  1. I'd rather keep Burroughs than Bear for his physicality, and even then he would 4RD, not 4th highest defenceman. I would offer Bear league minimum (does he have a QO requirement?) for one year as depth. I like Bear but... I wouldn't offer more $ or term or clauses. We have a number of RFAs and UFAs which we should consider losing; we can always pick up league minimum fillers later. I'd stock up Abby defencemen for injury fill-in and playoffs, but we may not even make the playoffs next year. We have to let some players go; maybe for less than they seem to be worth. Fill in from the top and push current placeholders down the roster. Can't be worried about cannon fodder.
  2. Did you miss the discussion which concluded that we were right to acquire a needed RHD while we had the chance. We've been waiting and waiting for a good young RHD, the Islanders pick was not necessarily a 2023 1st, etc.
  3. We do not have to be a complete team this year; and maybe not even next. Please report on needs and solutions after TDL 2024. This is also not a rose-coloured etc; it is proper development and cap management. e.g. JR said we were not going to give away assets to make moves this year.
  4. It is not about proving anything. It is about development, prospects, players, coaches, and systems. I agree that Q is getting too many minutes and believe this will change.
  5. This is not short term gratification. This is player and team (and coaching) development. And is at least as important as anything in achieving long term goals.
  6. The draft is just part of 'the way' to build a winning team. Even with 'perfect' drafting, development is probably more important. Tocchet is coaching to improve the team, not kill the so-called tank.
  7. And if wishes were horses, beggars would ride. Shutting pro athletes down can be a direct correlation with reduced future earnings potential. We still have a high draft pick this year with an, albeit slim, chance at 1st or 2nd overall. I'm lovin' seeing the team happy and celebrating and could give a crap about something out of our control. Do tankers attend games? (And, why would they?) There sure were a lot of happy people there last night. Did you see the kids there? Happy families enjoying themselves. They are all Canucks too.
  8. Right. And that is why it is still 'unfinished business'. The impatience of these whiners is exhausting. We're not there yet Kids. Sit in the back and keep quiet or we'll stop the car tank car.
  9. Please tell that to the whining 'tankers'. Take the day off Debbys.
  10. Ok thanks; I'm getting on it right now. Won't change what I think of that poster's crap though. I'm sick and tired of all that useless whining about WINNING A GAME.
  11. FO WITH YOUR CAPS And with this kind of stupid-ass post.
  12. Wouldn't be another CDC season without yet another repetitive post like this.
  13. Yup. But its nice to see everyone respecting the physical side of the game again. And no, Schenn wasn't the answer anymore; we sold at the right time. Wherever they are, we have to keep supporting and building our tougher young men.
