  1. Random thought: Kadri for Tanev and Sutter?

@NHL'er - Kadri was also playing on an offensive dynamo. His numbers are inflated due to the style of hockey the Maple Leafs played. The vast majority of his offense came while playing with Mitch Marner and Patrick Marleau, as well as significant powerplay time.

There's no reason to believe that he could keep those numbers up while play with people like Baerstchi, Eriksson, or our other stop-gap top 6 players. Sure, you could throw him with Boeser, but then we've traded arguably our best defenceman in order to become a one-line scoring threat and all the sudden we're looking like a shallow version of the Leafs - offensive threat but no defence.

Plus he is 27. So that's heading towards the downward portion of his career. He's older than our existing young core and statistically he'll run out of mileage before we're contenders again.

If you want to trade Tanev and Sutter, it should be for a player 25 or less, or picks.

@Fateless I agree to a degree, but just because he wont have as much production on a Canucks team doesn't de-value him. Plus at 27 he's hitting his prime. Maybe for your reasons about our core and our defence it wouldn't be a good match in our roster, but value wise I'd argue that we would need to add more than Tanev and Sutter to get Kadri. This is where I agree with you, it makes no sense from our point of view but the value of Kadri is high though out the NHL.

I don’t want Kadri anywhere near the Vancouver area code.
