  1. Von Barnekow Lofberg I like the name so Buffalo gets a all name prospect
  2. Why won't other teams just take our old bad overpaid players and give us their good cheap young ones in return? That's what we want right? Maybe in bizarre world.
  3. Being a bottom feeder team and not having your first round pick two years in a row seems like a recipe to stay at the bottom. I sure hope the Canucks keep the pick.
  4. Pretty standard stuff. Gms listen to offers and maybe there will be a good one from time to time.
  5. As much as I like this guy I don't think he is the same player he was a couple years back. It may be wise to pass this one up.
  6. I haven't seen a lot of tape on Sillinger but the buzz words in the scouting reports excite me. I see things like high hockey iq, powerful centre, creative, etc.... You are right though, there have been some comments that skating needs to get better but his coached believe he can accomplish this. I wonder if he had been able to.play in the dub if he may have been considered a legit top 10 pick or not. For me I would have him ranked 9ish for the Canucks because I've disregarded all goalies.
  7. Time to build from the net out. Defense is what this team needs, one or two minute munching defenders. I think if deployed right this team has plenty of scoring and prospects to work through the forward ranks as it stands, the depth could get challenged if injuries erupt but the top lines look pretty good imo.
  8. Larsson could have easily got more money and term had he waited until free agnecy officially opened up to sign but went with Seattle for a reason. Partially due to a favorable tax structure but I think the other reason being he was looking to avoid the microscope he was in in Edmonton after the Hall trade. Vancouver could be hard on the guy too and he probably knew that.
  9. Don't forget the, "it's not an easy climate to make trades...." or " trades are hard".
  10. They need to get bigger pucks in Edmonton. That should help. The New England Pat's used deflated balls so the Oil can use inflated Pucks. Sounds about right to.me.
  11. Yes... The Nugkins deal. Git er done and be spinning in the oil slick for almost the next decade.
  12. I say Quebec City but I hope no more expansion becase 32 teams is plenty. I would prefer that the league move some underperformers to better markets which should help the bottom line for the league.
  13. Is getting Geekie the same or different as getting Jiggy?
  14. This really seems like it should be Canucks priority #1. A solid RHD defender.... Get her done GMJB and do what you need to get the Krakers to take Holtby's dollars to free up the space because I know you are reading this!!!!!!!.
  15. I think you have over simplified the Edler situation as there is more to it than winning. For one, had the Canucks signed Edler already they would have left him unprotected in the expansion draft, then there is the dollars/term, overall roll on the team etc. Most of this was kept behind closed doors so not really a fair comparison. What I heard is that Bo is committed to winning with this team in Vancouver and it appears that many have chosen to make this into some type of sensational read between the lines tabloid style interbiew which it was not. Of course Bo is frustrated with losing, I would want him to be and I would want him to be hungry and be able to get more out of himself and I heard that is what he will be doing. I am looking forward to Bo being in a true number 2 centre spot next year and leave the defensive assignments to Dickenson and let Bo be the player we know he can be.
  16. Yup, Bo is a competitor and he wants to win in Vancouver.... I wouldn't want it any other way from the Canucks captain. This is very much a non story story.
  17. Speaking of all things HIGH. How you doing this day?
  18. Like Gretzky said, you don't score 100 percent of the time you don't shoot... I think Johnson is a solid pick. He would quickly surpass Hoglander in the skills department. In saying this, Button does seem to know a thing or two about sliding prospects and slid Johnson on his final list much like he did Virtanin so maybe there is something to this.
  19. Why? I have watched a lot of tape on him and he reminds me a lot of some of the most offensively gifted players in the NHL. If the Canucks are looking for pure offense then his is their guy as next to Petey, Johnson could stand to be the second best pure scorer on the team in a few years.
  20. Forsberg was the fiercest playoff performer that I can recall in recent memory. He gets it for me.
  21. Tough call where they go with this. Holtby for a veteran goalie of course. Lind, Gadj, Brisbois for farm depth. Highmore, McEwen and even Jake for cheap roster players. My gut makes me think with some of the high priced names floating about they may want some cap friendly help on the roster. I think they take Jake.
