AWESOME!!! outa'townboard 2nite! -
You've gotta EARN it! If Van doesn't have the gusto, I'm hoping the other 3 Cdn western teams make the dance. All 4 would be the best. Tired of cheering for W rivals to fail. Just earn it.

Rank Cdn teams, for 2021 Div-Order
Nuxfanabroad replied to Nuxfanabroad's topic in General Hockey Discussion
Screw Hogtown, USA..but I'm cheering for all FOUR Western Cdn teams to make the dance! -
If they can't make the PO's... LTIR Baer & Fer. Promise Baer some FO opportunity(scouting in Switz, whatever?) PLEASE buy out BS, if no one will take him! Pkg(Stecher, Rouss &/or LouiE) to OTT for White. Then do the cheap buyout on him(next 10 yrs), next June 2021.

Melnyk, Sens Wound Up Looking Like Geniuses
Nuxfanabroad replied to Nuxfanabroad's topic in General Hockey Discussion
Was the league involved at all in hiring this Little guy for the CEO position? They prob promised him treasure/future opportunities to say publicly to Melnyk, what anyone would love to tell the guy! Gives them(another) good excuse to move this team, down the road. They've exploited the Ottawa fan, & just when this org is ready to really take off & soar, they'll send it all south of the border. Another scam where no franchise in Canada will be permitted to properly load up with youth/build a sustainable contender. The Nords all over again. Arena deal downtown? Nah, league cares not ONE IOTA about that market. They will NEVER allow a sale to another Cdn owner. S1: Load it UPPPPP with prime prospects, then STEP 2: C'Ya! & Yanks for nuthin'! Melnyk is their very useful idiot, & Ottawa fanbase is bein' played like a Clapton Fender -

@Ghostsof1915 Ha, that's awesome Ghosts. Would you believe I've still never seen that particular Bond flick?! Have you seen "The Yakuza" with Robert Mitchum & Takakura Ken? Highly acclaimed, directed by Sydney Pollack. If you haven't, strongly recommended. There's a youtube interview w/Pollack, just looked it up, entitled: The Yakuza 1974 Promises To Keep . Only about 20 mins Watched it a yr or two back..was pretty cool. & I hope some day you attend a Basho w/lovely Akiko-san too!

Here we are in Osaka, & it's time for the annual Sumo Basho. Toughest ticket you'll ever wish for in sporting history!! Indeed, only the invisible sumo ghosts & Gods in attendance today. Because no one's allowed to attend. Due to Covid19, they're playing out the matches on TV, with nary a soul in attendance. Missus & I at home watching on the tele. Man, this is a strange scenario. We're talking about a sport of religious & cultural significance, with roots like a first dated match of 640AD! It's such a wonderful live exp, that I've enjoyed twice in recent yrs. Hopefully this damned virus dies out, & we can all go back to a relatively normal day to day. Sad feeling, but admire the authorities/wrestlers in their determined effort to still see the tourney through. Hope this doesn't happen in hockey. But I trust the athletes to play out the season(hard), even if it's simply for cameras in empty arenas. Peace & health to all

It was a good time to start putting our key youth in important roles. Bet Bo will be even more comfortable by next Sept

[Article] Panthers set to retire Luongo's No. 1
Nuxfanabroad replied to Rubik's topic in General Hockey Discussion
Lots of talent..but too much ego/need for interaction there. In a passionate Cdn market, there's less reason to try & become Yogi Berra 2.0 Wasn't only him though..some excessive personalities on those strong teams were often stirring the pot. Bet the twins would've preferred low-profile, just stick to the task at hand thinking... -
Which is also nice. Let the Uni's develop them kids. Keep 50 contract slots available. Then sign 'em in 2019 when they're much closer to contributing! Also Alfer, you prob know how tough it is to get a good read on 18 yo D-men.

Well, let's WIN a Cup with Jacob..then we can lock this afterthought. PS..Hey Luuu..your contractual-priorities/principles are what actually "sucks". -
I heard he looked solid(pbp guy). JB gets slagged so much. All 3 College FA's he nabbed last Spring contributed to this W: Rafferty Kielly Teves That's like scoring 3 draft picks, gratis! Price is RIGHT! All the whining I've heard about how he's lost picks in various deals. Some like excessive WHIIIINE, when they could just stick a cork in it!
-
& they win! New kid gets the W in goal. Rafferty w/magic in OT!!!
-
Now tied at 2(Boucher again!) about 7 mins left

Ya, ya..nice reg season career, no doubt. When he started blabbing after game #5, it SUUUURE set off the nasty dominoes. Too much to say(all the time). Better to have them low key superstars, who do their talking on the ice. Save the stand up BS for when the career is done, if you must. -
There's a pun which nails it!
