  1. With all this talk about Seider I was hoping to see him play this morning, looks like the only games on is Sweden/Italy....that said, I'm good "settling" for watching Dekey Pete anyday
  2. Lucic is such a selfish and undisciplined player, I don't want him.
  3. For what it's worth............take with a huge grain of salt , personally I think it is quite laughable that the Canucks would give up picks, prospects and players to land this injury prone 30ish veteran. https://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Eklund/Rumor-Vancouver-Making-Major-Play-for-Malkine4-Buzzcast-at-1pm/1/99262 Rumor: Vancouver Making Major Play for Malkin(e4); Buzzcast at 1pm May 1, 2019, 12:33 PM ET [14 Comments] EklundRSS • Archive • CONTACT I will be back this afternoon with day three of my Summer 2019 Preview where i will focus on some trade scenarios that we are chasing for the draft, but I just got this call and had to get it out first... As you may remember, after the Penguins lost in the first round to the NY Islanders I wrote how I was immediately hearing the Penguins were strongly deliberating about the future of Geno in Pittsburgh. Malkin has been a good soldier, but certainly wants to be the ace of the staff somewhere, and Crosby will always be above him on the depth chart... Well now comes the first serious team who is looking into this.. The Vancouver Canucks have had internal discussions and also have let it be known that they would like to take a shot at bringing Malkin to British Columbia... No names out there yet....but I will be keeping close tabs..stay tuned for my blog this afternoon regarding Trades and the Draft...
  4. That's essentially my thoughts, that is, there may be top ten teams going for Broberg and Soderstrom allowing higher ranked forwards to fall to the Canucks. Frome around pick #6 or 7 to about 14 it is really anyone's guess
  5. If the draft goes like this, Krebs goes tenth...
  6. Adam Gaudette is trending about the same as Ryan Kesler was at around the same age. Not saying he will be as good but for a first year pro Gaudette had a very solid year.
  7. Really warmed up to Krebs in this tournament. Of course there may be better players but assuming that the top 9 go more or less as planned (i.e. Hughes, Kakko, Dach, Cozens, Byran, Pozkholin sp?, Zefras, Turcotte, Boldy...), and Krebs is still there I would love to see him as a Canuck. He oozes leadership and other intangibles and even if his ceiling is a 60-70 point per year player he is well worth the pick.
  8. The Canucks still have large holes at all positions Signing Karlsson would mean that this team will not be able to keep all of their good young players so that signing would be a huge mistake. Patience, good drafting and player development are all that is needed.
  9. Man things were sure good in 2011. Love ya Jannick.....great player and great Canuck!
  10. you get Dube and a first out of Calgary and you stop there.....Subban can suck it in Nashville.
  11. Keith Gretzky is a hockey guy who does have an extensive scouting background which makes me think that if the Canucks have interest it may be for that or some other assistant role. As for President? It is a very big stretch to imagine this.
  12. That's kind of cool.... I like Seattle Sasquatch I hate the Kraken.......too many bad butt jokes and drug jokes come from that.
  13. It is hard to tell what anyone's noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community is. About all I can say is good luck to Edler .
  14. Louie really isn't hurting this team right now, he is just a highly paid 4th line player who is also an excellent penalty killer.
  15. I think that sometimes (and this is one of those times) we like draft picks better than we like real life NHL players.
  16. These guys played pretty uninspired hockey this tear in the playoffs. Pittsburgh should shake things up and move Malkin but it would probably be next to impossible to get the appropriate return back for a highly paid 32 year old star.
  17. That's a nice report. The Canucks have 3 6th round picks so for sure one of them should be a goalie. According to Jim, "you can never have enough goalies".
  18. I would be happy to see them drop down 1 or two spots if it still meant that GMJB could get his guy and perhaps add another 3rd or 4th round pick. Unless of course, his guy is at #10 then grab him. The Canucks have improved the prospect pool but it ism still a fairly shallow pool of potential NHL'ers so more picks are a good thing.
  19. Always liked AV...hope he survives Philly, they could be a team that is hard to get a read on which direction they are heading.
