  1. Give the kid a break. Who knows what is going on at home. My STRONG guess based upon a bit more than that is he is really having a hard time with issues off ice which have not been improving.
  2. 1942–43 Gaye Stewart Toronto Maple Leafs RW 19 1943–44 Gus Bodnar Toronto Maple Leafs C 20 1944–45 Frank McCool Toronto Maple Leafs G 25
  3. ??? They are on a 14-3 run. Far from a sustainable pace and today was the first official goalie pulled goal on Vancouver all year (leads the NHL). Team on historic run (certainly in terms of recent history) and people are not satisfied. The joy of professional sport.
  4. I don't know you but away from all the BS about hockey and silly arguments about meaningless opinions, this is inspiring to hear. Well done and for what it is worth, for today you are my hero!
  5. Petey is getting some grief today. Builds character.
  6. Watching and really trying to focus on Hughes. Hard to believe he is a rookie. This kid has a legitimate shot at superstar status and an ability to be in Norris conversation moving forward. I am impressed with what he does with the puck but the things he does in his own zone are very impressive for anyone let alone a rookie of his size.
  7. Deb after moderating the Trump or Trans Mountain threads....
  8. For those of us across the pond, this time is perfect as getting to watch live like this is nicer than delayed the next morning.
  9. Totally disagree with this premise so makes it hard to vote in the poll. There are literally hundreds of viable scenarios between now and next season that has all three of those players still in Vancouver Canuck uniforms.
  10. OK. He is a very good skater but hasn't shown anything yet at AHL level that would make one thing that the NHL is in his future. Of course that can change but he has to show a lot more determination on loose pucks and increase his urgency overall using his great wheels to avoid having Utica be his highest achievement in the Canuck organization. Let's pull for him!
  11. He played like a prospect who needed some time to figure out the professional game. As a fan of the team, embrace that process and look for signs of encouragement. Calling any human being "hot garbage" - is that really something supportive? Was that meant to inspire? You say you are happy now - so you only happy with finished products and the mess along the way isn't something you can stomach? Perhaps why you get offside so many in discussions is many enjoy the ride. They enjoy watching the struggles the prospects go through before they emerge and even watching those who don't knowing that it was something for the kid to even get a shot. Taking joy out of calling a player on the team you purportedly root for as "hot garbage" until he lives up to YOUR expectations - wow.
  12. Did you end up with an entire team of small players from Quebec Major Junior and no Dmen and no goalie from your method as that is what such a method would most typically result in.
  13. I am watching the feed too and he indeed seems to be having an outstanding game.
  14. Uh, clearly you do.,....in fact, you comment on them more than most. Further, I don't think I am anything actually. I call it as I see it and if I see complete BS I call it as such. I know a bit about hockey and a bit about what it takes to have a good team and I know trollish crap when I see it versus sincere contributions....I will engage both appropriately. You seem to be making that click mistake a lot lately. Have fun "not" reading.
  15. No love for Utunen anywhere? He is still only 19 and while he may never score often (unless it is in O/T against Canada), he moves well, has good zone exits, uses his body well for leverage and hitting and generally seems to be a workhorse. I am not sure he makes the NHL but he is certainly a solid candidate to at least get a peek at some point.
  16. Injuries are inevitable - depth in the organization isn't. Good the Canucks have spent some considerable effort on the one they can directly control.
