  1. Canucks playing scared to lose a bit. Our breakouts have time and space but the defense are panicking a bit.
  2. The boys need to get back to being aggressive defensively anyways. Might be good for us haha
  3. I'd call a time out if I'm coach. The boys for the first time aren't supporting defensively properly. Need to settle them down.
  4. It was a good play. Gave Demko a chance to make the save which is all you ask your defender to do on an odd man rush.
  5. Ah damn Demko read that so well and didn't close his hole! He wasn't that one back. Gave him nothing to shoot at except for the 5 hole.
  6. I beg to differ. I think short term you're right, but there were so many fundamentally flawed issues with this team that whether or not their execution was good or bad, they'd still lose majority of their games just with the style that they played. But I definitely see your point. I just don't think that if our special teams improved that we'd be competitive.
  7. It's like the people who look at shot totals and assume the team with the most shots is automatically the best team that game. It's so annoying.
  8. Alright, I have an interesting take on something... Was Green low key an absolute genius?! Hear me out, because I know this statement sounds moronic. What if... he wasn't trying to be the coach of today, but the coach that helped lead the Canucks to success in the future... Just think about it... By employing the worst defensive system imaginable he created a "supergoalie" in Demko. He's been training him in every single scoring scenario for years knowing that the coach that is his successor will actually have a real defensive structure. But by the time the Canucks are contenders Demko will have some insane super ability to make saves look easy because all he did was face shots during his tenure with Green as his coach. The normal scoring chances look like a piece of cake and the ones deemed impossible by most goalies are now possible due to all of that game time training! Could Green have been the hero to this story??? (this post is in no way serious, Green absolutely sucked as a coach)
  9. On a recent podcast from Canucks central they talked about how 2 on 1's are three times more likely to score if a pass is involved than shot by the original carrier. Real interesting stat. I kind of wonder if that only counts for shots on net though or if that includes all of the failed passes.
