  1. I'd like to see what the full proposal is. Especially if it doesn't include Mantha or Nyquist before I pass judgement.
  2. In his defense.. or in any player who has to sit idle for a month before playing as the host team at the Memorial Cup... Its hard to just hop back in and expect to rip it up when you're playing against 3 teams who are flying high, full of blood sweat and tears together to make the tournament and have come together to being the best team in their respective leagues. Even if it took a game or 2 to get going.. you're done by then. I agree that Horvat didn't do much in the Memorial Cup. I will also agree that he went from the top line to start the World Juniors and ended up on the 3rd line by the end of the tournament. This is where I see Horvat fitting in.. as a 3C. Personally I do not want Ehlers. Yes he is skilled but once the NHL/AHL development staff get a hold of this guy, he won't be using much of his skill and will be expected to get rid of the creativity and play a team game.
  3. His injuries hurt his development. From being the all-time leading goal scorer for the US World Junior team.. I saw some upside.. He just hasn't been able to stay healthy once turning pro and won't catch stride. At best, I would give him a 2 year 2-way contract. I wouldn't be sad to see him go though.
  4. I am happy with the point they got and putting up 3 goals this past weekend. Just the way they stopped playing for 10 minutes and got scored on so quickly was a piss off.
  5. Schoreder hasn't been given a fair chance to make the team due to injuries and coaches not giving their youth a chance to make mistakes and learn. But then I look at where he fits in and the only spot I see making sense is the 3C and I feel someone younger like a Horvat will come in and get that chance. I don't see a fit for him anymore unless he starts playing a bigger game for a smaller guy. Maybe a 2-year 2 way deal.
  6. The team didn't show up in the playoffs for the Canucks, two 1st round exits in a row. Both of which our offense was dry. You can even include the SCF we were in. Something obviously had to give. Gillis wanted to save his own job so he let go AV. What else was there for him to do? He wasn't respected around the league as a GM and couldn't get anything done beside minor retooling. Congrats to AV. I am happy for his success. Just sucks that we brought a coach in Torts to Vancouver and we all know what happened with our record and his job... while AV went the other way and took a good team and made them even better.
  7. I did expect more out of him then what he has shown so far. The first handful of games he looked lost out there as hes adjusting to a new system which is understandable. On the PP, he would skate into the slot and be active but that isn't the way our PP is set up. 2 points though for a guy who was brought in to put up numbers and play on the PP is not good. His shots are not getting through to the net as he is rushed, his skating is average, and overall, he hasn't been as good as I thought he would be. I hope he turns it around the 2nd half of the year and puts up some points. He needs to shoot more with only 23 shots so far in 15 games... he has gotta find a way to get his shot off. I have seen a couple games where he hasn't even been put on the PP. Heres to hoping he gets better and better each game, I know my hockey pool team I drafted will benefit.
  8. Was the reason we won Game 7 in Round 1 against the Hawks.
  9. Can't wait to see the spike on the revenue graph... will show just how many free rides there were.
  10. I don't mind Burrows on either line, Sedins or with Kes, as long as the line is producing. We are still a top 6 forward away.
  11. Thanks for this thread.. some of these new thread creators should take a look at this before making new useless thread about what Eklund is saying.
