Don’t forget Jasek and Bailey, and maybe Lockwood.

The AHL is a professional league and Juolevi has had two seasons to prove himself. So far he has managed to prove that he is hurt a lot. That said, I’d love to see him play healthy - as he did in a solid season in the pro league in Finland, and in a solid world junior cup. But realistically, three or four prospects have moved ahead of him in my mind: Tryamkin, Rafferty, Rathbone, and Brisebois. I call Tryamkin a prospect because he hasn’t played for the Canucks for three years, but he played at a high level of pro comparable favourably with the AHL. Ideally, healthy, I still see Juolevi as a middle tier defender - if he can get fit.

He already played well in the NHL as a rookie from another country and having to make both hockey and personal adjustments - doesn’t that prove that he can play in the NHL, especially when you admit yourself that playing in the KHL has made him better? I can think of two current Canuck defencemen that he is already better than. That said, 1.5 to 2.2 is probably about right. Why? The league has changed to much more focus on mobility and skill on defence. I have full confidence in his defensive game, but I’d need to see a decent transition game.

Tired of the lockdown, yet? https://marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2020/04/lockdown-socialism-will-collapse.html?fbclid=IwAR1CCIAZby-8IMBtmugfdey8K8ItyjCKorxp9NQUiHrIef58E9ILDDVeAQ8 Interestingly, a couple of countries that did not shut down their economies had virtually the same results with the virus as the Countries that did... but they still have economies - case in point Sweden: https://www.timesofisrael.com/the-end-of-exponential-growth-the-decline-in-the-spread-of-coronavirus/ Conclude from that what you will. Also, a study has been done the indicates the virus is 50 to 85 times more widespread than previously thought, which if true, means the virus is far less lethal than believed for most people - it would significantly increase the denominator in the equation ... deaths/cases, It might count for a herd immunity effect resulting in the very low numbers in California: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/17/antibody-study-suggests-coronavirus-is-far-more-widespread-than-previously-thought

There is a good reason for the distance rule, when a couple moves together in a tight space it is hard for others to move around, it’s just common courtesy, make it easier for people to move around, there are people waiting outside and it is also a courtesy to them that we conduct our business in the least time reasonably possible. As stated above, a little courtesy and reasonableness goes a long way.

Stop with the CCP propaganda already. The most affected states with the worst Wuhan virus problem have no incentive to minimize numbers, most of which are Democrat and have three huge reasons to maximize numbers - more money from the federal government, more resources from the federal government, and it would embarrass a Trump, the primary wet dream of all Democrats.
-
They just increased the death toll by 50% in a single day, but my guess is that that is not even remotely close. I think that it is important to specify that this is not ‘Chinese’, this is on the head of the CCP and its leaders. The greatest fear of that party is that its own people find out the communist party’s culpability. It reminds of Chernobyl, does it not. Viewing that series is most revealing of the psychology is the disease that is communism - the society that cannot allow freedom of speech, nor even of thought.
-
There is a much simpler explanation. Taiwan keeps a close watch on communist China and does not trust them as far as it could throw them. So does South Korea. When you live next to the troll under the bridge, it is a good idea to know what it is up to. Our prime minister views communist China as his favourite form of that he admires, something to reflect on in this nation’s shutdown and why it happened: https://torontosun.com/2013/11/08/trudeau-admires-chinas-basic-dictatorship/wcm/72d62ec4-e0f4-4720-bb18-d998f445630c

Up till the point Teves got hurt this year in Utica, he was the best defensive D there. Not the same guy afterward, maybe lingering effects of the injury. Coming season, though, and a chance to heal and train may see his game return.

It could be tough to make Utika this fall if there is no player movement up or out: Brisebois Rafferty Juolevi. Chatfield Teves. Sautner Eliot All Canuck prospects! and all pretty good. Usually AHL defences have three or four older AHL club signees on the D. We played most of the year with Canuck signees, on occasion with one or two Utica signees. Woo may have to start in the ECHL, just as MacEneny and Eliot did. Though Imwould not be surprised to see Rafferty move up if Tanev does not re-sign or if Stetcher is moved. Though, if Tryamkin is signed (Tryamkin can play either side) that might be another block in the way of upward movement. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see a substantially different D in Vancouver this fall.

Hey, I really like Lind, but there are another couple of guys that might get the call before him - Bailey if we need a winger, and Jasek if we need a guy who can play centre or wing - Jasek is not the offensive threat that Lind is, but he is a strong two-way player. Jasek, of course, is a converted winger (out of necessity because of our shortage of AHL eligible centre prospects - or maybe it is also to make him more useful as a utility player (like Motte, that can play centre or either wing). It should be noted that Lind, a natural winger, was tasked with taking a lot of key face offs in both zones. He may also be being groomed to have broad skills to give him a leg up in moving up. This was also done with MacEwan, who played both wing and centre in junior. This might have been because Utica had a shortage of centre prospects, or a deliberate strategy to broaden the skill level of prospects. I could see a Lind making the move to the middle - he is good defensively, very good on face offs, and an excellent playmaker who plays well with other offensively talented players.

Skating and defensive commitment have always been the knocks on Boucher (as well as conditioning and fitness). Fitness no longer seems to be an issue. His skating is much improved (is it NHL caliber? Don’t know). Defensively, he has been good this year, even serving on the PK - where he has been an offensive threat for the opposition to worry about as well as taking care to take away opposition opportunities - he has great anticipation - filling passing lanes, knocking down passes, and transitioning at the first opportunity.
-
And the square root of that is eight something.
-
It’s possible that Tanev won’t be back, but depending on how the NHL sets up its cap, he might be.

Nik should wear 6’7”.

I think whatever number a Podkolzin wears, he will make that number his number.

Because the Chinese communist government lied and dissembled. Five million people fled China before we knew that the virus could spread human to human. The initial reports from China denied this. They hid the fact that it was even happening until the virus was already out. They could have prevented people from taking flight out of China, they could have prevented people with a temperature from boarding a plane - even that would have helped. Instead they did what totalitarian regimes do, they read the Chernobyl playbook and put it into action. Anyone who believes the official reports coming out of China now, in my opinion, is seriously deluded. The Chinese were on a mission to lead the world in viral research. To that end they sent a research team into bat caves 900 km from Wuhan. The team spent five days in bat filled caves amongst the guano, the bat ticks, and so on collecting samples. The samples were returned to the level four research lab in Wuhan - 900 metres from the wet market across the street from an old age home. Researchers at the lab had been working on viral RNA - the story of their work is a matter of international record.

Total BS debunked by Ezra Levant today in his broadcast, would be actress that has other histrionic videos, one made previously, mocking precautions taken against covid 19. That CBS did not debunk it themselves says a lot about the quality of their reporting and perhaps their motives.

Not enough time yet to know how many people will recover and most people who get the virus only show nominal symptoms and we only know about them and that they have the virus if they get sick enough to get tested. You can’t count the ones you did get the chance to count. Ultimately, as we get enough rapid result tests out there and people actually pursue a test, we will.

Just to inform that I am talking about the quoted article - just to be clear. Jeez does this writer writer even watch hockey games? Tryamkin’s time in Vancouver was not a ‘struggle’ - he was a rookie, and for a rookie defenceman, he played well. The guy who struggled was his coach, Desjardins... oh yeah, he got fired.
-
Gadjovich also came along a lot this year, and then there is McDonough...

Have you watched Bailey in Utica? I have all year - he shifted gears about twelve games in and hasn’t relented since. He is just too big, too fast, too strong and too skilled for the AHL. He skates far better than Grenier ever did - he is one of if not the fastest guy in the AHL - and is much better with the puck - especiallympuck protection Most goals Grenier ever had in a single season in the AHL was 20, he did that once. He was usually a sixteen/seventeen goal guy. Bailey has 28 goals in a partial season and in most of his goals he did most of the work - in a full season that is twice Grenier’s production and Grenier was usually a minus player, lost in his own zone - play in his own zone has not been a problem for Bailey.

Virtanen? You don’t give up 225 pound, 23 year old, defensively reliable, wingers who can play either side that can hit, skate and shoot like Virtanen. If you have Toffoli, Miller (who is also a centre), Boeser, in your top six and and a not really top six collection of Pearson, Roussel, Ferland (if he can ever get over being concussed), and Leivo - and you come up with MacEwen.. you don’t get rid of the 23 year old - you get rid of the old farts. You get rid of any or all of Eriksson, Sutter, Beagle, Roussel, Ferland (if you can), Leivo, and even Pearson. When you get Podkolzin and Hoglander you may have the depth to start them down the lineup or Jake becomes a 24 year old (that you teach to be apenalty killing winger that brings a big body and speed). But then you might have to find a place for Bailey cuz he has the look of a big guy that just found his game...
