I'm overly critical of Podkolzin, but even so I cannot reasonably take him out of the lineup over some other players.
Has his execution been good? Absolutely not. But the kid has been trying to make plays and that is a step above many other of our bottom 6 players. His execution can improve when given ice time, similar with how we are playing Rathbone. You have to give rookies like those the opportunity to iron out some things.
His last game was his best game, and sure he had an awful turnover but I also feel like he made up for it with some of his other plays.
He lacks the execution and some iq things, but you're not gonna get him to improve as a player by keeping him out of the lineup. Especially over vets that don't have any intangibles that you need to keep like say in a Motte type player.
Stupid decision.
Not surprised though, Green can't put together a lineup to save his life.
