Don't like the Laffs..after all their petty, media-antics. The Burke days they were incorrigible *$$h*le$! Of course they've done well this yr, but did opponents play them 'half-fast' in the early months? This 50-50, rev sharing, casino league had a problem(COVID yrs) for both sides, in their deal. Do you REALLLLY think players want heavy duty escrow losses? If the Laffs are up high, all of Hogtown(& 40-50% of Canada?) switch to BUY! Prob Ontario alone produces 20-30% of league rev. Honestly this latest CBA is prob the best(of countless sh*t options) a Cdn fan could hope for - not pretending there's obviously a better alternative. Yet somehow the whole biz op feels collusive & incestuous. With GB's fingerprints, it ain't surprising. Have often referenced that Fall, 2016 shellacking: Where they ran Daniel, & Millsy had to jump in for a smallish rook-D. They were singing songs on their bench. Their franchise WAS starting to rise, & our trajectory was the reverse. Well, how many series PO-wins does each team have since then? Whose key players are signed to more reasonable/justifiable contracts? I'll always maintain the media-contempt for JB SHOULD have been far greater for lil' Kyle. How many mulligans does the "boy-wonder" deserve?

Ha, good one Alf. Think I was about 5 yrs old at Surrey, King G Hwy McD's. Some lil' mischievous bugger points at a door, "Hey go in! ALL the McD's characters are in there!" Somehow I wound up a coupla' steps in, with all the cooking staff looking at me like I was a lil' terrorist! :^) (belated apologies to the kitchen staff at Whalley McD's in summer, 1973)

So, JD back to centering a line?(as per BB's presser)..Interesting, guess flanked by Tanner & CG. Then you got the younger 'grit' line. I like that Bruce adjusts his lines according to what we're facing Miller - Bo - Boeser Hoglander - EP - Podz Pearson - JD - Garland Motte - Lammikko - Chiasson edit: Also guess they wanna keep that top line away from the speed/skill of Matthews, Marner & Nylander?

Pearson, Horvat, Boeser, Myers, The frustrating 4

If you contrast Garland's dynamic hustle, makes several of our fwds look rather pedestrian -
It seems unlikely today, as they currently sit NINETEEN(!) pts behind the Caps, but I'm predicting the Isles go on a run to leap over the PO-bar. Have seen the Caps play a few recently(snippets, at least), & they look pretty unimpressive. Also they've played far more home than away sched, with NYI in the opposite ratio. Their goaltending is going sideways, & badly. Also worth noting the Isles have 8 games in hand, & these 2 teams face each other a few more times. Would rather the NYI squeeze the Bruins out, but expect it'll be WASH.

Garland for top line at only 5 mill Pods, Hogz can fight it out for line 2 perhaps(ELC dudes) Lockwood, Bailey, Highmore(& others) can battle for the bottom 2 lines - on the cheap. Now we can dedicate some of the RW, committed-cap expense towards the blueline. All these names^ can SKATE! In a couple yrs some of these bargains will demand bridge deals/raises..best look ahead.

Lots of aspects of this game were really enjoyable. -Realized tonite we GOTTA deal away Boeser. We need more speed - he needs to be moved to create cap space, & he IS replaceable. - EP40 looked like his ol', rookie-form beaut - Demko makes me excited for the future - Remember we're missing TWO, solid vet D-men & 1 young superstar D Ever since Bruce came onto the scene, I've been really proud of this group. & whenever they seem to be turning a corner..screwed again by the COVID-fiasco! EDIT: & I really hope there aren't oodles of Myers-gaffe comments. This yr, the guy has been playing his heart out!

It's not the Atkin's, Keto, or Mediterranean diet..noo, it's the Yo yo Diet. Thrust upwards, then plummet precipitously. Is this the BEST thing die hard Cdn puck fans can hope for in Buttman's Amero-centric, #riggeddeckleague? Had asked these very questions in my Oct 21st prediction thread on the Habs. Let's be honest, the last 12 mos have turned about as well as they could realistically hope. They weren't good last yr, but the COVID-divisions, boring trap hockey & a hot 'tender brought them as far as they could conceivably travel. Now they look to have nailed down a top-3 selection. This is a nationally-viewed, prime time, walk-the-dog yo yo maneouvre under the glare of the spotlight. US franchises don't NEED to connive & contrive to such degrees. Why, they're awarded Stammer, Hedman 1st OA-types, in between lengthy Cup runs in disinterested, f***ing tropical climates(filled with tax & LTIR opportunities!) I'm so tired of this two rule book, rigged casino called the NHL.

Fairly uneventful deal, predicated upon us wanting to dump cap(coming seasons) & Caps needing a decent vet 'tender Van: Pearson, Poolman(or Ham, even better!), & Halak Wash: Hagelin, Schultz, Vanecek/Copley(don't care, they can send either gt) If Hamonic, cap's a wash. If Poolman we accept 600k more cap. The great thing is their contracts end this summer. Only Hagelin has 1 yr left. Looking at the Caps roster, they'd prob be able to utilize our vets(with more term), better than we could. Also wouldn't surprise me if they LTIR Oshie's contract, as key US markets seem to get this option whenever it's convenient.
