  1. Rathbone's issue is he feels he has to skate it out but when that option isn't available he just pivots back into his own zone and often ruins the breakout. If he can figure out when to pass it out of the zone he can be very effective but that's as biggest downfall.
  2. Yep! His best coaching decision yet. Should have been obvious, he's so smart defensively. Blows me away people don't see his IQ defensively. If he was good at faceoffs he would get selke votes.
  3. Pretty much! Every time it's like they have to do the drop pass and if the other team is leaning drop pass then it throws everything out if wack and they can't compute what they need to do. The hilarious part is that means it should be a very easy entry because now there's all that open room to enter on the line now.
  4. Blows me away at how difficult this team finds entries on powerplays to be. Just create a checklist. 1)come in with speed 2)if they're standing up the line chip and retrieve 3)if not standing up at the line, skate it in 4) success.
  5. Good to see Myers jump up the ice and what an entry pass by Hoagie to gain the zone. Also go change Myers holy moly.
  6. We had the opportunity with the Viking clap and we totally botched it hard. The one thing semi original to honour the Sedins and we blew it.
  7. Honestly I'd love to do commentary and even though I have a voice for radio it's more of that soothing radio. I'd put people to sleep. I suppose I could do colour but I'm settled in life with the family so the wife wouldn't appreciate me being gone. Already left for milk and cigarettes once and that excuse did not fly!
  8. Also from last game, I'm really really happy the crowd boo'd sweet Caroline. That song is so overplayed and needs to be shut down asap. I hate hearing that piece of trash and same with Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer. Both of those songs need to die at sports games.
  9. Also Hoglander looks great as expected. Made a couple really nice passes but his forwards gave away their scoring opportunities for the extra pass.
  10. Also been watching Demko tonight, again, not looking sharp. Playing deep, looks hesitant and has been out of position a couple times. Also poor rebound control. Just does not look confident at all. Hopefully he dials it in but if he follows what he's done every other game he hasn't turned it around mid game yet. Also one thing I'm really surprised with him is how slow his reads are. He's usually really smart with his reads but this season he is really slow to predict the play. It's almost as if he's hyper focused on the puck and is overthinking everything. Could be recognizing himself being out of position and is double thinking it which is causing him to not be checking his surroundings enough.
  11. Honestly, the Canucks look pretty awful but I'm glad we are tied. Our defense looks absolutely terrified to get involved up ice and we are only forechecking on half the shifts. If we are gonna win we really need to stop playing timid. Carolina is off tonight as well and they are playing down to us so if we can surprise them by turning it around we have a chance. Also Bo needs to be removed from the pk desperately. He's single handedly screwing his other forward by not supporting his aggression on the pk and as a result was the guy who allowed the cross ice pass to get through because of his passivity. I encourage everybody to watch him on the pk. He shells up while the other forward attacks and allows the other team loads of passing options.
  12. Wow they finally changed the lines for practice! No Boeser oddly enough.
  13. He didn't coach scared. I think now that his job is on the line he's overly reliant on the guys he feels that can get him there. He feels if he can just get Miller or Bo or Petey or Boeser going the ship will drive itself but meanwhile you have guys like Garland, Petey, Hogz doing a lot of legwork but not even earning top minutes. You had a 4th line who was unbelievable and was carrying the team not even see the final 7 and a half minutes left in the game. Miller is always the top ice time getter for the forward group and you can't keep throwing crap at the fan and hoping something amazing comes out of it. You play what's going well and you bank on that. Take the things that are successful and amplify them. Don't scratch them. He is the most stubborn coach I've seen in a long time. Just not adapting at all to what is in front of him. After this past game he wonders how his team goes out and shows no effort in the third period and refuses to acknowledge that he kept throwing out Miller in the third period. If you see guys don't care then why are you rewarding them? It's absolutely moronic. Miller played 8 minutes in the third period. That's nearly half the period, and then he has the gall to wonder how he shot himself in the foot?!
