  1. Three Billboards - a solid 8.5. Woody is awesome in this.
  2. Dahlin hasn't either and Walker and other of your Vancouver media are going on about how he is a lock, Norris winner in future and would make your team all that much better. It cuts both ways.
  3. I am a massive Tremonti fan. I am a FRET12 junkie and have gone through all of his instruction stuff. I am still a bit slow on Blackbird solo but have mastered a lot of his stuff to a point where I can not embarrass myself playing it. I like Myles (his recent solo stuff....not really for me) but Mark makes that band (AB) go and his own stuff is magical. Would also like Mark to do an acoustic album at some point. I have been lucky enough to see him live twice (AB about six times) and nothing comes close. I like Trivium, Arch Enemy, Soilwork and some others but nothing close to AB/Tremonti. So happy to have found someone else on this board who likes them!
  4. Your NDP government in BC will likely fix that for you - count on taxes to jump a lot for those who make what hockey players do. It works for the socialism experiment but it won't for attracting UFAs.
  5. LOL. Will say same thing if Canucks get some luck and draft Dahlin. Your media is supposed to be objective but to not share in the excitement for one of your best prospects in decades and who just set a scoring record as a teenager in a low scoring era - unreal. How do you guys put up listening/reading their crap?
  6. Hang in there - as far as your Canucks, better days are coming. EP, OJ and others are on the way!!!!
  7. Hey, yikes on the Crohn's. Sorry to hear about that. Hear it can be a real challenge. Sincere best wishes with it and keeping it under control. And if it does flair up, oxy and beer is a great pairing!
  8. Luongo posted his 75th career shutout to move within one of tying Tony Esposito and Ed Belfour for ninth place on the NHL's all-time list among goaltenders. Question to any moderator cruising the board - given the prominence of this player in Canuck history, why doesn't he rate with a spot on the alumni chat area?
  9. No worries. I have beer for dinner sometimes too.
  10. I hope you are right but he is probably only a few college signings, high pick this year plus OJ coming to North America steps away from clinging to a spot.
  11. I don't think he was talking about Ehlers - I believe it was Nylander. I also am not sure why even Nylander was being invoked either to be honest. I like bp79 as posts are often very insightful but I must admit, I simply stated that I sometimes take FTG seriously (I believe he doesn't take himself/herself very seriously) and I got something about Leafs and who I believe to be about Nylander and you have not invoked the Ehlers bit. For what it worth (poor Jake, his thread can never be about him), your "friend" has his opinion which is fine but Ehlers is a defensive liability who has shown a penchant for disappearing when the play gets remotely rough. Will see how he does in playoffs this year. He certainly has an offensive set of tools but if he wasn't on such a gifted team, I am not sure he would be as noticeable or if he was it may not be for right reasons. This year's playoffs will tell a lot more about him for sure.
  12. I don't agree with what you are saying at all. What I didn't agree with, and he kept saying it, was that wingers typically get more points than centers and that is simply false. If you are now asking if I would trade Kole Lind straight up for Cody Glass. Yes, I would make that trade.
  13. Sorry, I don’t understand. What did I say to elicit a discussion about a Leaf?
  14. You know this how? Pretty sure it has been the media linking Canucks to EK. I don't recall Benning stating that he was after Kane. Further, Benning seems to strive for a certain type of character in his players and Kane doesn't seem to quite fit. I would be quite surprised if the Canucks pursued him for a number of reasons.
  15. I sometimes take you seriously, yes. Other times you seem to just want to rain on someone's good feeling about the team but, to answer your question, yes I do indeed take you seriously sometimes and you have some good stuff to offer at those times.
  16. Virtanen followed up a massive game with another good outing. I would like to see him do this for the remainder of the season. What a positive it would be for him (and the team) to enter next season like he is playing now.
  17. you have it all wrong: - Linden is simply worried about the bloody lottery spin and has no idea how to change the trend. He shouldn't worry, he got the best player last year with the fifth pick - Benning is just sitting there thinking "why didn't anyone else take Kole Lind" and "did I leave the iron on?"
  18. Add to that quite possibly the best natural offensive talent currently not in the NHL waiting in the wings and likely ready to be part of the team as early as next year.....
  19. No different than the reactions to Virtanen and OJ. While some people whine and try to paint a bleak picture, the Vancouver franchise is assembling a set of prospects that look as exciting as any in their history and as formidable as any other NHL team's current stable. One more solid draft and a few more deft moves for depth (Leipsic, Baer etc. type moves), some development on the back end and Demko coming into the league and, voila, a team that looks like a lock to be a blast to watch and a handful to play against.
  20. Yup, I was a Cody Glass guy. Wanted him a lot. EP was on my radar but I didn't think he was worth the pick if Glass was available. Thank your stars I am not your team's GM.
  21. If this doesn't give you the willies and get the hair on your arms to stand up, you are without a pulse. Quite possibly the best player in the planet currently not in the NHL, and certainly one of the top five in terms of raw offensive talent, and he is on the verge of coming to play for the Vancouver Canucks. I KNOW a lot of people were upset at the lottery results last year but would you want anyone else from last year's draft? If the Canucks had taken him 1st overall or 10th, would it have mattered? What matters is they did take him and someone else didn't. The kid will have struggles, the kid will have an adjustment period but just looking at those other names he has associated himself with, in an era in Swedish hockey when scoring is down and physical play is up (and closer to North American style than ever) and he is on top of such list a few months past even being allowed to have a beer to celebrate in parts of Canada. Wow. I am rarely lost for words. Wow. Just wow.
  22. I am NOT a MDZ fan. Seems like the nicest guy in the world, a great teammate and apparently has great taste in music but I don't like his first pass decision making, don't like his D-zone coverage tendencies and I don't like his inability to chip a puck off the boards without icing it or having it 5' off the ground versus coming down so his players have a chance to break out.
  23. You can change quotes and repost and whatever else you want to do and still wingers will not score, on average, more than centres. Keep trying!
  24. Wingers do not get more points. You have said that twice now. You can keep saying it but it won’t make it right.
