Yes, EP is quite the player.

Harder to score in SEL in this era than during Forsberg's (scoring nearly 2 goals per game fewer and about 4 from time of Nilsson) but I actually don't think he will as they are close to running away with first place so I see good management being giving him some rest down the stretch to be fresh for playoffs as he has played a LOT of hockey this year. I think he is having an amazing year and comparisons to other eras is fun but really isn't meaningful.

Is this still the EP thread or the 2018 draft proposal thread?

??? Care to explain?

??? Care to explain? I am sure I landed at airport and hotel/rink etc. were in "BC". I don't understand.
-
I don't know BC that well but didn't NDP bring in ICBC and fight the move to cap injury claims? The problem you seem to have in BC is there is no competition for the insurance and your lawyers all have a field day with your crap driving (I was in Richmond for a weekend and was hit nearly a dozen times by people who clearly could not see through their windshields as it was daylight, clear and yet they changed lanes without signals, ran lights, backed up without looking etc etc.)

You are waaaay overthinking this. You assume that Lind is an NHL player first and foremost and second that he will be good enough to be better than ELC pays or worse than his first non-ELC contract pays. Too many variables. It is indeed moot as until he makes the NHL, it will be a nice problem to have if he is better than he current projects and if worse he will never sign that second contract anyway. Anyway, continue to worry about it if that is important to you.
-
It is a moot point. He isn’t even an NHL player yet. iF he is one, he will get paid for what he is worth - up or down.

Eastern writers and coaches “who was that?!”
-
Wow. Just wow. They played on entirely different teams. Your hate of this current version of your team is interesting. If you put top line talent with Horvat on a deep playoff team he would be putting up far better numbers. Team game.

To your life prospects but that is your concern. Good luck with it.

“Butt hurt”? Are you sure you are not in junior high?
-
...and you still make up childish names for elite professional athletes?
-
So all you are saying is give D a chance?
-
What grade are you in?
-
If he is worth it (e.g. legit NHL player) then it is moot as he will be re-signing likely prior to end of ELC anyway. If he isn't, it doesn't matter. This is one area of the collective agreement that gets a lot of chatter but really isn't much of an issue.

Vaxjo has 13 SHL games left and if EP plays in all of them he would hit 44 games played. At current rate of goals and assists he would project to 19 goals and 35 assists for 54 points. Forsberg got 48 points (23 goals, 25 assists) in 39 games. I would call that a virtual tie if EP accomplishes that projection but if he caught fire and hit, say, 60 points then he would be second place all time for U20 behind Nilsson. For him to get 22 points in the final 13 games is a stretch but he seems to like a challenge so let's sit back and enjoy the ride.

Barzal, Boeser and McAvoy are all good rookies but wasn't aware the top rookie vote ended in January? Coaches poll before the season had Edmonton in the SCF and Draisatl being a lock for top winger in the west. Coaches polls are like any other popularity contest if given a voice and given partial (e.g. 3 more months of the season) information. Any one of those three (and perhaps one or two dark horses) have a stellar last two or three months (say winning Rof theM twice over last three months) you will see that being the best indicator for the winner. Barzal could go and get 10 points over his final 30 games and McAvoy hit a wall and Boeser scores 20 more goals and this is a cake walk for the Canuck rookie - OR, Boeser only a few more goals and dries up over all of March and Barzal goes on a streak of 1.2 points per game. Too much hockey left to take much from this poll in my opinion. Right Oilers?

Nilsson's record? EP was never going to touch that. Nilsson had 1.5 PPG and scored 28 goals in 36 games. EP has 13 goals in 31 games. Short of scoring 15 goals in his next five games which would would still leave him a point short of Nilsson in same number of games, the record for Kent is safe. As far as Forsberg, he is right on pace in terms of points per game.

I heard the interview and am now convinced he is going to KHL and it is Benning's fault.
-
...because he doesn't have to be signed until June 2019.
-
He is a solid player. Not sure what sport you watch as you seemingly are not watching hockey or Sutter.

At 1001 pages on the poor kid - with so much writing him off - it sure makes you want to pull for the guy. However, what isn't being thought about is what his progress rate needs to be versus what people want it to be. In this portion of their cycle, they don't need JV to be all he will ever be - they need him to work on what the coaches want him to work on and if that takes even three more years to get there and it coincides when the team is back to the upper portion of the league (assuming they are), isn't that a more logical goal?

Here were the final NHL list of top draft pick prospects. Clearly you were ahead of many "experts". Canucks didn't go off the board at all. Dal Colle was even a possible pick. Top prospects Aaron Ekblad was selected first overall. Sam Reinhart was selected second overall. Source: NHL Central Scouting final ranking. Ranking North American skaters[6] European skaters[7] 1 Sam Bennett (C) Kasperi Kapanen (C) 2 Aaron Ekblad (D) William Nylander (C/RW) 3 Sam Reinhart (C) Kevin Fiala (LW) 4 Leon Draisaitl (C) Jakub Vrana (LW/RW) 5 Michael Dal Colle (C/LW) David Pastrnak (RW) 6 Jake Virtanen (RW) Adrian Kempe (LW) 7 Nick Ritchie (LW) Marcus Pettersson (D) 8 Brendan Perlini (LW) Ondrej Kase (RW) 9 Haydn Fleury (D) Sebastian Aho (D) 10 Jared McCann (C) Dominik Masin (D)
