  1. While I agree, theoretically you had someone in your stable you saw something and you probably want to keep everyone but, face it, you are not losing a core piece to waivers so the sleep you may lose is not likely sleep you really needed.
  2. Yup, and I am certain he was the missing piece to a parade. I appreciate you making my point!
  3. Either "The Things I've Seen" or "Dark Trip". Love listening and playing both.
  4. There is a 59.3% probability that 1/2 of your ppg numbers are 2/3 of their projection value minus 4/7th of the Kole Lind's numbers which leads one to conclude he will score somewhere between 0 and 99 goals in his rookie season in the NHL.
  5. Ah, that makes sense. Cheers!
  6. I don't ever think that actually. Ever. If you were interesting in what was quoted, why didn't you address that source versus commenting on my post? I cannot guess what is in your humourless mind. Cheers
  7. Do you own a sense of humour? Do you remember that being used as a term? It was a joke - try it sometime. It can make you enjoy things!
  8. Sounds like the definition of a foundational player.
  9. It will be interesting to see how he translates to the NHL but I can only imagine the kind of numbers he would have put up in the CHL this year watching him play.
  10. There are a lot of light elite players in NHL right now doing fine. Why will he be the exception? Those were not plyons in the SEL he was playing against.
  11. No idea if Adam Gaudette will win the HBaker or not but since they went to a slightly different system (seem to look at professional potential as much as college exploits) as of the 2013 vote, the past four winners have been: 2017 - Will Butcher 2016 - Jimmy Vesey 2015 - Jack Eichel 2014 - Johnny Gaudreau Would be pretty nice company to be in for a kid who was drafted so late.
  12. I am surprised the Olympic thread is so silent given the outstanding game our Men played today.   17-0 was the score and the coach eased up by playing  younger players on any PP and just generally as the game progressed.   Some really nice passing plays.

    Go Canada!

I can only speak for myself, but I soured on the entire Olympics thing years ago.  Turning point was the London summer games when the IOC's lawyers went after everyone for "unlicensed use" of the Olympic symbols, including primary schools having "Olympic" days leading up to the games.  Said a lot about how much it was about sport.  Haven't given the Olympics an iota of attention since.

The POs are far more about sport in my opinion.   Not a single of these athletes will play professionally and few will even get a few bucks here or there for an endorsement.   They are there for the love of sport and I love watching that.

  13. If you are worried about losing a player to waivers when you are in a rebuild as a 28th place team, how will you handle it when you have a really competitive team again. Like I said, name a Canuck lost to waivers over the past few years you really miss and who has made a big difference to the depth of the prospect pool.
  14. I am more than 100% sure your management knows the waiver rules and status of each player. If Motte is good enough to be in the NHL for your team, this is moot. If he isn't, not sure there will be a massive line up at the door for players the Canucks waive. It has been a long time since a waived Canuck was claimed by anyone and next fall most teams have full rosters and no room anyway. This fear of waivers is an odd thing.
  15. I don't think anyone believed Dane Fox was going to lead anyone anywhere or that Tyler Motte will do that either. You need 20 plus NHL players on an active roster and more than that in professional leagues in the wings to push those given the NHL opportunity. You don't win a Stanley Cup with one or two players and there isn't a team in the NHL who doesn't work to build a solid foundation of players like Tyler Motte in addition to the stars. Motte had a strong college career and has shown signs of being a decent professional - no harm and testing this out further and if it doesn't work, it hardly harms the longer term vision for the team.
  16. Oh, he would fetch a 2nd. Too much natural talent there and many teams are so desperately wanting offensive potential. He has NHL skillset without question but seems unable to to fully apply himself. Many organizations will view this as something they can make happen. IF the Canucks were to dangle him, given his age and untapped potential he would most certainly be able to snag a second. The issue is - do you give up on him now? Perhaps one more year and the increased level of camp competition - that and perhaps a good summer with chats from Igor L.
  17. To me, this puts Lind's numbers versus those for Glass (who I was very high on, and frankly wanted Canucks to draft....was I wrong in terms of him versus EP) into even more favourable perspective for Lind. Quite impressive the season this kid is putting together.

  19. This certainly does seem to be the trend although the league has yet to see a smaller team break through and win a Cup - but that may be a next step. To your argument, do you then also feel that players like EP are more than fine entering the NHL with less than fully developed physical status? I look at him and a lot of his game and moves reminds me of Patrick Kane how was even slighter looking than EP (if that is even possible) when he broke into the NHL and that was a while ago before this trend you refer to was in full swing.
  20. I am still unsure where this comes from.
  21. You can hear Mark's voice mature a LOT from his background dabblings with Creed to lead with Water's Rising with AB and now with this own career. I simply never get tired of listening to his stuff and his mix of distortion/wah on guitar is nearly the perfect metal sound for me - the AB intro to Crows on a Wire, for example, is simply awesome guitar. I also like all the alternative tunings he uses. It can be a major pain in the donkey if you try and learn how to play his stuff OR it can be an excuse to have multiple guitars with different tunings (). What's your fav Tremonti tune?
  22. Yup, thanks. I didn't have the numbers at hand but I did know that in every league I have ever played in or followed, the bulk of the leaders in scoring have been centers in every case.
  23. This final is a best of three isn't it? I think that is what my bad translation of telecast heard.
  24. Again, hope you are right as he seems to be a good kid. I worry for him as I see things on the horizon that may bring all he does but come in a much bigger body. Put it this way, if he stays in the league he will certainly have earned it.
