  1. According to the rulebook apparently it only applies to masks and the blo kdd and trapper are up to the refs discretion based on how the equipment came off.
  2. We're still continuing to pass across ice high in the zone. They're looking for that play all night. Need to smarten up.
  3. I'm not arguing they made the wrong call. They made the right call. I'm saying you're still allowed to make contact with the goalie under certain circumstances, which you claimed was wrong. They absolutely made the right call, but if Demko had zero chance to make the save (in this case he had a chance), then the goalie interference wouldn't have mattered, which is why Winnepeg was upset with the decision because they felt whether there was contact or not it was going to be a goal.
  4. Rule 69 – Interference on the Goalkeeper 69.1 Interference on the Goalkeeper - This rule is based on the premise that an attacking player’s position, whether inside or outside the crease, should not, by itself, determine whether a goal should be allowed or disallowed. In other words, goals scored while attacking players are standing in the crease may, in appropriate circumstances be allowed. Goals should be disallowed only if: (1) an attacking player, either by his positioning or by contact, impairs the goalkeeper’s ability to move freely within his crease or defend his goal; or (2) an attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a goalkeeper, inside or outside of his goal crease. Incidental contact with a goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed, when such contact is initiated outside of the goal crease, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact. The rule will be enforced exclusively in accordance with the on-ice judgement of the Referee(s), but may be subject to a Coach’s Challenge (see Rule 38).
  5. He didn't really cut through the crease though I don't think. The contact was made just outside if I'm not mistaken. Demko's body was in the crease but his left skate wasn't in attempt to take away the pass.
  6. We have to play below the goal line against the Jets. They like to run 3 high in their own end and have been cheating the zone all game. We need to out man them down low.
  7. Because Demko flared out into him to make the save. It's incidental contact because he had no time to react to Demko shooting his leg out at him.
  8. Except it is how it works when reviewing contract with the goaltender on goals. You can make contact with the goaltender. If it's strong enough contact to warrant an interference penalty then you're right, but that wasn't enough to call a penalty. In cases of incidental contact or if a goalie initiates contact, then they determine if the goalie is afforded the opportunity to make the save.
  9. He's looked extremely lazy tonight defensively. It's been a while since we've seen this bad an effort from him. He's gonna score 2 in the third period now.
  10. I get why Winnepeg is angry. Demko likely wasn't gonna be able to make the save either way as he needed to square up and still sprawl out to get back even close to being in position but at the end of the day you can't say for sure, so it was a good call.
