Gonna be difficult to lose this one, so all those other Tanking Teams better win. Vancouver's 2nd 1st round pick this year is looking good with NYI pick hovering around 13th to 15th lately. Teams are playing us tougher with Luke out; so time to stiffen up lads and win it in the alley. I hope they play Spinny Binny again, that goof is always fun, and good for lots of goals. GO CANUCKS GO! (But maybe, just maybe, lose by one in regulation?)

[Rumour] Canucks Getting Calls on Luke Schenn

40 posts in, you're tired? Buckle up. -
All these years of wanting Weber and now that we could have had him perhaps, I no longer would want to acquire him. That never-played-for-them-all-Coyotes lineup makes me want to throw up. You might think a marketing genius could get people in the middle of a desert to chill out at the rink. Are you too HOT? Come CHILL at the rink. You gotta fill the barn, even if you have to give the tickets away. Top acts know that you play to the audience at the front of the stage; win them and you get everybody else. GO RABID COYOTES GO! Aaa-Roooo Ra Bid Coyotes! Get some tough guys. Rough it up. Etc.

[Rumour] Canucks Getting Calls on Luke Schenn

Wonder if we could get a decent prospect for Big Luke. He will help any team in the playoffs for sure; he's a warrior and a total class act. -
No offense, I hope, but since when is the AHL safe? In know that the concern is for the health of Thatcher Demko and we all agree on that (I think?). But I doubt management is going to mishandle Demko. Through Thatcher himself, and Ian Clarke, Rick Tocchet, and Patrik Alvin, not to mention the elephant...they are going to do right things by Thatcher Demko.

After the draft lottery, assume we finish with our 5th pick and NYI's 14th. Would you trade them together for the 3rd overall pick?
-
This could be our year to really re-route the good ship Canuck. Perhaps we get both 1st rounders and they both hit, and some of our more expendable players get traded, or off the books... Then work the kinks out next year and draft high again; some lotto luck... 2005 Playoffs Perhaps?? Then contending after that. Mama don't take my Kodachrome away yeah!

JR was determined, from Day One, to undermine Bruce Boudreau imo. Bruce had that team running and Motter was a huge engine 3rd or 4th line, PK, etc. JR & The Hitmen, again imo, and they're doin' a pretty good job; again, imo (i.e. I like a lot of what they've accomplished). But throwing the core of the forward D away for a pick we still haven't used yet? I think JR has connections and history with a Marchand of a lot of the big whales in this league. For good or ill; and I'm on the side of GOOOOD! Now work your magic on the BoG.

To quibble, Tryamkin was not a fighter per se, but he won the fights he deigned to enjoin. And, he was a beast of an 'enjoiner' on the boards; all the old tough guys hated him for his heavy, but clean play. -

I like it; a reverse mold, so to speak, of the rat nose in the plexi, on every Gillis-bended glass, rat nose broken, and bleeding, (cut me off quick before I get ban hammered) -
Our defense is not (quite?) as bad as characterized on here imo. Our goalie will be ok; will probably show quite well; and hopefully Demko doesn't have to come in; there's really no point in that. This is not going to damage Arturs Silovs one bit; and as somebody mentioned, it is a nice chunk of change for the young guy.

1982 Playoff Run recap in 1982 by Sports Page
Goal:thecup replied to Kevin Biestra's topic in Canucks Talk
Thanks. I lived every moment of every day during that run as a rabid fan. No internet or anything like that back then; I would stay up until the midnight edition of the paper came out and then sit at Penny's devouring everything in that issue. Donny on that late night show was a riot! -

Even without the gilt hat, those unis are awful, both home and away. Guy looks like a prospect though; keep beating those bushes PA & Co. -

Didn't the guy above just tell you "Don't stop thinking about the future"? No regretz futz, can't change the past. (Wish I'd learned that earlier; been hang'n onto that Cam to BOS trade for so long...) -

Impatience of the entitled youth on here. Memo: We have a whole 'nother year of transition coming.
