  1. I'll give it a shot. Just my BSc in Chem layperson here. It appears like the over 50 unvacinated had very few cases of delta compared to the vaccinated group. It also appears like the majority of the deaths came from this age group. I'm on my phone so I'll let someone normalize the data, but I have a hunch that if there were more cases of Delta in the over 50 group of unvacinated, their death total would be larger. Also, I believe that the UK had a lot more of the AstraZeneca than we did. That also might explain.
  2. So you want this to end. Pick one 1) mass vaccination including vaccine requirements. 2) strick lockdowns with business closures. 3) let the virus run its course and overwhelm the healthcare system. ICUs filled to overflowing. There is no easy way out of this. Every one of these kinda suck in their own way. That being said, the best choice seems pretty clear.
  3. I don't think you realize that you are not making the point you think you are making. Few things: 1) If a crime is committed, you can't just point to an ex-con and say they did it because they are an ex-con. You need to provide evidence that they indeed committed the crime you are currently investigating. You are essentially saying that because of past deeds, the government is guilty here yet provide no actual evidence. 2) Those instances are not discovered and reported on without EVIDENCE. Any competent researcher or journalists knows this. 3) Data in these vaccines is being tracked and recorded by multiple different jurisdictions. There are multiple vaccines produced by competitors. If you cannot trust that, then please provide us with sources you do trust. Talk is cheap when all you do is toss stones. Now it is time for you to defend your glass house. Put up or shut up pal.
  4. Do we have an example for the subreddit: r/AteTheOnion
  5. First off, this is in NOOOO way equivalent to what happened with the Nazis. Second, this is a PUBLIC HEALTH issue. Thirdly, the safety and efficacy has been demonstrated by DATA. Side effects happen for all medications. For vaccines, they largely happen early on, like within 60 days. The phase 3 participants were getting their jabs this time LAST YEAR. There were millions of people who got their first jabs last December and were fully vaccinated going on 6 months now. Billions of doses have been administered. If there is any kind of safety issue, it has been reported on (the clotting issue for one) and has been demonstrated by the DATA to be orders of magnitude safer than the virus. It isn't even close. Finally, those lists you refer to, they were discovered by doctors, scientist through experimentation/observation. It is based on EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE. The best the anti-vaxx crowd can do is post some jagoff Bitchuite video that itself doesn't provide any sources, or any source data.
  6. Oh, they think they are being victims of terrorism. That their freedoms are being taken from them. They just need a sec to come up with their new excuses since the FDA approval destroyed some of their "best" ones.
  7. The Karen videos are going to be plentiful.
  8. Here is a full list of where vaccine will be required: Indoor ticketed sporting events Indoor concerts Indoor theatre/dance/symphony events Restaurants (indoor and patio dining) Night clubs Casinos Movie theatres Fitness centres/gyms (excluding youth recreational sport) Businesses offering indoor high-intensity group exercise activities Organized indoor events (eg. weddings, parties, conferences, meetings, workshops) Discretionary organized indoor group recreational classes and activities
  9. I imagine they will follow similar guidelines to those of domestic air travel. Seems like there will be some requirements in October as well. https://bc.ctvnews.ca/unclear-if-bc-ferries-will-be-included-in-federal-vaccination-requirements-for-some-travel-in-canada-1.5546805 Unclear if BC Ferries will be included in federal vaccination requirements for some travel in Canada
  10. From the article explaining how vaccination status will be verified. A secure weblink will be provided and publicized before Sept. 13, where people will be able to confidentially access their proof of vaccination. Individuals will be able to save a copy to their phone to show it when entering or using designated businesses and events. People who cannot access their records online will be provided with a secure alternative option, officials said. https://globalnews.ca/news/8133780/bc-proof-vaccination-program/?fbclid=IwAR2zQ4pCW6hvLHEErj8fk_Qmu8pPOZs4V5a3qulVgNwLQwE99Jg6oE9y5lY B.C. becomes second province to require proof of vaccination, starting Sept. 13
  11. Here is the other bit. So basically, if it is indoors, you will need the jab by mid October. Big Bank employees will be Oct.31/Nov1. So good luck to the anti-vaxxers out there.
  12. From a few days ago. But has to be said again https://www.axios.com/biden-trump-taliban-deal-afghanistan-005e1d03-1477-4cc4-95c6-90629182d4f5.html Biden says he would've withdrawn from Afghanistan even without Trump's Taliban deal President Biden told ABC's George Stephanopoulos that he would have tried to withdraw all U.S. troops from Afghanistan even if former President Trump had not struck a deal with the Taliban to get out of the country by May 1. Why it matters: Biden has sought to deflect blame on to the former president for the swift Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, saying that the peace deal Trump signed with the Taliban in 2020 set the stage for the subsequent withdrawal. Under the terms of the deal, the Taliban agreed not to attack U.S. troops if the military withdrew by May 1. "When I became President, I faced a choice — follow through on the deal, with a brief extension to get our forces and our allies’ forces out safely, or ramp up our presence and send more American troops to fight once again in another country’s civil conflict," Biden said in a statement last week, hours before Kabul fell to the Taliban. Driving the news: ."I would have tried to figure out how to withdraw those troops, yes, because ... there is no good time to leave Afghanistan," Biden told Stephanopoulos when asked what he would have done if there was no peace deal. "15 years ago would have been a problem, 15 years from now — the basic choice is, am I going to send your sons and your daughters to war in Afghanistan in perpetuity." "No one can name for a time when this would end and what constitutes defeat of the Taliban," Biden said. The big picture: Biden has long been a skeptic of the war in Afghanistan, insisting that the original mission was not to "nation-build" and that it's not realistic to protect human rights with military force. Since Sunday, thousands of Afghans have fled their homes to escape the Taliban takeover, causing scenes of chaos at airports and on roads. Biden has continued to defend the decision to withdraw, telling Stephanopoulos that there was no way to withdraw troops from Afghanistan "without chaos ensuing." 13. Here is the FDA's news release. Seen it when I opened up Reddit just now. https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-approves-first-covid-19-vaccine FDA Approves First COVID-19 Vaccine Approval Signifies Key Achievement for Public Health Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the first COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine has been known as the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, and will now be marketed as Comirnaty (koe-mir’-na-tee), for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older. The vaccine also continues to be available under emergency use authorization (EUA), including for individuals 12 through 15 years of age and for the administration of a third dose in certain immunocompromised individuals. “The FDA’s approval of this vaccine is a milestone as we continue to battle the COVID-19 pandemic. While this and other vaccines have met the FDA’s rigorous, scientific standards for emergency use authorization, as the first FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine, the public can be very confident that this vaccine meets the high standards for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality the FDA requires of an approved product,” said Acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock, M.D. “While millions of people have already safely received COVID-19 vaccines, we recognize that for some, the FDA approval of a vaccine may now instill additional confidence to get vaccinated. Today’s milestone puts us one step closer to altering the course of this pandemic in the U.S.” Since Dec. 11, 2020, the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine has been available under EUA in individuals 16 years of age and older, and the authorization was expanded to include those 12 through 15 years of age on May 10, 2021. EUAs can be used by the FDA during public health emergencies to provide access to medical products that may be effective in preventing, diagnosing, or treating a disease, provided that the FDA determines that the known and potential benefits of a product, when used to prevent, diagnose, or treat the disease, outweigh the known and potential risks of the product. FDA-approved vaccines undergo the agency’s standard process for reviewing the quality, safety and effectiveness of medical products. For all vaccines, the FDA evaluates data and information included in the manufacturer’s submission of a biologics license application (BLA). A BLA is a comprehensive document that is submitted to the agency providing very specific requirements. For Comirnaty, the BLA builds on the extensive data and information previously submitted that supported the EUA, such as preclinical and clinical data and information, as well as details of the manufacturing process, vaccine testing results to ensure vaccine quality, and inspections of the sites where the vaccine is made. The agency conducts its own analyses of the information in the BLA to make sure the vaccine is safe and effective and meets the FDA’s standards for approval. Comirnaty contains messenger RNA (mRNA), a kind of genetic material. The mRNA is used by the body to make a mimic of one of the proteins in the virus that causes COVID-19. The result of a person receiving this vaccine is that their immune system will ultimately react defensively to the virus that causes COVID-19. The mRNA in Comirnaty is only present in the body for a short time and is not incorporated into - nor does it alter - an individual’s genetic material. Comirnaty has the same formulation as the EUA vaccine and is administered as a series of two doses, three weeks apart. “Our scientific and medical experts conducted an incredibly thorough and thoughtful evaluation of this vaccine. We evaluated scientific data and information included in hundreds of thousands of pages, conducted our own analyses of Comirnaty’s safety and effectiveness, and performed a detailed assessment of the manufacturing processes, including inspections of the manufacturing facilities,” said Peter Marks, M.D., Ph.D., director of FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research. “We have not lost sight that the COVID-19 public health crisis continues in the U.S. and that the public is counting on safe and effective vaccines. The public and medical community can be confident that although we approved this vaccine expeditiously, it was fully in keeping with our existing high standards for vaccines in the U.S." FDA Evaluation of Safety and Effectiveness Data for Approval for 16 Years of Age and Older The first EUA, issued Dec. 11, for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for individuals 16 years of age and older was based on safety and effectiveness data from a randomized, controlled, blinded ongoing clinical trial of thousands of individuals. To support the FDA’s approval decision today, the FDA reviewed updated data from the clinical trial which supported the EUA and included a longer duration of follow-up in a larger clinical trial population. Specifically, in the FDA’s review for approval, the agency analyzed effectiveness data from approximately 20,000 vaccine and 20,000 placebo recipients ages 16 and older who did not have evidence of the COVID-19 virus infection within a week of receiving the second dose. The safety of Comirnaty was evaluated in approximately 22,000 people who received the vaccine and 22,000 people who received a placebo 16 years of age and older. Based on results from the clinical trial, the vaccine was 91% effective in preventing COVID-19 disease. More than half of the clinical trial participants were followed for safety outcomes for at least four months after the second dose. Overall, approximately 12,000 recipients have been followed for at least 6 months. The most commonly reported side effects by those clinical trial participants who received Comirnaty were pain, redness and swelling at the injection site, fatigue, headache, muscle or joint pain, chills, and fever. The vaccine is effective in preventing COVID-19 and potentially serious outcomes including hospitalization and death. Additionally, the FDA conducted a rigorous evaluation of the post-authorization safety surveillance data pertaining to myocarditis and pericarditis following administration of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine and has determined that the data demonstrate increased risks, particularly within the seven days following the second dose. The observed risk is higher among males under 40 years of age compared to females and older males. The observed risk is highest in males 12 through 17 years of age. Available data from short-term follow-up suggest that most individuals have had resolution of symptoms. However, some individuals required intensive care support. Information is not yet available about potential long-term health outcomes. The Comirnaty Prescribing Information includes a warning about these risks. Ongoing Safety Monitoring The FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have monitoring systems in place to ensure that any safety concerns continue to be identified and evaluated in a timely manner. In addition, the FDA is requiring the company to conduct postmarketing studies to further assess the risks of myocarditis and pericarditis following vaccination with Comirnaty. These studies will include an evaluation of long-term outcomes among individuals who develop myocarditis following vaccination with Comirnaty. In addition, although not FDA requirements, the company has committed to additional post-marketing safety studies, including conducting a pregnancy registry study to evaluate pregnancy and infant outcomes after receipt of Comirnaty during pregnancy. The FDA granted this application Priority Review. The approval was granted to BioNTech Manufacturing GmbH. 14. FULL APPROVAL And with that, anti-vaxxer goalpost move with lightning speed as a number of their BS excuses died today.
  15. 17. And it also shows us that context matters. You do realize that someone with very low viral load who is actually successfully fighting off the infection, someone with very mild symptoms, someone with significant symptoms, or someone who is asymptomatic will all give a positive PCR test. Not all of those are the same. And in the case of the vaccinated, it will be interesting to see if long-covid will even be a thing. You do realize that between 10% and 30% of people who got infected suffer persistent symptoms for weeks, months, even over a year after "recovering" from the infection. If vaccines are a waste of time, then similar numbers of vaccinated people should suffer long-covid, no?
  18. Don't worry, they'll just move the goalposts or come up with some new tinfoil conspiracy excuse. All in the name of freedumb. EDIT: Vaccine mandates will be coming. When Canada's big banks are on board, then many smaller businesses and other corporations will be following. Big banks have teams of lawyers, so you know they looked into the legal ramifications of it.

  20. About Israel and the "breakthrough" cases. BC reported a similar finding earlier this summer. The graph was posted before, but I'll post again. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israeli-doctors-find-severe-covid-19-breakthrough-cases-mostly-older-sicker-2021-08-20/?utm_source=reddit.com Israeli doctors find severe COVID-19 breakthrough cases mostly in older, sicker patients
