  1. Elder had a bad year last year and his foot speed was so slow I cannot see any deal.as being good value at this point. I would prefer to let Edler walk at this point of his career because slowman plays like the one made on Hyman are a team liability.
  2. Iggy for his toughness and all around compete level. He is a great team guy who I would have on my team any day.
  3. Can we clone Willie Mitchell because he would be perfect for Hughes imo. A stay at home defenseman who can make a good first pass would be the perfect partner.
  4. Seems like it did make it worse because it took away a contract spot from the Oilers and filled it with a D grade prospect. Oilers would have done better getting an unsigned prospect at least.
  5. I don't know why but Duncan Keith to Edmonton make me want to post tthis video because really, wth else is there in Edmonton?
  6. I'd trade LE for a bag of stale peanuts about now and throw in the extra steak I'm getting ready to throw on the bbq for good measure..... I think Brian Burke looks hungry.....
  7. Not sure why you have reached that conclusion on Jett Woo. He likely will see NHL time this season as a deep NHL replacement and unless traded will be a fixture on this team in the years to come. He has played one..... yes just one .... professional season and showed impressive growth and maturity. He has the smarts to continue to improve. His game is different from other prospects like Rathbone and may take a couple more years to be ready but I am positive he will be a long time Canuck. Some want prospects to make the jump in their draft +1 or 2 seasons but that is not really a normal course of development for an average NHL defender. Many defenders are well into their early 20's before they start to become regulars. Back to the draft before someone gets upset that I'm not talking about the draft....... I take the BPA that is not a goalie in the first round....
  8. This had often been the knock on Edler earlier on so I wonder what the degree of similarities would be. The big difference maker though is that early in his career, Edler was protected but a pretty elite group of defenders and allowed to grow wheras Edvinsson may not have the same luxery.
  9. Sillinger does seem like a bit of a big intangible guy to me based on his u17 play and the scouting reports so I agree with your high assessment of him.
  10. I've had him in my top 9. That is top 9 for the Canucks, maybe not top 9 overall. I am qualifying this as the Canucks need to take a positional player and if names like Power, Berniers, Eklund, Hughes, Clarke, McTavish, Johnson, Guenther are gone I think Sillinger is a winner you go with. A bit of a dark horse I didn't list is Edvinsson. There seems to be hang ups about his decision making but if the talent is there I would be on the fence between him and Sillinger in the 9-10 spot.
  11. Like George Costanza, bet the opposite of every thing next year and at least win some cash. Ps the Toronto first round pick is irreconcilable.
  12. I'd like to do a poll on the best #99 not named Gretzky... should see some good ones in there. Nick orange shoes Hebler and race car driver Greg Moore come to mind.
  13. Noice move putting straight vodka in the bud light can. ....this is the only reason because no one gets drunk on American Bud Light like that.
  14. The sooner that real hockey resumes and fans can cheer in the stands the better for me. Looking forward to the draft, free agency, trades and hockey! It stands to be a great ride this off season so.lets enjoy. Go Canucks!!!!!
  15. By this reasoning one would have thought that the Canucks would have won a cup or two in their existence because there have been plenty of losing seasons to go around. Still love them though. Go Canucks!
  16. I'd rather have team depth overall. This takes patience to acquire and is the reason that all the prospects are graduating to the pro ranks.
  17. Haha..... Lots of great sports names here but only one Gordie. As a youngster I remember reading Howes book and admiring how hard this prairie kid had to work to become the man he was and the incredible hockey superstar he became. The game was so tough back then and Gordie was one of the toughest and the best. My hat goes off to this #9.
  18. This is too close to call for me. I took Cujo because he could win with some bad teams and make them look good.
  19. Richard hands down. Maybe not his brother but he played in a tough Era and was pretty elite himself. Hull is a peewee in comparison who couldnt hold Richard's jock strap.
  20. Pretty nasty squad right there. Lots of ways to score and the creativity is out of this world in this group.
  21. Abbotsford Canucks it seems. Nothing official yet but some speculation here. "The Abbotsford Canucks? New AHL team may share parent team’s name | Abbotsford News" https://www.abbynews.com/sports/the-abbotsford-canucks-new-ahl-team-may-share-parent-teams-name/amp/
