  1. At the very least the hyperventilating on this very thread should diminish :^)
  2. Great to hear something positive on that kid. KL needs a solid 2nd half.
  3. Well, I resorted to the conditional to be anonymously evasive..so yeah, eh?! :^)
  4. If I were a Russian citizen, I'd hold a lot of respect for NT. I do anyways(as a Canadian). He's his own guy, with his own priorities. Won't assume what they are, cos' that's his biz. He's also got fine lookin' little Missus. The guy ain't starving. What more can a healthy young guy ask for?! Hope he returns to Van..stated as a Canucks-backer. Just what they need, imho
  5. Yeah..hockey NEEDS this deal to occur. I can't stomach another 12~15 mos of media/TML zombie-zealots hand wringing over the Maple Laffs cap-conundrum. Especially in a world on the cusp of major currencies going on par with tp...
  6. Feelin Jaded: Some sensationalist-clown could be chosen to lead such a corrupt, yet influential nation. 1,000,000 views for such a sorry sight. Just think of what's newsworthy, in a time like this. PS? ..People have to decide for themselves.
  7. Exhibit 529-b for how the west has jumped the shark.
  8. Alfer..we NEEEd the big Tree!
  9. It's a double-whammy, cos' what high-profile stars would want to stay in a one horse town? They have to overpay(or accept) mercurial talents. Same prob as dives like Edmonchuk.
  10. About to tangle with the BJ's, so had to bump. Owners made a nice move, bringing in toxic Torts. That really kicked off the stealth tank, & a healthy downwards-spiral. That disastrous season also clearly highlighted the NHL officiating(2 rulebooks) standards, & made clear that media would be doing us no favours. It seems Torts might be running into a familiar wall in Columbus. Within a coupla yrs most vets likely tune the guy out, completely. I saw the Flamers hang 9 on these guys(in their own barn!) last wk. Then shut out in key game vs the Caps. Torts lambasted his troops in the subsequent(usual) press-tirade. Interesting times in Ohio...
  11. You may well be right..could certainly be inconsistencies. Or maybe they were less than satisfied with his efforts at key times last season? They also were prob not too pleased with him moaning to media the first time around. Just back to the initial signing, can recall complaining about them UFA's, summer 2017. Remember some of us wanted more size/grit. Maybe there weren't enough of them types available?..whatever the case. Really like 80~90% of JB's work..but he botched a few signings. Certainly has improved, at least.
  12. Contrast this with how silent the media are when some of our top guys(like Baertschi) are taken out months by illegal head shots. ...Crickets Yet a demotion is newsworthy, huh? Wasn't Gagner demoted YEARS back by teams like the Flyers, ferGawdsakes? Never see any bleeding heart narratives when established US franchises decide to demote an underperforming vet. With all the positive vibes in BC right now over a young team on the rise, who(The Hell) is this tripe served up for anyways?(bet we all know the answer too)
  13. Best thing to utter is something like, "Yes, I'm disappointed. But I'll be a pro & work my tail off to get back to the best league in the world!" /end quote..nothing else needs to be said, or dredged from the murky bottoms.
  14. I just saw that, PB. Holy shyte..the 9 mill + overpaid whiner, running to the treacherous eastern media-lackeys. Unforgivable! His quote?.. "I've proven I belong." What a punk!
  15. Some aspiring hockey journalist(who cheers on Comets/Canucks): Should compile a list of Comets(over the past few yrs) who've been injured from dirty plays. I'm just one person(& indeed, people's memories may be skewed by factors like bias); yet it appears disproportionately high to me. Compile a list of all Comets injured. Then perhaps a few more teams for comparisons' sake. Got a feeling that might be pretty interesting to see. I suspect there's so much turnover in the AHL, fans memories gloss over these bad memories/events, moreso than the top league.
  16. ^ah, there you go.. there's the kind of garbage I've been referring too. Do we really want dangerous assaults like this for our top youth? Sure man..a tad sanctinmonious with the 2nd para...Then look what pops up 2 freeken posts down from yours! People need to stop being apologists for the intentional garbage that goes on. I'm tired of seeing our young guys subjected to dirty plays. Why must it be necc for the AHL team to take up spots with ECHL 'muscle'? Does this waste of development spots apply equally to all franchises? You don't like my comments..that's okay. Entitled opinion to one & all. I'm calling out a pattern of violence I've seen occurring, with an inordinate amount of dirty plays, vs our youth. As a fan, just voicing my opinion. Lastly, it might be better to move the team closer to home. Local media/fans will have a closer eye on what goes on at both levels.
  17. Won't speak for others, but I'm quite happy with the job the front office has done, turning around the fortunes(long term) of the franchise. The drafting of the past half-decade is something we Canuck-backers have never experienced(& I've been watching since the 70's). Also glad they finally got their own farm squad, back in 2013. I'd say it's done pretty well, considering prospect shelves were(at that time) pretty much emptied. The comment I made which likely drew attn, was regarding holding back top talent, if that (AHL)league features a bunch of idiot goons running amuck. So we need to take up 15-25% of the farm slots with matching goons to shepherd the youth? Umm..whatever. Fine, scour the ECHL for mouth breathers... I'm glad EP didn't get one whiff of that league. Neither will Hughes. OJ I trust Mgt will take all aspects into consideration.
  18. That doesn't entitle anyone to speak so disrespectfully about Van's Mgt hierarchy. Hell, even someone like Gretzky wouldn't go there. Van moving their AHL gig to Utica helped out their market tremendously. Even if both sides move on(down the road), show a lil' respect!
  19. Simultaneous posts. I don't feel like arguing with fans of the Comets, any more than fellow Canuck-backers. Simply want to see both teams play hard, clean, accountable hockey, & fanbases that encourage both levels of the game. If I don't trust the bizzz-side of pro sport, that's my own opinion(& a separate matter). I spend Very little time on these matters anyhow(only watch hockey, for any broadcast sport). Won't give a dime, nor second of precious time to things I think are rigged.
  20. Further to your post(& some other posters, recently on this thread) I've been quite disappointed with opinions I've seen here(& especially HFBoards) from the negativity & disrespect for the organization. Persistent insults to our front staff like JB & RJ(good people too!) I'm assuming most of the commenters are local(Utica area), as the main contributors who're watching every game. Said this wayyy back (50 pages?) in this thread. Last 5 yrs we've had ONE PO series in Vancouver; whereas I think the Comets have made PO's a few times. Yet most CDC'ers are optimistic & excited for our young cast. I've basically stopped looking at HFthreads(had scanned for info a number of yrs; never posted, just too toxic). For folks who wanna whine & gripe, that's probably the best echo chamber to hang out.
  21. Seems the best for a place to hear whiners blaming the parent org ..hava' nice day :^)
  22. Kylington..Gee that kid has a nice set of wheels.

Was he from the Baer trade(for our 2nd), or was that Andersson? forget

    1. Jaku

      Jaku

      That was Andersson.

  23. Any/every/some/one is free to relax, of course. Regarding our top prospects, I'd prefer NO concussions before they make the show. Heck I'd rather none of our prospects are subjected to that garbage. I'd like to see both teams(parent/farm) play hard, honest hockey. If there's cheap shot garbage going on, always protect your top youth(as an org). Call up more ECHL big blokes if injuries abound. Tough luck for them fans..but if that's how this league rolls...
