  2. And then again, another stupid move by a stupid organization.
  3. Oh I know. It was also a play on Comfortably Numb. I got ya bud. All good.
  4. Pretty sure my post in reply was gags too. Comfortably Dumb indeed. Well done.
  5. The beginning of the apocalypse when middle aged/old white men rail against Floyd. When will the white straight men on white straight men violence stop??

Hoisted on one’s own petard. This is an example of that.
  7. Agreed. That would have been the reasonable thing to do. Thanks for seeing/stating it reasonably. Cheers.
  8. Do hockey players only get to decide how hockey players behave? Is that the standard of ‘our’ sport? Non-story? This story is blowing up everywhere. Do you only live in your own little bubble?
  9. She’s just someone who shares opinions here. Read this thread from the beginning. It’s literally verbatim with the thoughts of many here. She is just a part of our fans base and society and ‘hockey culture’. ‘We’ need to call this nonsense out always and vociferously.
  10. And on the other side of the argument that apparently a lot of Canucks fans agree with. Which I vehemently oppose.
  11. Just attach the game from YouTube. I know the minutes you’re taking about from your PM. I see there’s no YouTube link yet. Is there a full video from the Canucks site that you can link?
  12. Fair. Can you post a screen grab or a bud that shows what you’re talking about?
  13. I appreciate your expanded thoughts. I agree that people should be free to express themselves with actions or inactions. I also believe that employers and Leagues should be free to enact policy repercussions for failing to meet employment contractual agreements. This is the loophole though right? Freedom of expression gives rights. Freedom of Liberty also gives right. Sometimes they clash. When it come to private business, and someone agrees to terms in that contract, they don’t get the right to do or not do certain things. Think freedom of expression/speech vs. non-disclosure. However, I think this comes down to a lack of legality from the Flyers. They allowed this to happen. It’s on them.
  14. Gracias Amigo! Now I understand what you’re getting at. I think the issue is giving a goaltender the to make a save, cover the puck and then make a play, or choose to end the play. Goalies have to make split second decisions all the time. The rules as they are allows the goalie to assess the play and make a decision. It makes sense that they’re afforded a few seconds to do so. Of course they can use that to their and team’s benefit. Getting rid of that would hamper their ability to play their position. Goalies are a special position on the team. They should be afforded a few seconds to make or stop plays. The rule is a fair rule. It applies to both teams.
  15. It’s a fair comment. I don’t want to cheer for any team or player that’s an opposing player. But, I can resign myself to applauding for a good Canadian kid who is a guest in ‘our’ house. Canadians that reach records in a Canadian ‘house’ deserves a Canadian applause. It’s what we do for each other.
  16. Vancouver fans are educated? I heard a spattering of applause for legends last night that came out for Gino’s memorial. Our fans in the stands, for the most part are corporate guests. The lower bowl people, for the most part, are not the ‘educated’ fans. Look at the upper bowl, for the most part, for the fans that are the people that have been there for decades. BTW, I’m a lower bowl guy. I have money to be down there. But, “I started from the top and now I’m here.” I have my little daughter and I do lower bowl. I have no regrets nor apologies.
  17. Can we not do better in both things? Does one issue make the other issue less important? Thank you for your whataboutism.
  18. Don’t support hockey if you don’t support inclusivity. Hockey is not the hiding place for people’s nonsensical beliefs. Grow up shitheads.
  19. Coquitlam Express to host its first Pride Night. Can it be a catalyst to change hockey culture? Express general manager Tali Campbell says events at the city’s public library last Saturday (Jan. 14), when protesters tried to disrupt a drag queen story time, bolster his belief that the time is right to show hockey can create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all players and spectators. —— But, Campbell said, bringing Pride to the rink is very much about changing hockey and its entrenched "old boys" culture that values machismo and rewards aggression. "It's hard, tough and you can't have feelings, until we have voices changing it," he said —- "We're decades behind in this sport," he said. "It's a big mountain to climb but someone has to start." —- Changing that culture requires a strict adherence to consequences, whether a player who’s stepped over the line is a bench warmer or star scorer. "Everyone is going to be treated the same," Campbell said. Similarly for spectators. —— "We have a duty as a community organization to be that voice for change." "We have to bulldoze those boundaries," he said. "This will be another step to make players feel comfortable, feel they can come out and talk about it." https://www.tricitynews.com/local-sports/coquitlam-express-to-host-its-first-pride-night-can-it-be-a-catalyst-to-change-hockey-culture-6393505 This is how you do it. Also, on 650 he said, “if you don’t like it, don’t come. “ It’s time to change hockey culture and our culture in general. Hockey is about toughness, fairness, accountability, and respect and excellence. We need to be that too. Staying away from inclusivity isn’t the ‘hockey way’.
  20. Dumba acquisition. The Canucks don’t need him. We have enough reclamation projects. Unless he helps the tank.
