  1. Just read on Zerohedge(saw Utube vid) that Hawaiian Congresswoman called out Trump/Pence, for their hypocisy in Syria. Protecting the Al Quaeda types(20~40,000) as their day of reckoning closes in, in the Northern city of Idlib. Takes serious balls for this lady to speak so strongly vs the interests of the deep state. If even 10% of the world's elected officials had these kinda guts, we'd all be livin in freeken'ShangriLa.
  2. Ben Hutton & Aqua go to Kit's Beach...

Throw down a blanket, & picnic basket fulla' sammy's.

"Hey Ben, let's kick back & talk some hockey..y'know, the room, more rooks, & the whole darn coachin' staff, eh?..."

This might be the equivalent of that Bizarro Ottawa-production. Can't believe more folks aren't doubled over laughing at this one.

On HFBoards(Ottawa page) there's 20 + pages of aghast-fandom. Some pretty funny comments, gotta' say.

Holy-smokes, is Melnyk outa' touch with reality!

I thought the 12 Tweets of Linden was bad, but Melnyks video makes me feel better.

@Jimmy McGill That almost has an Xmas-ring to it, eh? I hope this means the EK deal gets done. Them poor Sens-backers need another topic.

Did you watch this debacle(full 5 mins!)?..would love to hear your analysis

  3. TYPHOON-Tuesday!!!

Just blew thru Osaka. Destroyed the panels on our 2nd floor patio. Eegads..never seen wind like that. Neighbours roof flew away. More debris flying about(parking lot outside) than rumours, in a girls' jr high hallway.

Saw a lil' bird frantically flapping yet traveling backwards..Mother Nature on 'roids...

  4. Sure hope the Syrian war doesn't flare up this wknd..lots of Russian(RT) reports that the west is preparing a false flag chemical-farce, to use as pretext. Iran, Saudis, Israel, Syria, Russia, USSA..there's so many players, & assorted agendas/tripwires Seemorerocks.com has lots of updates. PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Could be our version of Zucc. A rare, invasive lil' species(unbeknownst for origin) that causes stress & high heart rate, when afflicted. He's absolute AM..& the early bird gets the worm!
  6. Ditch the skate, & tilt the logo. It'll look like pelting rain. Gimmee some truth.
  7. BE PREPARED!!!

Lots of quakes going on folks.

Dutchsinse(youtube quake guy) claims it emanates from a DEeeep 8.2 in west Pacific.

Keep hard hats on, & a plan/bag ready to roll.

  8. Glad you've highlighted Dutchsinse's youtube site. This bloke's brilliant(very informative)..perhaps controversial in methodology(?..hard to say); but appears to me, quite the pioneer in the science of earthquake forecasting. Today he has a feature on the Venezuela 7.3 quake. LOTS of Pacific Rim activity recently folks..50+ quakes of 4.5, + over a wk or so. Best to keep a bug-out bag(tasty vittles, H2O) stored in a handy place.
  9. Heartily agree, PB. Also noticed(just now) that @Warhippy referenced this crime in the Saudi thread. Shout out to that Okanagan lad. I've grown increasingly disillusioned with the 'modern world' we've set up. To make it even more galling, once respected mass media sources(like Gerald Celente says of NYT.."The toilet-paper, of record!") only serve as a veil to deceive & discombobulate us unwashed masses. I've posted a lot of anti-western diatribes, over the yrs. I've also had many shiny(rather new) computers go kaput. Should it all disappear today..I'd just read books or go hiking.. I can take it or leave it. But it wouldn't surprise me if we some day discover the degree to which dissenting voices are marginalized/minimized amap. Spidey senses activate increasingly Orwellian-warnings. So lastly, I wonder if our net-hobbies reduce us to mere ostriches..heads stuck in dirty data of passionate pastimes? There are a lot of agendas at play, but soon I suspect the crap hits the fan. In Japan, the oppressive summer heat is almost past, & my house-sentence almost served. Think I'll revisit my plans for a lengthy break. Take it easy, man.
  10. Has anyone(on CDC) mentioned the bus full of school kids, bombed & killed in Yemen last wk?(about 50 p, ferGawdsakes!) ****in Saudis. With US weapons, of course. Good thing Trump took part in that 'sword dance' thingy, to keep the relationship strong. Hockey's important..but is the avg NA'n sports fan always oblivious to western hypocrisy? Wearin' me down, as I hit middle age...
  11. A- the kids are very good ..8 players/48 mill AAV (avg 6 mill per young stud) B- The kids are Brilliant! ..7 players/49 mill AAV (avg'd to 7 mill a dude) To me, the crystal ball winds up with these two scenarios. Either way, we gotta' pay, if these kids can play!
  12. Everyone blames the Willie for something, it seems...
  13. The Beatles in Hamburg yrs...

That's probably where the Canucks are, right about now. Just before the plane REALLY takes off.

Maybe they should all grow mop-tops, act corny, & change arena title to The Cavern Club!

@johngould21 Yeah, they played(on & off, about 1960~63? stints in Hamburg, Germany), then returned a lot more polished, to entertain their hometown..mostly at the Cavern, I believe.

I guess George was too young for the first couple trips.

Sutcliffe(John's buddy) died there..brain hemorrhage. Was it after they were jumped by thugs?(read that somewhere)

& Pete Best would go on to the WORST luck of any white man in this world's history. Man, ya gotta feel for that guy!

      @NewbieCanuckFan

You gotta know Ghosts is more of the suave Bryan Ferry type, who likes the old classics.

Who's our Mal Evans(tough hombre, roadie)?..we should all appreciate for spotting 'The Ivey's', who they'd go on to sign to Apple, & re-name, Badfinger(awesome band!)

hey @NewbieCanuckFan you dont like my girl yoko …..thats it I quit.   edit ...she wont cause any  problems ...I promise.  can I come back.

  14. Having a bunch of buds(similarly aged) that mesh well, prob plays a bigger role than we all realize. They all seem like pretty good blokes. Hopefully some take 10~20% cuts(negotiating deals) to keep the core intact.
  15. I realize we're just throwing around silly speculation-numbers, but you're up to about 75 mill/15 guys. Hopefully our books are clean of all hassles(eg: Luongo thing)
  16. Reminds me of the scores I gave ex-gf's(outa 10)! Ya start low & monkey-branch high as possible :^)
  17. We can probably get Tram signed a couple yrs cheaply, since he's laying low in the gulag. By then we might be at war with the Russkies(who knows?!), due to dodgy dossiers by Hillarity & the gang. The best persuasion for NT is if our team is rolling with talented youth.
  18. Four yrs on, & all kids storm outa' the gate... Petterson - 8 Brock - 7.5(pipe dream?) Hughes - 7 Demko - 6 Bo - 5.5(Thanks Bo!) OJ - 5 Jake - 4.5 Gaudette - 4.5(say other C's limit his offense..does he have the humble character to accept scenario? Probably) 8 young, key guys coming into prime yrs Total - 48,000,000 AAV Hopefully the cap keeps climbing higher. Since JB has emphasized good character with these kids, would say it's quite possible they'll find the ways to make the numbers work.
  19. For a lil' summer discussion, thought I'd get this thread rolling. As per Capfriendly, we're in a nice cap-scenario(Finally!)..currently sitting about 23rd overall. TO & Winn will pass us soon, with big names they have to sign. So we'll likely sit about 25th(total cap expense, for 2018~19), as the season kicks off. About 10,000,000 $ of open space. Let's all agree that our kids mostly impress, over the coming seasons(to make thread less complicated).Namely: - QH is on par with Dumba, Pietrangelo, Werenski types for success(perhaps a beauty hybrid?) - Brock becomes perrenial 40/80 guy - Jake becomes a 50/60 pt pwf - Olli becomes what a young Edler appeared to once be(ascending, but 5 mill level, let's say) - Petterson hits Brock-level, in terms of skill/numbers - Demko is certifiable, early-Schneids level, first few yrs. Legitimate starter - Gaudette becomes something between Kesler & Kadri(style & pts) All this raises a coupla' questions. At what point will a surging cast of excellent youth pose a cap-crunch issue? A- What season will this problem kick in? b- Anybody have contract $/term strategies that may best avert/delay the inevitable? c - Will we eventually have to entertain trades, to keep recycling in high-level ELC's? d- Lastly, what's the best example of a team that's simultaneously/affordably maintained depth & success? What lessons apply?
  20. Firstly, Lastname's a funny surname. What's Lastname's first name, or nickname? If some no-name with one game, can go first-line, with no face-time, or stat-line?.. Well heck..do we all really need this?
  21. Book ends of excellence! I always look at a 1st rounder, within the context of it's season. For example, if you're lousy(like Flamers), yet still have no bloody pick.. THAT must be a freeken'nightmare! In our case, we got this amazing young talent, yet one could argue Van had a surprisingly promising yr. If we didn't get hit by a slew of injuries, would say they could've been in the WC fight 'til late March, perhaps(?) We had a super start, & a brilliant finish(aforementioned book ends). Going forward, the team has to whittle down this injury-thing(that usually surfaces mid-season). Speed, size, youth, & controlling play will hopefully help in that regard.
  22. Can't remember clearly..didn't Bowman have Housley often playing as a fwd(hybrid type?). Thought this skewed his numbers?
  23. 70's ..BEST Decade for flicks.

    Anyone disagree?

      "1960's Bond Films"

George Lazanby's one stint as Bond has grew on me a little over the years.  A shame he couldn't really act (to be fair it was his first movie role and this was as the lead obviously).  Rest of the movie was solid.  And who can't love Emma Peel as a Bond girl?

"Once Upon a Time in the West. "

I heard Leone at first planned to have Bronson have that initial shootout against THESE shooters...this scene:

Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and of course Wallach  (heh, the three leads of "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly)!

Doesn't hurt that Claudia Cardinale is stunning in this movie. But Fonda plays an incredible bad guy.

"But Fonda plays an incredible bad guy."

Yeah, a huge surprise given that he was pretty ALWAYS the 'good guy'.  It would be like John Wayne playing a heavy in a Western.
