  1. Don't ask them to explain the details of their tinfoil delusions. It's hard enough to get them to provide some sources for their clams
  2. It's like in sports. People like to celebrate a lead before the game is over. 28-3 rings a bell. The light is right there for us. When have vaccination rates like this, we are getting close. However, the people who haven't been vaccinated by choice still represent hundreds of thousands of people. Even a fraction of a percent of these people represent enough to overwhelm our healthcare system. That costs us tax dollars and lives. That will make people waiting for elective procedures wait even longer. This is the problem that these unvaccinated by choice represent. They are the problem. The solution takes less than an hour of their time and costs us way, way way way less. Instead they make it much much much more difficult for us and are the reason this nightmare is being prolonged. https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2021HLTH0231-002415 As of Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, 86.9% (4,332,204) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 82.5% (4,113,484) have received their second dose. In addition, 91.6% (4,247,470) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 88.7% (4,113,431) received their second dose and 15% (688,167) have received a third dose. Also, 92% (3,979,851) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 89.2% (3,859,565) received their second dose and 16% (687,413) have received a third dose.
  3. I think the protocols for fully vaccinated players is a little harsh. Unvaccinated, not so much. In other news, Kyrie got the 'rona https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/32895227/kevin-durant-becomes-8th-brooklyn-nets-player-enter-nba-health-safety-protocol Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving latest Brooklyn Nets players to enter NBA's health and safety protocols
  4. You obviously don't look at Vintage's posts. He's been posting the Covid updates for months now. The story has been the same time after time. BC has been breaking down cases and hospitalizations, adjusting for age and population. The chances of getting Covid and being hospitalized due to Covid are much, much greater for unvaccinated people than if they were vaccinated. This kind of data has been reported by multiple jurisdictions for months now. So yes, if you are unvaccinated by choice, you are the problem. Period. Publicly available data backs me up. You, just got anecdotal "evidence" and some quack on a self-proclaimed "idiots" podcast is all you got. Sad. https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2021HLTH0231-002415 Past week, cases per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (Dec. 9-15) Not vaccinated: 186.1 Partially vaccinated: 33.8 Fully vaccinated: 42.9 Past two weeks, cases hospitalized per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (Dec. 2-15) Not vaccinated: 23.8 Partially vaccinated: 4.9 Fully vaccinated: 1.0
  5. Yes. That 10% represents hundreds of thousands of people here in BC. Our heath care system is taxed and if even a fraction of those end up in hospital in a short period of time, it could be bad for anyone who needs heath care like elective surgeries. If you are unvaccinated by choice, you are part of the problem. Period.
  6. Looks like a vaccine for those under 5 will take a little longer. https://www.nytimes.com/live/2021/12/17/world/covid-omicron-vaccines#in-a-trial-pfizer-biontechs-low-dose-shot-did-not-provoke-an-adequate-immune-response-in-2-to-5-year-olds In a trial, Pfizer-BioNTech’s low-dose shot fell short for children aged 2 to just under 5. A low dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine did not produce a potent immune response in children aged 2 to just under 5 years of age, the companies announced on Friday, a discouraging setback that threatens to keep the vaccine from younger children for longer than many parents had hoped. In ongoing clinical trials, the companies tested 3 micrograms of the vaccine — one-tenth of the adult dose — in children 6 months to less than 5 years of age. After two doses, children between 6 months and 2 years produced an immune response that was comparable to that of people aged 16 to 25 years, the companies said. But children between 2 and 5 years old did not. The companies said they now would test a third low dose of the coronavirus vaccine in children 6 months to under 5 years of age. But they do not plan to test a higher dose of the vaccine in children between 2 and 5 years of age. “The goal here is to understand the potential of protection of the third dose,” said Jerica Pitts, a spokeswoman for Pfizer. “We are studying 3 micrograms at this time.” In a conference call with investors and analysts on Friday, Kathrin Jansen, Pfizer’s head of vaccine research, said the company planned to seek authorization for a “three-dose series” in children, instead of the originally planned two doses. If the revised strategy works, “we would have a consistent three-dose vaccine approach for all ages,” she said. The announcement underscores the emerging idea among many experts that people should be considered “fully vaccinated” only after receiving what are now viewed as booster shots: three doses of the mRNA vaccines made by Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna, or after receiving at least one additional shot following a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Early studies indicate that three doses of the mRNA vaccines may provide a stronger bulwark against the Omicron variant than two doses. In the ongoing trial, children younger than 5 years of age will receive 3 micrograms of the vaccine at least two months after their second dose. Pfizer and BioNTech also plan to evaluate a third dose of 10 micrograms — one-third of the adult dose — in children 5 through 12 years of age. The changes have been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency, according to a statement released by the companies on Friday. The companies say they would seek F.D.A. authorization for a three-dose series in younger children in the first half of 2022. The F.D.A. last week authorized booster shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for adolescents ages 16 to 17. Pfizer did not provide an update on when it planned to ask the agency to authorize booster shots for children ages 5 to 15 years of age. The F.D.A. has authorized the full adult dose for immunizations of adolescents 12 through 17 years of age. The companies plan to test booster doses of 10 or 30 micrograms to assess the safety and potency of both doses in 600 children in that age group. The mRNA vaccines have been linked in some rare cases to heart problems in boys and young men, prompting some experts to suggest a lower dose for adolescents.
  7. When Delta started, there were a lot of reports that it was "milder". Incorrectly BTW. Here is a source to back this up. We'd love to see some of your sources. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/jun/14/delta-variant-covid-symptoms-include-headaches-sore-throat-and-runny-nose The data is incomplete. PERIOD. So taking this seriously is the correct course of action.
  8. He says, but the scientific articles that have been posted here (Nature and New England Journal of Medicine no less) say Covid is worse for heart issues.
  9. I think that the issue was when the video was published, the pages were still up, but since the video was published, it is possible that those pages became archived. Simple searches on the sites in question or google. So, there. If that is it then what now? 10. Would love to see you provide some sources that we should open things up and just let nature take its course.
  11. You seem like the type that needs to watch YouTube/Bitchute videos to get your information. Here's one. Unlike the typical tinfoil hatter video, sources are in the description.
  12. Well, we still have hundreds of thousands of people who are unvaccinated, many by choice. We have a variant that is much more contagious than the previous variants. We do not know enough about this variant to claim that it is not a big deal. Our healthcare system is being taxed to the limit with this pandemic. Public health measures reduce the transmission of a contagious virus and thus, reduces the number of people who may need to go to the hospital. Vaccines provide your body with the tools to fight off infections. They are not a magical force field that prevents you from getting infected when exposed to a virus Does that clear it up for you.
  13. HE pushed hydroxychloroquine hard among other BS.
  14. One of the main things you need to know about that quack is his membership in the The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS). Sounds legit, but the moment you did a search on them, you find out otherwise. The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) is a politically conservative non-profit association that promotes medical misinformation, such as HIV/AIDS denialism, the abortion-breast cancer hypothesis, vaccine and autism connections, and homosexuality reducing life expectancy. The association was founded in 1943 to oppose a government attempt to nationalize health care. The group has included notable members, including American Republican politicians Ron Paul, Rand Paul and Tom Price.
  15. If we were still dealing with the original strain, and not Delta and Omicron, then a lower threshold would be needed. With the variants and how more contagious they are, then the threshold will be much much higher. Very simple, but for some hard to follow. Science is self-correcting. So, changes in message can, and do happen. For you, those changes are proof of what? And BTW it is early days for Omicron. We fully do not know the implications for this variant yet. The prudent thing is to treat it a a serious thing. There are still lots of people who could be vaccinated who choose not to. Your idea of letting this thing run wild is not a plan of action worth taking.

  17. mean like this one. The archived LHA maps are in these colours. The new one on the page, that I posted earlier is in purple. http://www.bccdc.ca/health-info/diseases-conditions/covid-19/data
  18. What page are you referring to? The B.C. Covid-19 Dashboard is active: https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/a6f23959a8b14bfa989e3cda29297ded Or is it this map from this page: http://www.bccdc.ca/health-info/diseases-conditions/covid-19/data
  19. Yes. Vintage has been posting the data that backs this up. Hospitalizations including ICU patients would go down big time if this was the case. The people who have been complaining the loudest are most likely part of the group that is prolonging this nightmare. If you are unvaccinated by choice in Canada right now, you are the problem. Period.
  20. It's our nature. Even during the Spanish flu pandemic, there were jurisdictions that implemented public health initiatives late and/or relaxed them early. Those jurisdictions saw higher death rates. History repeated. Both early response and not relaxing early are discussed in this from 2007. https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/rapid-response-was-crucial-containing-1918-flu-pandemic
  21. Considering one year ago regular Canadian citizens started getting vaccinated, its sad that we're still talking about travel restrictions and limitations on public gatherings. We are so close to achieving north of 90% full vaccination, a shot for under 5, and Pfizer's antiviral pill is close to approval. I am hopeful that the light at the end of the tunnel is close. https://beta.ctvnews.ca/national/coronavirus/2020/12/14/1_5230184.html V-Day': First COVID-19 vaccines administered in Canada
  22. Hey, I'll add this one. In summary, this population-based study quantifies for the first time the risk of several rare cardiac adverse events associated with three COVID-19 vaccines as well as SARS-CoV-2 infection. Vaccination for SARS-CoV-2 in adults was associated with a small increase in the risk of myocarditis within a week of receiving the first dose of both adenovirus and mRNA vaccines, and after the second dose of both mRNA vaccines. By contrast, SARS-CoV-2 infection was associated with a substantial increase in the risk of hospitalization or death from myocarditis, pericarditis and cardiac arrhythmia. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41591-021-01630-0) Risks of myocarditis, pericarditis, and cardiac arrhythmias associated with COVID-19 vaccination or SARS-CoV-2 infection Abstract Although myocarditis and pericarditis were not observed as adverse events in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine trials, there have been numerous reports of suspected cases following vaccination in the general population. We undertook a self-controlled case series study of people aged 16 or older vaccinated for COVID-19 in England between 1 December 2020 and 24 August 2021 to investigate hospital admission or death from myocarditis, pericarditis and cardiac arrhythmias in the 1–28 days following adenovirus (ChAdOx1, n = 20,615,911) or messenger RNA-based (BNT162b2, n = 16,993,389; mRNA-1273, n = 1,006,191) vaccines or a severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) positive test (n = 3,028,867). We found increased risks of myocarditis associated with the first dose of ChAdOx1 and BNT162b2 vaccines and the first and second doses of the mRNA-1273 vaccine over the 1–28 days postvaccination period, and after a SARS-CoV-2 positive test. We estimated an extra two (95% confidence interval (CI) 0, 3), one (95% CI 0, 2) and six (95% CI 2, 8) myocarditis events per 1 million people vaccinated with ChAdOx1, BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273, respectively, in the 28 days following a first dose and an extra ten (95% CI 7, 11) myocarditis events per 1 million vaccinated in the 28 days after a second dose of mRNA-1273. This compares with an extra 40 (95% CI 38, 41) myocarditis events per 1 million patients in the 28 days following a SARS-CoV-2 positive test. We also observed increased risks of pericarditis and cardiac arrhythmias following a positive SARS-CoV-2 test. Similar associations were not observed with any of the COVID-19 vaccines, apart from an increased risk of arrhythmia following a second dose of mRNA-1273. Subgroup analyses by age showed the increased risk of myocarditis associated with the two mRNA vaccines was present only in those younger than 40. Fig. 2: Number of excess events due to exposure per 1 million exposed, as reported in Supplementary Table 10. From: Risks of myocarditis, pericarditis, and cardiac arrhythmias associated with COVID-19 vaccination or SARS-CoV-2 infection
  23. Merck's antiviral for Covid didn't have great results, but Pfizers "apparently" does. Let's hope this pans out and adds to the toolbox going forward. Let's also hope that 2022 is the light at the end of the tunnel. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/12/14/pfizer-says-covid-19-pill-near-90percent-effective-in-final-analysis-.html Pfizer says Covid-19 pill near 90% effective in final analysis Pfizer on Tuesday said final analysis of its antiviral Covid-19 pill still showed near 90% efficacy in preventing hospitalizations and deaths in high-risk patients. Recent lab data suggests the drug retains its effectiveness against the fast-spreading omicron variant of the coronavirus.
