  1. 87. Gretzky, Lemieux.... say no more. That was an exciting time.
  2. Gino of course. I was there going nuts when he scored his penalty shot. Some players were tough, Gino was scary tough. I always thought Brashear picked his spots a bit too much but Gino never backed down. Honorable mention to Probert. I would also vote for him if I could because he had the rare talent of being a guy that could beat everyone up and play a regular shift. Where is Tim Hunter?
  3. Richards, the Rochet was a superstar and the pocket rocket was no slouch and both were as tough as they come. Tenpted to take the Sutters because with them you get an entire line.
  4. He is likely to be an injury call up but there is no rush as he is still developing. He has only one pro season under his belt so this seems to be pretty normal progression for a second round defender.
  5. Brian Burke's statement about no longer having the inmates running the asylum was more or less directed at Messier and Keenan's realationship so take that for what its worth I guess... Regardless, since Podz is Russian and Russians are more commonly referred to as Bears than Moose maybe he doesn't need to be compared to Mr infamous himself.
  6. I thought the same, Pavel's last NHL game was 2003, the same year Danila was born. Maybe Belarus has a ime delay of several years on their television feeds.
  7. Yes, you remember correctly. He really had little honor in how he went about his business. Very different from Ohlund who was a tough player but a played the game with honor.
  8. Almost ditto for me. I could go with all three I chose Plante but could just as easily taken Parent or Sawchuk.
  9. The fact I know that musical reference from 1991 means iwould be decades beyond living with my patents so it was a reference to a song is all.
  10. Apples and oranges when you are comparing criminal activity to personal preference over leadership styles. This is a complete categorical difference that anyone should be logically able to.understand.
  11. What goes on in the dressing room stays in the dressing room imo. I have no respect for Zadorov for this. MacKinnon wants to win and wants dedication from team mates. Even Trevor Linden has been called too serious as captain of the Canucks so I take this stuff with a grain of salt. Context is everything.
  12. It is his Jedi uniform and he is using mind tricks on other unsusoecting GM's.
  13. This is what won the cup for Colorado a few years later without a doubt.
  14. I would welcome him back to BC where he played junior. At this point of his career I doubt he is playing on back to back nights but is a a fitness freak and would still help this team. If the price is right I welcome the big guy aboard to help steer this team to its first Stanley Cup.
  15. Worst is probably Edmonton for what they didn't do. They have horrendous goaltending which they ignored completely, they could have drafted a stud or signed an better goalie but put the money to Hyman and Barrue instead. Canucks did well chipping away at the edges and not committing big money to any one player. I am.not at all concerned with Poolman and his 2.5 per year hit and I think he will be a solid player. Any team that paid big money and term for a UFA will likely.lose at some point.
  16. I feel bad for Poolman already. Seems he has been set up to meet some lofty expectations or forever be shunned to Aaron Romeland if he falls short of that. He is a Canuck now so I support him and will cheer for him and hope for the best. I don't care how much he signed for, just let him play.
  17. I was wondering if he was the same guy. I seem to recall watching him play in the prospects tourney a number of years back.
  18. I quite like this signing. Centre depth is always a good thing and Petan is a very talented player.
  19. Montreal - losers and any other descriptor you want. Edmonton - losers, this team has had bad goaltending since Cujo left town and they blew a chance to draft the best prospect but passed. Columbus - winners, liked their first round selections. Minny - winners, see above.
