  1. At first was reluctant(on JR), but this sounds like it's coming together quite nicely. Smyl is an absolutely dependable, career-Canuck! Congratz to the Man.
  2. These past couple wks have proven the exact opposite. It's impressive to me that they seem to keep rolling(or at the very least, competing hard) with a constantly revolving door of depth D-men, filling various roles.
  3. That vid ^ nicely summarizes my prob w/Green: Coached afraid to lose. Bruce coaches excited/passionate to win. Precisely the personality for our younger, upbeat, attacking team.
  4. So if Woo should get a look(when healthy), would make it a baker's dozen. JB deserves credit for preparing major depth at such a crucial position. He also signed Keeper, who hit some lousy luck.
  5. IF they threw in Marino AND a 1st..then maybe. Van: Boeser & Poolman Pitt: *ucker, Marino & a 1st Not even sure about this..maybe if they retain a mill?
  6. Canucks vs Habs? Howz'bout dat? Benning & Disco suit Bergevin both had lengthy terms at the helm(& comparable in Cdn markets). We're lucky that JB left the franchise a helluva' lot more young, quality pieces.
  7. With competent coaching, will always wonder how far we could've gone in the EDM bubble? In retrospect, don't think it's a pipe-dream to suggest we could've faced TBay in the finals. After their CBJ lesson, would say it's impossible any young upstarts could have toppled their loaded roster though. Drafting will be JB's historical-legacy. The coaches, vet FA-signings & ludicrous pressers his hysterical-lunacy. Ultimately, an almost 8 yr run is pretty decent at that position. He suuure left a better scenario for the new hire than MG did!
  8. Last coupla' games is showing we have some defensive-depth. The fwd-depth hasn't really been tested, thus far. JB's team-build, plus Boudreau's coaching might've been the ticket.
  9. Tommy, if this AIN'T the best tasting frozen-stash pizza you've ever had, I'll post for 2 wks in ITALIAN! Larscheid: Yer on!
  10. Don't know how many times I tried to flush TP(about a yr back) with various proposals. Guess I learned JB wasn't eagerly latching on to my 'tips'! So he offers the BFG in Siberia peanuts, & gives TP what he shoulda' offered NT. At that point I started counting down mgmt's remaining days/wks.
  11. Nice overview here, Buzz. Had to miss the first 2 p's today..but sure enjoyed the 3rd. There's room for us to acquire a mighty 4th line C. Then add Lockwood, & the 4th line speed with Motte would be tantalizing.
  12. Let's not build up these Toilet-canes tooo much. Let Dougie waltz out the door, & chased after goofy Kotka. Their childish antics after home W's must eat at their very souls..poor lil' urchins.
  13. Was just mindless-ramblin' in the early morn :^) but I think this kid'll be fine. If he's motivated to learn the lingo & NA'n game, he will. With all the mayhem occurring in today's world, prob best if the org keeps him local. Bet we'll see a lot of growth/progress from him spring & next season.
  14. Wonder if Podz could become a Miller-type? Hybrid W & C
  15. He just picked up an apple..let's not force this into a William Tell scenario.
  16. Seems they're up a few after 1 p edit: Make it 4-diddley..Rempal, Arsenault, DiGiup & Bailey Klimovich with a helper on #4
  17. Nice EP..have also been pushing the Edmundson ticket for a while now. That guy would be a sweeet add. Unfortunately, bet there are 10-15 GM's who feel the same. Habs could profit heavily.
  18. Man, that Connor is a helluva' player. In truth, figure we were all hoping that's what Boeser would become. When a star has wheels like KC, it's something to behold.
  19. We need to do away with contracts like 3+ mill for TP..flush these lame-o's outa' the system, & stop doing it! If a decent asset popped up on waivers, Doubtful we even have cap to pounce...
  20. Took quite a lot of heat for questioning the guy, 14 mos back. Must've been 15-20 attacking posts on my notion, in that thread I started(criticizing the coaching vs Lost Vegans). Someone here made a good point lately(a wk back?). They posted that Jimbo kiboshed all staff that appeared smarter/sharper than he. Guess that left a bare-bones staff!
  21. I have called it since the Edmunchuk bubble..the Gang-Green was spreading rapidly & almost proved fatal. That F***ing guy held this club back, more than we will ever realize.
  22. Wish I could share in the enthusiasm for this hiring, which seems fairly widespread on these boards. Haven't delved too deeply into Rutherford's managerial-history, but much of what I recall not too fond of. Feel like this guy is part of the OBC in a pretty corrupt,(rigged?) entity, the NHL. But posted yest, it's the Aqua's coin/team, & sure hope they are 100% trusting(& with good reason) in this guy. Of course I'd rather see the Canucks win, than see my doubts justified. Positively, hope this here naysayer's post is proven absoLUTEly wayyy off base!
  23. Whatever the details..matters not. In Oct I simply called a Habs, bottom-10 finish. Tell me I was WRONG :^) As for Van, on Oct 13th I put my season prediction in a separate thread. There's plenty of detail in it(on the 11th page of Canucks Talk currently, I believe?)
  24. Well, there ya go. A few posters got their back up on page 1, but this prediction holds plenty of water. 2nd last in league, with 27 gp already?! Hmm...
