  1. Yeah, and 2 minutes in penalties.. thinking he got them for diving. Greener wore a purr suit. Torts already killed a Flyer:
  2. Somebody else said that BB was playing lineup and other information pretty close to his vest in practice etc. While his openness was extremely refreshing, perhaps too much gives opponents advantages. I prefer we keep as much internal as possible; and I appreciate them outright lying sometimes lol. Hope Q is just resting up; thought somebody else said he played over 29 minutes last game !?! And then somebody else said Poolman might not be good to go and maybe have bad coconut issues. And somebody else said Stillman might not be good to go; they did stitch him up, not sure if he got hit in the mouth area with a puck, or a stick, or what happened.
  3. Hogz doesn't require waivers; jeez super-short memories around here. I'd 'rather' have Ratherbone in than Juulsen because I don't think Noah can turn properly to one side (think its the right side, but he has to take an extra step and just gets walked). PS Don't tell anyone. Rathbone is going to be an NHL defenseman, if he is not already; get ready to enjoy his game folks!
  4. And that's a good thing; need a whole fleet of NHLers in Abby ready for the attrition that will happen on the way to the playoffs, And, at least One Step Beyond. (Turn your speakers up to "11"!)

  7. We're on a 2 game point streak and the next one's at home. Onward and upward chaps!
  8. Restated, from canucksarmy.com: Playing solid defense on the Right Side in the SHL 22 year old Filip Johansson is chewing up minutes they say, 6 pts in 11 SHL games (+3) and 6 pts in 6 Champion's League games before that. From what we’ve seen so far this season, we project Johansson to be in Abbotsford next season. He does enough things well and shows that his skating is at a high level against his SHL counterparts. The Canucks don’t really have a right-shot finesse defenceman in their system, and it will be interesting to see how he fits in with AHL play next year. There’s been a lot of good so far this season from Johansson.
  9. from ocregister.com: March 12, 2022 Ducks defenseman Andrej Sustr happy to be back. Sustr starts his second stint in Anaheim after being claimed off waivers from Tampa Bay on Tuesday. Defenseman Andrej Sustr, seen with the Tampa Bay Lightning before a game against the Florida Panthers on Oct. 19, 2021, has begun his second stint with the Ducks. (AP Photo/Chris O’Meara) By ELLIOTT TEAFORD | eteaford@scng.com | Orange County Register PUBLISHED: March 12, 2022 at 12:36 p.m. | UPDATED: March 12, 2022 at 5:08 p.m. NEWARK, N.J. — Andrej Sustr was with the Tampa Bay Lightning, preparing to play a game against the Winnipeg Jets, when he got word he had been placed on waivers with the intention of sending him to the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL. Then he got another call and he was on his way to join the Ducks. “It was a pleasant surprise,” Sustr said. The Ducks claimed Sustr, a 31-year-old defenseman, off waivers Tuesday and stuck him in their lineup Thursday. His first game in his second stint with the Ducks went as smoothly as could be expected. He was paired with Cam Fowler and played nearly 19 minutes against Nashville. “I thought he kept his game simple and moved the puck ahead,” Ducks assistant coach Geoff Ward said. “I thought he was good for his first game with us.” By now, Sustr should be accustomed to moving from team to team, meeting new teammates, playing for different coaches and making the best of a new situation. It would be an understatement to say he has been well-traveled since leaving his native Czech Republic as a 17-year-old. Sustr began his career with the Kenai River (Alaska) Brown Bears of the junior-level North American Hockey League. He moved on to the Youngstown (Ohio) Phantoms of the United States Hockey League and then to the University of Nebraska-Omaha. His résumé includes stops with the Lightning and Ducks in the NHL, the Crunch and San Diego Gulls of the AHL and two seasons with Beijing-based Kunlun Red Star of the Kontinental Hockey League. This season, he returned to the NHL, rejoining the Lightning and now the Ducks. “Sometimes playing in North America can get pretty daunting with the business side of it,” Sustr said of his decision to reset his career by playing in the KHL. “Playing over there was more like just playing for fun, you know? I got a different mindset about stuff and I think that helped me get a different perspective on things. I was ready to come back and see if I could make it back to the NHL.” Sustr scored one goal in 15 games with Tampa Bay and had two goals and 10 assists in 25 games with Syracuse this season before the Ducks claimed him, seeking to bolster their defense corps for the season’s stretch run. Sustr was with the Ducks organization in 2018-19. He played for Ducks coach Dallas Eakins when both were in San Diego. “The whole season, I’ve been kind of up and down, taking it day by day, living out of a suitcase,” Sustr said. “I was ready to go back to Syracuse. When Anaheim called, it was a pleasant surprise. Someone saw value in me coming to play. It’s a huge compliment to me. I’m grateful for the opportunity and to see what I can do with it.”
  10. Kuzmenko may be difficult to re-sign if he continues to show value; much as I like the fit, he only signed for a year and you have to give to get.
  11. And we're in a 6-way tie for 27th in the league and a 5-way for 12th in our conference; and movin' on up too; got points in last 2 games..
  12. I wonder if veteran RD could be acquired from the KHL? I imagine it might be a pretty tricky exercise given the invasion of Ukraine. If such a player could be acquired, he may come in as a second-pairing RD with pro experience, even maybe playoffs. And we wouldn't have to give up our NHL and farm assets or picks.
  13. I still think its the flu, plus what you are saying above; JT is a character guy and would not pull any bs, he may have celebrated a bit too much before camp, or be getting over something; also he is trying to do too much and stays out too long desperate to help the team. I liked him instigating that fight to try to get himself going; and start leading by example again. No way he signed his contract just for the money. If JT is healthy, I predict he will explode on home ice. He's got all this built up pressure man, Steam Roller Time! I would be surprised to see them go 5-1-1 of course, but not surprised to see them start winning half or more of their games. Back home they can go to their own shacks and management can assess everything, have already started this morning. Don't touch that 4th line! I'd like a look at a Mickey, Petey, Podzilla first line too, if I'm allowed any input. Really looking forward to tomorrow's game (7pm).
  14. No, you're not. We didn't blow another 2 goal lead, but we blew a 1 goal lead twice lol. Lots to like on our team, although they play like it's a game of Pick Up Sticks. I think Bruce himself, and some of the players, at different times, have had to deal with a flu or some suchlike. And the ensuing madness of chaotic events piling up on the road.. and losing again and again. Yet they still played very well that last game, and they did rack up another point. Like you said, very entertaining game, and the 4th line had a great game. (Does PA & His Large Band get any credit for Nils Aman?)
