  1. Had to happen..threatened the owner if he didn't get his money, ta-day!
  2. Beat Minny first. We need to finish off last yr's deal(at draft)
  3. After seeing his 1st game, said wouldn't trade this kid straight-up for McD. Stand by that today..a COMPLETE GEM, & all ours!
  4. Haven't seen a tonne of Olli play, but do see some Edler in him. Maybe his demeanor with interviews, as well? Seems to fit that N Euro,big-bodied, yet soft-spoken D. Betting Alex will be an excellent mentor, handing off his torch to his heir-apparent. Should he go on to replicate #23's career, we'd all have to be pretty pleased. With QH's dynamic style, the Canucks would prob prefer OJ becomes a dependable, 20-30 pt, smart & solid D-man. Bet that fits his personality too. A team needs such balance on the blueline, & it fits in well within an overall cap structure. The injuries have certainly hampered his progress, but I bet this profile of player prob needs to get into his young 20's to really start asserting himself(on the pro scene)
  5. Imagine the media-bombast/frenzy if such daytime soap drama occurred in a Cdn market?! 'Dem Sunbelt lowlifes are financially supported(shoddy rev-sharing system) to run a 3-ring circus. League could've been many times better, had they respected the regions that love(& understand) the game. Instead they turned it into some Cdn $ laundering, Southern welfare-shakedown. Of course inserting clowns in key positions is part & parcel...
  6. It's 31, as per Baskin Robbins' demands, as they're paying for the whole tourney!
  7. No worries, with overpriced Cdn tix & merch, we've "grown the game" in the deserts & sub-tropics!
  8. Gonna be very tough to sell contracts(around 3 mill+) this off-season. Four or five eastern teams(with lots of space) will have their phones ringing off the hook. Then you have to wonder how many teams will entertain the notion of buyouts? With the COVID-downturn, how many rich owners will flush $ down the loo? If there's a long run for Van, one can imagine the appeal of a vet/youth, (that is, stronger prospect) pkg. I'm guessing our prospects must be gaining value, as a comparatively stronger currency(vs many other team's youngins'). Rival GM's must be also contemplating whether there are more worthwhile gems in JB/Brackett's stash of mid-to-later selections. I'd prefer we sell some(overflow/excess) in prospects, saving our picks when it's possible.
  9. @Canuck Surfer Funny man, had this playing the past half hr. Also love his bluesy number, "Feeling Good". Solo albums "Little Dreamer" & "In The Skies" are good stuff. There are so many rare gems on Youtube I never woulda' known. He & the Mac cut a couple sweet albums with Blues pianist Eddie Boyd. They're a great listen. Or his tribute album(w/ The Splinter Group) to 1930's blues legend, Robert Johnson..powerful So I got the twanging, syrupy guitar of Peter playing Albatross, accompanied w/ the morning rhythm of Japanese cicadas. Bluesy Sunday mourning...
  10. Just read the legendary Fleetwood Mac guitarist/singer has passed on. Who many consider the greatest British blues guitar man. A true great.
  11. was reading that too..seems pretty vague. Doesn't pass the smell test
  12. Looks like Lanny drank too much & fell over?
  13. Yet today I'm reading(on Zerohedge) police chief is warning Seattle residents, "You are on your own", in light of upcoming Antifa protests. Keep reading about apparent anarchy in that neck of the woods. Is this not an issue at all?
  14. Should be a close, high-scoring affair. In goal, like that Shezgerkin guy over David Ayers. Canes are in a pickle.
  15. Cheering for the Grimy Cats here. Should the Fishmen fall, Ottawa's the beneficiary, as they hold the NYI 2020 1st(lotto-protected though) from the Pageau-heist. Wake up Bob, & let's go Cats.
  16. Hard to drum up a universal formula that applies evenly to all markets. I'd argue a fixated 24/7 Cdn one is quite different than a lazy, uninspired, rev-sharing-fed monster in the sunbelt. Would say JB has nicely adapted(learned on the go), as I'm pretty much on board w/ 85-90% of his creation. Would nitpick he overspent a bit in early trades/FAgency. Drafting is his wheelhouse & raison d'etre, that'll bring our boys to the promised land.
  17. Good comment. The hypocrisy of "the haterz" has also served as a type of motivation for some positive threads on JB's handiwork. Wouldn't be surprised if the players have also noted the bogus criticisms(& dbl standards) of JB from online, & even media sources. He seems to be getting complete buy-in from all acquired/drafted/signed assets.
