[Proposal] Myers to Montreal for Toffoli
Goal:thecup replied to WEVEGOTMOTTE's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Myers is worth a handful of Tofus. So out to lunch, must be trolling. -
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Truth is, Megna was the best of that weird group Willie iced. Still not good enough for the Nux tho.

Bruce, there it is. The Canucks, riding rejuvenating coaching changes, and whoomp-ing a team like that LA team 4-Zip, are salivating and drooling at the chance to add excommunication to a consecutive suspension to the nostril-licking Bradiot Marshratass by first getting way ahead on the scoreboard before getting under the nasally-overdeveloped cheap shot artist's misspelled-tattooed, snotty and slimy skin. How to best a 4 - nothing shutout game? How 'bout back-to-back suspensions to the worst sportsman in the league? No way the league or the PA could ignore that. Nice clean hard hits by our tall guys; that always causes him to lose his stuff. Marchand has been suspended six times for a total of 19 games, and he's also been fined three times. His longest suspension came in the 2011-12 season, when he low-bridged Sami Salo in the first meeting between the Bruins and Canucks since their high-intensity Stanley Cup Final. Brad is fresh out of jail, and sorry again, but this time it's over, no more mercy for this repeat offender and incorrigible piece of trash (no matter how well he plays the game). Roll the video of him kissing his ring and skating around our ice up on the big screens, followed by videos of his cheap shots, and just generally shame the rat. Canucks lineup: Same great guys with a much improved attitude and a huge 4 nothing win behind them. Bruins lineup: One rat, and 22 guys ashamed to be his teammates; the party's over Brad, Jee-tee eff-oh! Big win here. Cinderella Story. Shake out the last of the old regime's rust and go on a tear. Run up the score and have a blast! Then settle the score. "Psst, hey Brad? "Meet me outside. I've got some of that Champian Marchanding Powder for you..." Schnozz-sized bags cheap." "Team Like That T-Shirts" all sold out. "No Fun To Play Against" swag will be available at the game. (Get there early.) A bit of fun to get started: And I hope we get this official crew: Go Canucks Go! Break some ankles Petey! Let's GO!

Just got up. Left the GDT up on my computer when I went to bed. Can't find it now. Can you help? It was typed into the Reply to this Topic box in the Canucks Talk forum.

Boudreau is providing a necessary (he said something like) restart; and it is more than welcome indeed. It is abundantly clear he was needed at this level and we all, players included, have 'hope', again his word, with his emphasis on effort. This is all good and exactly what we needed, and need, and Go Bouds Go, let's win this thing, I still believe, and more so now, etc. I also believe there is still a lot of work to be done at higher management levels and so far, at least, do not understand why we couldn't have held onto Jim Benning. Pretty sure we could use his great hockey mind going forward, perhaps in a lateral capacity; but I love this group of players (except for toughness - my dinosaur brain) and JB built it. He also navigated stormy waters from Gillis to present day management; no small feat; Luongo pain in the ass punishment, Gillis never ending NMC contracts, Covid, Revenue Collapse, Escrow Clawbacks, Flat Caps, etc. He ate all the schmidt everyone threw at the team for past problems; including the league and refs, still brought and built his contacts and relationships, provided a steady hand, and was a born and bred great judge of emerging talent. Nor sure why he had to go; his players are the ones we are so excited about now that coaches have changed. Especially with no one in hand to do the work that must be done now at that level, and the work advising the minds above. Anyway, back to work everybody! Especially you Frankie & Stan (heaven help us it reminds me of Mutt & Jeff). I truly hope you're just riding out your choices' current contracts, waiting so not tampering, etc. In my opinion, we require stern and professional executive placements with a high degree of integrity and separation from ownership. I do not believe you find these candidates in the old boy's club of the Canuck alumni. And if we could gain any inroads to the Old Boy's Club that runs the NHL, that would be a most welcome development indeed, as well. (Go ahead man, you're a billionaire: Grease some skids. We're gonna need everything to Win The Cup!)

I've got a bit of stuff for Dec 8 vs Boston if you want someone to speak for it.

I haven't listened to it; I'm still back on page 22 or so. 'N' I gotta go curry some veggies. I love Steamer (even back to the NW Bruins days, but he's not much of a talker that I've seen anyway...Now Darcy Rota, "The Mayor"...) That's not really a slag on 'Darce'. I knew him personally, but he made everybody feel like they did. And he was great for us as a player. He Slayed the Dragon of his day for the Canucks: The (spit, spit) Montreal Canadiens. Here's the sports report: MONTREAL -- Darcy Rota scored three goals Thursday night to spark the Vancouver Canucks to a 4-2 triumph over Montreal, snapping the Canadiens' unbeaten streak at 10 games. The loss also halted Montreal's 14-game unbeaten home streak and the victory gave the Canucks their first triumph in nine games. ADVERTISEMENT Rota, who was only playing his second game in two nights since missing seven weeks with an ankle injury, scored on a breakaway just 36 seconds into the game. Montreal, which has 101 points and needed just one more victory to clinch first place in the NHL's Adams Division, tied the score 1-1 at 12:16 on a goal by Larry Robinson. Rota came back with his second goal 41 seconds later, taking a pass from behind the Montreal net and drilling a slapshot past goalie Denis Herron to give the Canucks a 2-1 lead. Tiger Williams' power-play goal at 7:23 of the middle period provided the Canucks with a two-goal edge. Williams grabbed a rebound off Herron's pad and lifted a high shot into the Montreal net. Rota capped his hat trick with his 16th goal of the year at 9:07 of the final period after linemate Thomas Gradin faked Herron out of the net and passed the puck across. Bob Gainey rounded out Montreal's scoring 18 seconds later with his 21st goal. Back in the Coliseum Days: A buddy who also knew Darcy and I started chanting Rota, Rota, Rota from the corner every time he got the puck. It caught on, and later they put up a banner there that said "Rota Rooters". Another one we started back in the day, was: I-Van, H' Link-ah, Link-ah, Link-ah, Link-ah I-Van, H' Link-ah, Link-ah, Link-ah, Link-ah I-Van, H' Link-ah, Link-ah, Link-ah, Link-ah (to the tune of song, can't remember the real one now, lol) He was a force; props to the poster that uses his name. Kinda like a cross between Chara and Jagr.

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Jeez, it's like they can't tell the difference between doing something nice (as Petey has done) and the terrible crap so many others in privileged positions have done. Just bitter, stupid, whiners. We should repost that video of Petey inviting others to donate, and any crappers who dare to post get Ban-Hammered! These tools never post anything of any merit anyways, so why should we have to put up with it? Let's Take Back CDC! Cull all the carpers! Go Donators! Go Canucks! Go away goofs!
