See? There you go again. Right on post but got me laughing again. -
CanuckRookieFan said "Making a few hundred a week; but didn't say how much he was betting/risking? One thing about sports betting that is better than slot machines for example, is that you can use your brain, hopefully in your favour, and hopefully enough in your favour to win more than you lose. Another thing with sports betting is that you have to be correct; many people exclaim about the great odds they're getting, but if your team (for example) does not win, you lose what you put up. Doesn't matter if it was 250 to one, if it doesn't win, you lose. Seems obvious, but some people seem to bet because they get great odds. You have to pick the 'winner' regardless of the odds. It isn't as exciting to bet to collect $12.34 on a $10.00 bet; but if your 'horse' comes in, you get your bet back ($10), and $2.34 you didn't have before. Low pay-out bets can get too low though; you don't want to bet $1,000 on a 'sure thing' that is paying $1,010 to win. You'd lose your grand before you won back ten bucks a hundred times. There can be a lot of ego problems involved as well, e.g. believing you are smarter than house. You can play smarter, if you are very careful, in that the house is taking bets in both directions and off-setting their collections and pay-outs over a wide base. If you see where you think the odds are out of whack compared to your opinion, you may be able to beat the house. This is really just sucking up some of the dumb money bets others have placed; not really beating the house, because the house always wins. You're just trying to shift their pay-outs to you, from the less-informed bettors. Small bets that you can afford (to lose) can add to the enjoyment of sports. Trying to earn money, or get out of debt, or any other way of looking at gambling, without being professional about it, is stupid and dangerous.

Well, I don't know about you, but I put it down to the kind of swagger successful American pro athletes get which differs a bit from the less forthright/more subdued perhaps(?) swagger Canadians get. Huge generalization, I know, but I didn't see it as being an asshole. I think he said what he meant and was quite blunt about it which may grate on some people. I hope he brings his A game from now on, with better results, and helps us win. These are trying times for the entire organization and fan base, and different people will present differently; JT's pretty edgy.

You mean we've done worse than we where we might be after game 10 this season? What was the mark before that one 22 years ago? Holy Crash Test Dummies Batman! Canucks better see the light and end this losing streak right now. We need this Diwali Festival Tonight! Enlightenment! Growth! Big Time Happy Dancing and Singing. Yeah bay-bay! GO CANUCKS GO!

We should have 2 different laughing emojis. One where you're laughing with, and one laughing at. e.g. I gave you a couple laughing emojis because you made me laugh, like with the 'same pen as LE' bit. 2 posts with laughing emojis that I hope you did not take as laughing at you, as the content was very good. -

Go to: 2022-2023 GDT Sign-Up Thread Sign up to do Oct 27/22 game against Seattle. Make sure you tell everybody to only post very bland basic stuff and no pictures or gifs or anything; just 'hockey talk'. You can gauge from this GDT where I asked everybody to quit moaning, whining, and complaining, just about how much success you can expect to achieve.

Its ok James, its ok, hell it's after noon already right here in Pacific Time. Not for me; I'm riding on 2 wagons (Nux bandwagon and the Dry train), doesn't mean I'm not thirsty though. Blue Dream sativa cannabutter may be kick'n in before puck drop. Coconuts Go! (Whatever happened to Goat Canucks Goat? Thought that was a great idea.)
