  1. Don't pages discussion the weights of Jake and EP40 exceed 731 pages each?
  2. So I guess the strip clubs are still open in your town.......(starts rumour, sees it on TSN in 30 minutes).....
  3. From what I understand, it is exponential so if you get to 10% you will be at herd quite soon. They have a FAR ways to go numerically but not time wise. At 10% and the number of current cases, they project to get herd probably before end of March or April depending upon which on-line model you use. Either way, it sure is moving quickly there.
  4. They must be getting closer to herd immunity at some point. Getting into pretty significant % of population. This COVID, much like the common cold (another COVID virus), will get to everyone eventually and key is to get those vaccines to those who are having the worst reactions....and get it done. Seems there in Canada you guys are going very slowly.
  5. Harmon's Russian perhaps but why care about it? Does it make him a different hockey player? He is what he is. Sorry I even mentioned it as clearly a few of you are fixated with this. I'm out and you can debate on and wait for the Canuck roster listing next season and then argue they got it wrong too I guess. PS - how much does Jake weigh? What about EP40?
  6. Perhaps believe the guys who measured him? LOL. I simply don't understand why it would lead to any debate though. He is what he is. /story. Why all the fuss? I guess I am adding to it but I know how tall he is (saw the notes from the combine - they don't make mistakes) and have seen him on the ice standing beside other players I also know the height of. He has a bent over playing style - not sure if that is what people refer to. Grab some tape of any game end of a Russian game where they stand on blue line and you can see it there. If it really matters that much to anyone.
  7. Hockey is a big deal (certainly has been to my life) but some things are simply bigger. Precautions being taken are to be applauded.
  8. No one is gloating. Have been high on this kid a long time before Canucks drafted him and still am very high on him. Injuries are part of professional sport. Go and do as you please with anything including my old posts. I have no idea what you are whining about with regard to Russia game. My timezone doesn't always mesh with where you likely are so ever think I simply logged off? I still have not a clue what thread or item you mention but if we crossed paths on another thread and you were an equally obtuse wambulence type, I probably engaged. Cheers
  9. PS - thanks, good to be back and I see that CDC has not changed much....which is nice!
  10. I know people in the KHL and know the testing results and know he is 6'4" just prior to WJC and was 6'3.5" in August. These are measurement facts. Missed all the previous drama but that is what he is. Not sure why a need to debate it.....unless you are a tall woman wanting to date him. He is the height he is - why any debate?
  11. He is 6'4". I know this for a fact. Cheers.
  12. The kid has 2" of worms in him? Better get him to NA soon. I know some of the guys don't do well on the food in the KHL but worms.......
  13. Two weeks to go to the 25th....you better tell Green to get him that ticket to New York State as currently I think he has other plans for a now healthy OJ. Perhaps Green is blinded by his "rage tears" however.
  14. Ya, not bad for a guy that can't skate, turn or pass.
  15. Green was not going to cut anyone on the bubble who had a strong defensive game as easily as someone who put up points but played like crap in their own end. Offense gets you drafted or signed and to the camp but in the end, if you cannot play the entire ice surface you don't make the bigs. You could clearly see lots of the younger players (and even the vets on the bubble) backchecking like it was key to them having jobs (and it likely was). Oh, and for anyone still wondering, OJ is a stud.
  16. It seems impossible to read any thread right now without Jake Virtanen being mentioned (usually negatively) - whether about a roster player, prospect or even the US economic system.   Poor kid scored 18 goals with still limited minutes in a shortened season with great underlying numbers and comes to camp in great shape this time around and yet still gets same old BS.   What is it with people and this kid?   Why all the hate?

Hey RZ, hope you're well in 2021.

If you go back over our 5 decades, don't really remember a highly-touted youth coming from The Lower Rainland. That's probably a big factor.

Then Cdn rivals(WIN & TO) take highly regarded fwds afterwards.

Also factor in Jake showing flashes with The Hitmen, & the expected trolling emanating from them parts.

Finally, it was JB's(ballyhooed drafting forte) first kick at the can. So lots more trolling came from rival regions on that basis.

For so many reasons, I'd warrant Canucklehead-hearts are heavily mortgaged. Yet this is nicely eased, as so many of our other prospect-projects have jumped in value/equity.

    2. Brad Marchand

      Brad Marchand

Sometimes you wonder if the entire team is Jake Virtanen given how often he's brought up.

Maybe if the team was nothing but Jake Virtanens, at least one of those Virtanens would have a good game and people would ease up on him.

some fans need to dump on someone. sometime in the future if petey has an off year, some will dump on him.

if some people have no one to dump on, they won’t be happy fans. weird.

  17. You took 2 inches off of Podkolzin - he is a legit 6'4" and, apparently, not quite finished growing as he was 6'3.5 in August.
  18. LOL. Best quote of my return so far. Do you work hard at this stuff or does it come naturally. Comedic genius is not something to take lightly either way.
  19. If Podkolzin had some finish with him, he would likely have had about 10 or more assists in the tournament. Time after time he put perfect passes to players with either a gaping net or the next best thing to that and whiffs were in the air. Comparing notes with a few people who follow this kid more closely than I do feel that if put on a line with NHL calibre players he will emerge nicely as getting enough offence to stick in a top six but will also bring a tenacity that creates lots of space for even more success for those who are less "physical". Lots to like about this prospect.
  20. Elite athletes being asked such questions by a couch potato reporting.
