  1. By that time the twins had been in the league for about 9 years and were a well established name. It was a sure thing with them. If Petey and Hughes are wanting the same kind of contract after less than 3 seasons it is a lot harder to justify because a lot of questions are still left unanswered.
  2. I miss the olden days when Shoppers Drug Mart did these. There is not a Pharmasave near me.
  3. In full speed it looked like Fogerty ducked the hit but I think the problem was that the play had moved on and McIlrath didn't let up or even bother to change direction or change his gaze. He was locked in on one thing and was head hunting.
  4. Can't the Canucks go through the waiver and subsequent unconditional waiver process by sending him to Abbotsford and if he clears and fails to report then terminate his contract? Hate to lose him for nothing but if Hamonic is not going to show up and play may as well as clear the books and maybe there will be a player on waivers at least that the Canucks can grab as a 7th d-man.
  5. It is doable for sure. I think that with OEL and the emergence of the Bone of Wrath the Canucks can explore options on the back end to become more defensively sound and this looks like an option. Only problem is when Jersey realizes that they will have to pay half of their cap to the three Hughes boys in about 3-4 years to keep them all together leaving 45 million to split between their other 18 team mates.
  6. He looked a lot better as a rookie but for the most part the coaching staff were sheltering him alot more as well and pairing him on favorable matchups. In the bubble they didn't have that luxery or depth on defense so we saw what his flaws are in exposed play.
  7. So far he has not shown a whole lot better than Tyson Barrie who is a pp specialist that gets exposed on a regular 5 on 5 shift. Jack Hughes would likely agree with you though.
  8. That is a very fair way of categorizing the situation and probably how the Canucks are looking at things as well. If Hughes wants the numbers to line up then the Canucks also want Hughes' numbers to line up and to date they have not. I would prefer to bridge Hughes. Petey with a Calder under his belt and playing first line centre despite the injuries has shown a lot more imo. I think the nature of the injuries are more in the fluke variety a not really attributable to style of play so I think they are not the norm for him. Petey leaves me with few questions at this point of his career as I think he is the real deal for the 8-9 long term range you mention.
  9. I think it is just a late harvest on the prairies this year and Travis stayed back to held get the crops off the field. In fact, Sutter may be doing the same. This makes about as much sense as the other rampant speculation on here.....
  10. Ya, this is pretty bizarre. Sounds very entitled.
  11. How do you pronounce Chytl? My guess is it is an sh sound at the start which makes sense because I Chytled a bit when I read this trade. No way I trade Horvat for an untested prosepct who has played zero NHL games.
  12. I would try Petey out for the BC Lions as an international player, he could have probably made a better punt than the Lions punter did the other night that pretty much cost the game.

Pretty much, right now it is just the hacks at Canucks Army trying to make this an ongoing saga at training camp because they are too unoriginal to see any other story lines to write about.
  14. I hear people say that yet the icu's are full of unvaccinated people. Icu's don't fill like that during normal cold or flu season... maybe there is something to this covid stuff... I guess your logic is to get herd immunity by taking cattle meds.
  15. At my workplace everyone is vaccinated except one person that I know of. That person recently got covid and has been off work 3 weeks and counting. Praying for a good recovery. The potential for long lasting vaccine adverse side effects is almost non existent it is something like 0.002%. On the other hand long lasting adverse side effects from covid are disputed but could be 5-25%
  16. There is nothing gene altering about these vaccines whatsoever. This is a lie being believed by the social media masses. In layman's terms, messenger RNA is like an instruction letter to the DNA. It tells the body's DNA how to defeat the virus should it encounter it. There is nothing being altered at all. The mRNA self destructs once it has done its job and the body has created antibody's to fight the virus. However on the other hand, getting a virus itself could potentially be gene altering as they can leave some of their genetic sequence in human DNA. It is infrequent but this can lead to future onset of other diseases.....
  17. That's some crazy hockey hair he's got going for him. If anything he will look good in warm ups without a helmet on.
  18. I think he will win over quite a few of us, he seems to have an excellent demeanor and gives pretty straight answers.
  19. This is one player I would like to see added, he is hard to play against and uses his size well to win puck battles along the boards and can chip in and provide a decent amount of depth offense as well.
  20. Big money for a one year NHL'er. The Sedins always took a home town discount to stay together and allow the Canucks to stay competitive, we were spoiled with them. Maybe some of that can rub off on Petey a bit though but with the same agent for Petey and Hughes there is a bit of leverage against the 'nucks.
  21. I would hope that is not the issue, I think they can probably come to agreement on the year ahead but problem could be in the subsequent years after.
  22. They better stay out of Stanley Park when they come to Vancouver
  23. Started a great career in northern BC. Hate to see him go but in essence he left a long time ago anyway when he left the Canucks.
