  1. Santorelli got injured most of the season Higgins not exactly a carrer year Bieksa also injured but had a decent year for him Hamhuis always good, although some on CDC still want to trade him Lack first real opportunity to shine, more to do with Gillis then Torts Tanev was getting better every year under AV, just continued to progress under Torts Richardson, 23 pts this season. Decent but not great for a 3rd liner. Sestito really???
  2. Good call. Wasn't a fan of the Torts hire in the first place. Normally I hate to see someone loose their job but Torts had it coming by implementing the wrong system for the wrong players and lossing control of himself and his player. By hiring the Linden the Canucks took a step towards winning respect around the league back, keeping Torts would have been a huge step back.
  3. Just did on online quiz on world capitals, where I was told "Ottawa is not just Canada's capital it is also it's largest city" Say What? http://traveltips.usatoday.com/test-knowledge-world-capitals-110838.html

Maybe it was making a joke about all the politicians' egos.

  4. Projecting that many prospects will make an NHL team is also wishful thinking.
  5. This is the first time I have ever heard anyone call Burrows a PP specialist. For the majority of his carrer including when he was putting big numbers with the twins he rarely got any PP time. Burrows is more of a PK specialist then a PP one. We have a ton of all round players who can play in all situations (Kesler, Burrows, Higgins, Horvat, Gaunce, Cassels) what we don't have much of is pure offesnive stars which is why our PP was so sH8Tty this year.
  6. I seem to remember Etem fell quite a bit in his draft year, most thought LA would grab him earlier but they past on him and he feel to the other local team the Ducks.
  7. For what it's worth I just went back and looked at the 6th overall pick since the 2004 draft, honestly not alot of talent taken at this spot over the years. 2013- Sean Monahan 2012- Hampus Lindholm 2011- Mika Zibanejad 2010- Brett Connolly 2009- OEL 2008- Filatov 2007- Sam Gagner 2006- Brassard 2005- Brule 2004- Montoya OEL was by far the best player taken. Brule was the biggest bust. Too early to tell on Connlly, Zibanejad and Lindholm. Monahan looks like a solid pick. Filatov showed flashes of ellite talent but looks to be a bust as well. Brassard had a good rookie year but is a 2/3c and will never be a game breaker so many of us hope the Canucks can get with this pick. Montoya is finally getting a chance in the Peg but looks like a 1B goalie at best.
  8. Correct my bad. Must be tired, Gaunce obviously plays with Fox in Errie.
  9. If you want 2/3 of the top Jr. lines why not go for Dal Colle instead of Ritchie? So we have Dal Colle/Cassels.
  10. The team desperately needs a playmaker, lucky for us Dal Colle and Drastill are pretty good playmakers. I'd be happy with either one but voted for the winger as we are already pretty deep at centre with our prospect pool.
  11. Should be the series to watch this playoffs. I honestly beleive whoever wins this series will go on to the Cup finals. My prediction Blues in 7, they'll continue to struggle early but turn it around just in time to squek out a series win.
  12. How about Messier as "chip" boy. Wellwood would sign here for free.
  13. Edler +Kesler and prospect may work, but only if Subban asks for a trade ot otherwise pisses of Montreal fans and/or management.
  14. So AV's team is making the playoffs but the Canucks aren't. Sadly not an April Fools joke.
  15. So the Knights play the Storm in round 2. Anyone know anything about the Storm other than they had a great regular season? What are the Knight's chances of advancing? It would be fun to see them play Gaunce/Fox and the Otters in the semi's.
  16. Not sure if this has already been posted but Horvat was ranked the 27th best overall prospect in Hockey Futures latest rankings. The rankings aren't all announced yet but he's likely the only Canuck to make the list, unless Markstrom squeaks in ahead of him somehow. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/articles/105545/top-50-kucherov-heads-21-30-section-of-rankings-that-includes-several-new-names/
  17. The Otters play their first playoff game of the season today.
  18. This team could really use another elite playmaker, anyone like that in this years draft you experts think we should consider? Dal Colle, would be great if he's still available when we pick, he also has good chemistry with Cassels.
  19. Before Torts was hired I joked around about giving anyone who suggested the Canucks hire him a virtual punch in the stomach. I really should have followed through on that.

  20. MG was the GM when we won the Presidents trophy what changed was the coach. MG made some mistakes but by far his worst was hiring Torts.
  21. So many funny connections with this trade *Lack use to back up Markstrom in Sweden *Luongo on the same team as 2011 playoff rival Tim Thomas, neither on their 2011 team anymore *Mathias was traded to Florida for former Canuck Tod Bertuzzi, who of course Florida got for Luongo in the first place
  22. You obviously know very little about the players we got back. Matthias will make the team as a very good 3rd line centre, unless Kesler gets moved in which case he becomes a slightly bellow average 2nd line centre. Markstrom has the potential to be an ellite goalie but as for now he'll back up his former back up Lack.
  23. Interesting to see Lack and Markstrom on the same team again. Lack used to Markstroms backup in Sweden, this time it may be the other way around.
