  1. In your opinion, was Brendan Morrison a first line centre in his prime?

      the west coast express

was at one time the best line in the nhl

it clearly was an elite first line

      and morrison was the centre

isn't that enough to fulfill the definition of 1st line center?

      i certainly think it is

Yup, he was a good complimentary player.

It's not like the first line was built around Bmo, he was just a great fit for Bert and Nazzy

Strictly going off of the points/ game metric, if we ignored his 2011-12 season where he totaled 11 points in 39 games (clearly he was tailing off by then), he was good for 590 points in 895 games (0.66 points/ game).  Even the slight dip to 0.64 with those 39 games involved is a solid rate.  In his highest scoring season (71 points in 82 games) he finished just outside the top-30 league wide at 31st, and 26th among forwards (top 15 among centers, behind some elite names in Forsberg, Thornton, Demitra, Mario, Modano, Sergei Fedorov, Lecavalier, Brad Richards and right behind Mats Sundin).

So yes, while he was underrated, I think he lived up to the billing.  Agreed with the Burrows comparison.
