, in Canada) to hate each other..& perhaps that suits the riggeddeckleague just fine? ******************************** Which brings us to the point of these threads, like the esteemed @Robert Long has laid out here. It's become a necessity for CDC to constantly reinforce the positives(whether in the now, or near future); there's so much BS-disinformation in the mainstream, the casual fan wouldn't make heads or tails of it all. Lame sites(like that notorious one we oft refer to) piggyback upon the hogwash the press has pushed. More trolls pretending to back our young beauties. It shouldn't have to be this way, but almost any thread I've started has been partly motivated by desire to offset/contrast the persistent negativity(& outright BS) propagated in the mainstream.
  16. Apparently Nik Backstrom left in the 1st period, & didn't return. They moved Eller to C Isles 1st goal was weak. Holtby continues his recent spiral. NYI have some big bods up front..this could get tough for the league darlins.
  17. Some of the kids the number was too optimistic..whereas some others have exceeded their ceilings already!
  18. @DarkIndianRises Bumping an old thread I started, as we all looked ahead to this very issue. It's interesting because we STILL have all the kids that were listed. Highlights that we've stuck with our youth, despite the usual roster-turnover.
  19. Yeah the Laffs are a great case study on how never to throw pearls at Hogtown swine..We've been kicking this around for quite some time, DIR. Last yr's finalists had the books in pretty good order The COVID break might actually help. Far easier to justify reasonable bridges for our ELC stars. Let's give'em lots of juicy endorsement product deals too(I'm sure the Aquas know local biz folks eh?)
  20. The original deal was a lil' bigger. Involved about 90 players, 1.5 billion & a bus...
  21. There's no argument that the Oilers drafting has to be amongst the best ever. Having suffered thru them 80's(hating that rival), a person can't forget. Suppose the only question would be the degree to which their star C's enhanced the whole stash. Then factor in how they(statistically) feasted on a def LOUSY division/conf; & they had almost a whole decade without any key skater injuries. Gretz was marvelling at this fact in his biography, that Prov columnist Jim Taylor wrote. He attributed EDM's excellent ice as possibly the greatest reason. Yeah, a lot of things came together for that outfit, in a short period. Lucky that Peter Puck ran outa' bread...
