  1. It is still a mystery for me. The team got rid of the contracts of Erickson, Beagle and Rousell. They walked away from expensive contract extensions for the likes of Tanev, Markstrom, Edler, etc... Yet the team is still having salary cap problem I agree with what some analysts said. Cap problem should be only for contenders and playoff teams!
  2. If the QO means 7.5M and the Canucks will offer it, then why are there so many discussions about Boeser accepting a 5.5M contract in this thread?
  3. Sorry, I still don't understand the situation here. From what I searched from google: "If a team does not send a qualifying offer to their RFA they become an unrestricted free agent (UFA) on July 1. " That means the Canucks either offer him 7.5M, or let him walk as UFA. So how would Boeser take a lowball contract discussed in this thread, if he could explore more as a UFA?
  4. Yet the team is still finding a way to trade him this season.
  5. Of course you need some sweeteners to make it work: Canucks acquire: 2022 7th round pick Coyoted acquire: J. Halak 2022 5th round pick 2023 2nd round pick
  6. It is only valid if Boeser were traded this season. However, It sounds like there is no rush for the new Canucks management to trade him now.
  7. I was reviewing the Boeser Signing thread. Funny that most people liked the deal, and now the 3rd year, 7.5 mil term is now creating headache for the management.
  8. I really dont think there are too many teams in the market wanting to give up assets to acquire him, and sign him a Qualifying Offer during the off-season.
  9. Kind of feels like agents and analysts overuse the terms of "new start", "fresh start", "change of scenary" as parts of their analysis...
  10. I believe trying to get rid of the contracts of Hamonic, Dickinson, Halak, Poolman, etc should not be indicators of "giving up". I would also say trading away the contracts of Pearson and Myers are not indicators of "giving up" too, even they had their runs during this season.

  12. I think it's better for the OP to edit the topic to make the details of the deal more specific. It's been 10 pages already, and there are 2 replies per page mentioning "the 3rd is like a late 2nd"
  13. The Canucks got an extra 3rd, but what's the cost? Schmidt and Hamonic combined for 1.5 bad seasons compared to what they were capable of. And due to their cap-hits, it could lead to the fact that the Canucks let a few free agents walked away.
  14. To Vancouver: 2022 7th round pick To Arizona: J. Halak (if he waives the NMC) 2022 2nd round pick 2022 5th round pick
  15. Sorry for re-using this thread, but what a big difference a few months could make.
  16. That's not a rebuild. No teams would trade away two 1st round picks during a rebuild.
  17. Just checked the Wikipedia... He's born in the U.S. He's raised in the U.S. He got his education in the U.S. He learned his hockey in the U.S. And I am not sure, but maybe his mom is from the U.S too. I believe he has a lot more reasons to represent the U.S.
  18. You realized that Pearson was the one getting the EN goal just because Dickenson was out of the line-up?
  19. Ranked 5th for fewest goals allowed at even strength, but the team is still second last in the division. No wonder the PK is a disaster.
  20. I actually wondered if Bruce would play Demko back-to-back, given the players just had a super long break.
