  1. He played something like 4 minutes down the stretch last year and got in one game. He should have go a chance to be in every game but instead Green played every other random perimeter player he could instead all because Gadj made one give away. That was all just Green saving Green's job for another year.
  2. You are being too kind. AMC Gremlin is the car that first came to mind for me.
  3. Year after year the Canucks struggle with depth down the stretch when injuries hit and need to insert a bunch f generic no name skaters to fill the holes. Losing assets off waivers will not help at all with this and this will be the softest Canuck team ever.
  4. Canucks 4-3 Pearsonwith the GWGChaisson with the Canucks first goal
  5. Trade the rights to Tryamkin (sp?) If the Canucks still HD them and put an end to that long running soap opera forever.
  6. That looks better, thanks..... Hopefully Petan is just a placeholder until Lammikko arrives because Petan is not an NHL player
  7. Bennings drafting as a whole has been second to none of any other time in Canucks history. The fact that this team has the luxery for players to leave is in its self unprecedented, not that I like seeing Gadj go but there are still at least 5 other NHL ready prospects in Abbotsford that were drafted and many others waiting in the wings. The core of this team is built around the draft as well of which Brian Burke may be the only other Canuck GM to come close to doing but not to the same success that Benning has had. I do agree with your other assessments, especially coach Green. I question whether he plays favorites with some players based on past loyalties which can become a polarizing factor in the locker room. He seems a bit too prone to keep going back to the same well timne over time and reusing the same tactics that are ineffective which can be very frustrating as a fan.
  8. Ya, I think Lammikko could be a more important player than what he is getting credit for. Dal Colle has no value.
  9. I am not at all upset wil OJ but I am still PO'ed about losing Gadjo because I think he was a great young man with an awsome attitude and did everything that was asked of him. He lost weight in the offseason, got faster, showed up in preseason, had a great year in the AHL last year..... Green just didn't give him a chance. In the meaningless games down the stretch last year Gadjo should have played in all of them but Green was trying to save face. Same as this preseason, the kid did what he was told and didn't get a fair shake but when he was cut he still acted with class. This is a guy I will miss.
  10. I think GMJB's true genius comes through in the later rounds because he finds some gems. In his own words a successful draft is one in which you come out of it with at least two NHL players and this team has averaged more than that in Benning's tenurefor the first time in Canuck history. GMJB tends to like to swing for the fences a bit with his first rounders and he has hit some home runs with Petey, Hughes, Boeser and likely Podz and struck out with OJ and Virtanen. Currently we are talking about the departure of OJ and Gadjo (albeit I am po'ed still about Gadjo) but there is still a farm team full of excellent "drafted" almost NHL ready prospects such as Lockwood, Woo, Klimovich, Plasek and Dipietro and a bunch of other drafted guys showing well in other leagues. Go back any point in time and we may only have one or two guys we were keeping an eye on to make the team rather than having the luxery to choose.

    Instant coach?

I've been coaching this team from the sidelines since the days of Tiger Williams but I prefer being a sideline General Manager but I would take the coaching reigns if I had to. Win 'da turd, finish your checks and you miss 100% of the shots you don't take are just a few of the great advice pieces that I have prepared on my resume for this team
  12. OEL has been great, he is very poised in his play, Forward depth is very good As far as possession goes, perimeter play doesn't cut it for me. Someone needs to take the puck to the net and I have been seeing Podz start doing that a bit more in his last two games but other than that there seems to be a lot of reliance on trying to snipe from the slot area instead of getting the dirty goals from two feet out so I think this stat can be a bit misleading when it comes to how well the team is actually attacking.
  13. Garland is a lock to make the team so he isn't getting the premium icetime in preseason so it may be why it appears he hasn't shown as much but he looks incredible and is silky smooth. Petan has been getting premium minutes to try out and has a few points but his play away from the puck is not very good.
  14. He's had some serious freak injury problems, the kind that would limit anyone's career. As a project and given a full year in the AHL I would wait to reserve such harsh judgement.
