No offensive pressure. Defense and forwards are so spread out. So easy to breakout for Washington. -

Early in the season we were. We can be fast but we don't utilize it. -

We are screwed for sure. Only thing that could be worse is if they put in a rookie who has yet to score their first goal, a slumping player desperately in need of getting going and their backup goaltender. -

You're telling me you can't work on practice of actually moving your skates? If that's on the players then don't play them on the powerplay. -

The funny thing is that McDavid can look awful on the powerplay with Drai as well. The key with them too is coaching. With McLellan they sucked as well. Tippett has them moving extremely well and utilizing their speed and skill. Their powerplay is miles ahead of ours, contrary to what stats will lead you to believe. -

The reason why the PP worked last night is because our structure capitalizes on the other team moving for no reason. Our players don't move and pull them out of position, they pulled themselves out. Teams that just sit there and cover lanes kill our powerplay. Like John Garrett said during the broadcast, they were sending 3 guys chasing the puck on the pk the whole game. It was pathetic. A good powerplay moves their skaters to open up lanes on a consistent basis. Our powerplay doesn't do this. We use elite players like the Sedins, Pettersson and Hughes to do the movement while everybody else stands around. Without the Sedins, Hughes or Petey on their game and/or given time/space, the powerplay has never flourished. It's a simple iq flaw and structures thing. That's why we kill teams like Detroit and Nashville on the powerplay, because their systems suck even harder than ours. -

Edler had a good game defensively. Man it feels so good to say that again. I give him a B+ for last night's game. I'll take that. Only a few minor mistakes but overall I had him making more positive plays than negative ones last night. We need him to do this on a consistent basis now and return to early season form. Markstrom stole us 2 points in my opinion again tonight. An absolute brick wall back there, we had no business winning this game. Thank God Newell Brown knows how to wreck failing penalty killing. And mediocre and good penalty killing results in absolutely nothing but he absolutely thrives on poor coaching. Overall not a great game. I thought Boeser, Petey, Hughes and Miller played great games. I thought Horvat should stay the hell away from playing the point on the powerplay. Looks stationary up top and that's when we don't score on the PP. Good thing he wasn't there the entire night and didn't actually affect some of the nice plays by our top guys. Both teams looked bad tonight. -

This team needs a Luke Schenn or an Alex Biega on defense. -

Oh definitely the goaltenders fault. He needs to be better at handling all of those close net one timers and in the slot plays. Buddy needs to go back to the AHL to work on his go-go-gadget arms and legs and come back up when he's ready. -

This team needs a guy like Graovac in the lineup and to play him more than 2 minutes. There's so many non-game changers in this lineup when the team is struggling. We have 3 players that can turn the game around but the only problem is Green never utilizes them and puts them into situations that'll help the team. The fact that Eriksson is still in the lineup is a &^@#ing joke. Especially in the style this team is playing. Bring up somebody who will instigate and get the team involved again. Daft coaching. -

Edler actually wasn't a detriment defensively tonight. Until the second period came around. Why can't a guy getting paid that much have even a mediocre game? I'm literally calling a good pass, a hit, a good defensive play a +1 and a defensive lapse a -1 and he's always in the negative. He had two nice plays today and he was still a - 4 in my books. 6th goal he was busy watching Horvat and just allowed a breakaway goal. So absolutely mind numbing laziness. -

Nobody did, however if you watch the game, you know most hockey players are absolute warriors. There's a precedence in place to blow the call down for a reason. Most players when they're injured in the NHL will try to play through it. He even tried getting up and continuing in the play but obviously the injury was too much. That alone shouldn't have happened. He should have stayed down. At the end of the day it's great to see players be warriors but these guys have families and lives after the game is over. I've seen first hand what concussions can do to people for years after they're done playing. It's not worth it. -
Yeah but I think we knew AV was a great regular season coach, but a terrible playoff coach. Had great systems and had the team playing phenomenal, but once his book was out he never could adapt, which is why he struggled in a playoff like setting. His stars carried him through series. AV I did take for granted though but I thought for sure we needed to change him out with a better coach if we were going to contend for the cup.

I agree they look amazing but something looks off with them. Like the yellow on the numbers and name plates is slight off or it's too glossy or the white bordering isn't as thick. Can't put my thumb on it.

Because of compounding injuries. Concussions amplify based on activity. Forcing somebody to stay in a play when they're concussed is a stupid decision. Wake up, this isn't 1980 where we have no information on concussions and how they impact the brain.
