  1. Duty of every Cdn team:

Send excess depth/talent to the Sens. BLOCK the Avs from getting another top pick. Tired of Cdn franchises funneling top talent down south(especially thru bad trades/frittered picks).

Ottawa's dug it's own grave tbh, if Colorado gets a top three pick I'm gonna laugh. Ottawa's such a bloody mess.

  2. Just HAD to bump this folks..started at 80% last Oct..nice to finally hit 100% ! ..(of course, we gotta give 120%, eh?:^) I don't care how people choose to define this half-decade. In my mind they kept up 'appearances'(at the very least, the image of trying), yet amassed the best pool of youth in franchise history(that seems virtually unanimous, amongst fans who recall/or have studied the team's 5 decades). So with this, my updates are done here! From about 2020~2027ish, this team should be quite the force! I can get back to some other stuff. Have a good summer, one & all!!!
  3. Back in Oct, I felt this last modest yr would suffice. Figured we'd be ready to start climbing again, after the 5 yr stealth-rebuild. But then a coupla' things happened... - we were awarded the 2019 draft - landed this beauty Hughes kid..who has a bro that's pretty decent at this game We COULD do better in 2018/19(fringe team), if we wanted to chase UFA's..but it seems pretty clear, it's wiser to lay in the weeds, just one last yr. Perhaps sell off a few key pieces to ensure a high draft opportunity? JB can wait for the right deal(poised to strike) if a counterpart gets cap-crunched, or beset by injuries. So 5 yrs of stealth-renovation, & 1 yr of blatant-mediocrity. Not bad at all. Nice job in Dallas, JB & Co!
  4. Status Update: Officially F*cking Frazzled! :^0

Just had another aftershock(3rd in 24 hrs)

Yesterday's 6.1mag killed 4 in Osaka. Man, it was strong, rapid, intense shaking!

Love Japan, but THIS is the catch...

I totally forgot about that quake. We normally get the 3s and 4s.

I've yet to experience nature's violence beyond 40 knot winds on a fishing boat in Haida Gwai. If I'm lucky it'll stay that way.

@Green Building 40knots  not to bad, hove to , wouldn't want it on the side.

Yes folks - I'm determinedly going for a morning jog at the nearby park..would the natives laugh if I wore my cycling helmet?!

  5. NYI..2 picks #11 & #12 OA

Anyone think they might offer them both, to move up?

Who would maybe accept this offer?

    1. RetroCanuck

      RetroCanuck

I think we should if its offered.

Then trade Tanev for Edmontons 1st

and have 10,11,12 and trade for Dahlin.

      Boom

  6. #7 OA is perfectly ACCEPTable, after an injury-ravaged, yet pretty entertaining season! :^)
  7. #7 OA is a fine slot to stealthily nab one of the top guys. Of the D... Bouchard Boqvist Dobson Hughes I wonder if two of these guys will still be available when it's our number? IF Tkachuk & Wahlstrom are selected top-6, we should have a choice of three of these dudes. Should be interesting.
  8. Too darn kind, SP(must work in sales! :^)..got a coupla' things I want to work on. Wise ol' Asian bloke told me(many moons back) of the poor hapless fool who drills 30 holes, looking for the well of sustenance. I've only dug 27 or 28, so far! With an addictive personality, I go 100 or 0%..& the missus will soon read the riot act, if I don't get my priorities straight! Another reason to take five. Take care, my friend.
  9. Of course, Alf-man! Got a few things I need some time for. Will(hopefully) be back in the groove, spring 2019...
  10. Recently been viewing the increasing trend of sports-fanaticism in a little more sobering fashion. Without getting too long-winded, I think it (over?)compensates for other things folks might have missing from their lives. At backdrop, is a widening gap between the haves & nots. If you can't live the life one aspires to, turn to religion, culture or sport, (perhaps living vicariously)? Thus, stakes get raised in that particular realm, leading mostly to what we currently observe. All exacerbated by a 24/7(all-seeing) instantaneous form of communication, to keep everyone wound up. It's one reason I've decided to take a year's break.
  11. Last wknd on CDC for a bit...

Got some things to do. Hope to see you folks in 2019!

      Relax said the night man,

      We are programmed to receive,

You can check out anytime you like.

      But you can never leave......

  12. Yeah..acceptance. Gonna get this over with early, & accept the #9 OA 1st R pick. This league is a rigged deck, so it won't surprise me a bit. They tried to shag us over last yr, but we wound up with (probably) the best kid. I trust JB..pickin' top-10, he surely should grab a gem. The team had some real nice stretches this season, & possibly was a 90+ pt rising force, if it weren't for the usual injuries. I think the hierarchy is learning to surround our youth with the requisite size/grit, & we'll start rolling with a younger, grittier, speedier version. It's a nice bonus that we should be landing another top prospect(or more) in June. The injuries let us stealthily fall back for one last time.
  13. As for the Leafs..target their 2019 1st, instead.(included in pkg) They might crash out next yr. Hosting the draft with a high pick from them would be a sweet dessert.
  14. Why bother yakkin' bout the Fleas? Still think Matthews resembles Elmer Fudd...
  15. AVOID JVR! Invisible in this big game. Forget about that UFA.

Wonder if the Leafers regret the games they played with us(telephone at TDL, 2013?). Luongo would've been better than Anderson. Wouldn't have cost them a 1st, either.

We're gonna start kickin' the Leafs butt again..seems they only have Marner for big games.

leafs choked and mathews did nothing in the series

    3. Ghostsof1915

      Ghostsof1915

A 1st for Luongo would have given them one area that would be stable until they developed another goaltender. But thanks to Gillis he was almost untradeable with the contract he had.

    4. 6string

      6string

DeBrusk was the best rookie in the series. McAvoy was consistent and Matthews played with some flashes.

  16. ^Poor ol' egomaniac Kes. Serves as a cautionary tale for the budding youth.
  17. Mike Sullivan...

Already mighty sick of this guy's whining, griping mug, as he rants at reffs. Looks like the ultimate petty, childish a*se.

Don't take that foot off the pedal. He wants to win.

  18. Thanks Sid..LOVE hearing about this kid's speed. I visualize a future Canucks team with 5 or 6 guys that can flat-out, fly. Speed's so dangerous when it's sprinkled throughout a lineup.
  19. 'Ning vs Broon-goons should be a good series.

Will reffs throw whistles away?..stay tuned.

btw..Maple Fleas are done. Bet they lose 5-2 today, the over-hyped bums.
